This scene seemed to be the most New York of the series. A fun fact the Militant character was played by Richard Lawson. He and Rob Reiner were born one day apart
"He's better off dead." LOL, that line got me hard. I know society would never forgive me, but I just feel like it would be something I would enjoy saying given how much crap we are actually putting up with in this day and age. LOL
Up there with Sammy Davis, Jr., visiting the Bunkers as well as Archie telling Maude to keep a certain present for what he calls a deposit on the next wedding, and the time that Mike broke the leg of Archie’s chair, and then they had a tough time retrieving it from the art exhibit.
Yes the beginning of the season this episode appeared in (season 7) is when the show started to run out of steam. Season started with Archie's infamous slight affair and when they started laying into the multiple part episodes. To be honest when the Jeffersons left and Gloria/Mike moved next door and had the baby things seemed to change but it was still excellent until season 7. The second half of the final season, season 9 dragged but it still was better than 90% of what you see in tv now. More torturous was the final season of the Jeffersons. All the steam had been let out of the bag between them bringing back Bentley, Lionel being brought back just to divorce Jenny, the annoying grandkid, and recycled plots from years earlier it got bad.....but still better than what's mostly on TV today. 😂
Because she was up in Tuckahoe spending the weekend with Maude while this incident was taking place. At the same time in Tuckahoe, Dr. Arthur Harmon was entertaining 1ST Cousin Philip Drummond and his daughter Kimberly. Edith got to know both Kimberly and Vivian as a result. Sadly, Arthur told Philip that his housekeeper Lucy Jackson had terminal cancer, and would be deceased within a year.
Well, be that as it may, it’s still a good possibility, especially since Philip Drummond and Dr. Arthur Harmon are biologically 1ST Cousins through their mothers. However, I think that maybe even Mrs. Naugatuck could possibly become friends with Edith. Otherwise how else can you explain Edith’s absence from the storyline? Besides, I can easily see Archie staring in awe as he watches a chimpanzee named Bear (after NCAA football 🏈 coach Paul “Bear” Bryant of the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa) as the chimp is drinking a whole pitcher of beer 🍺, bought and paid for by the chimp’s owner, Milwaukee born semi trucker B.J. (Billie Joe) McKay about a month after Archie became legal owner of Kelcy’s.
Reggie Jackson was one of the highest paid baseball players at the time of this episode. He should be up in the fresh air driving a Lincoln Contirental.
Mike was 100% right for hitting that man who abused his wife, and also attacked Gloria. And I love the fact that Archie 200% stuck up for Mike. And why did that stupid wife want her husband to be OK?😮
“All ya done was belt him.” 😂😂😂
Well…he’s right!!
yeah ahaha

TFTI (thanks for the information).
Archie was street smart; Meathead was booksmart.
It just goes to show that maybe even Jo from “THE FACTS OF LIFE” could possibly know what to do if hanging around Archie.
Lady: You killed him!
Studio audience: 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏
All he did was belt him.
Never been more proud of the meathead!!! Belted that bully..and wat happens .the victim defends the bully haha..real life new yorkers😂
But the guy was also loaded with Jack Daniel’s No.#.7 Sour Mash.

Good grief.

Contarentals! 🤣🤣🤣
And Cadillacs, too.
Unless they happen to be using Rolls-Royces.
This was a great episode.
Feels like a ride on the Subway today in 2022, nothing has changed.
That Exactly True friend
It is not the same, it is worse!!!! ¿?
How puzzling.
More or less.
"All ya done was belt em!" 😂 ❤
LOVE this episode.
Lmbo this was classic
Gotta hand it to Sally Struthers. She jumps the guy; Meathead sits there. Also, SS had one helluva rockin bod.
"Had."
But meathead belted the guy so he redeemed himself 😂
By this time the show started to run out of steam.
5 season's was good , the rest was not
It fell from # 1 to # 3

"He's dead!" (you can clearly see him breathing)
Egads.
Nina looks like Meg foster. I keep getting her mixed them mixed up.😅 Both are beautiful, beautiful eyes.
Except for the difference in their ages, anything’s possible.
1:08 Everybody applauding !?
That's because there telling the audience that the scene is over
Sally Struthers was a Cutie 💓 😍 at that time
She sure was!
Sally Struthers Wasn't Scary I liked when she jumped on that guy back and also told that Black Guy Will You Shut Up
50 yrs makes difference 🤣
LOL
Edith wasn't Even in this episode !

@@LindaCooper-i3f I Don't Think So Tim !
How can you think that it’s impossible for Edith to become friends with Vivian as well as the Drummonds?!
@@LindaCooper-i3f cuz you just made it up !

Marya from Hogan’s Heroes. Nita Talbot
Thanks for noticing her.
1:22 - Reggie Jackson turned communist.
Reggie Jackson was one of the highest paid baseball players at the time of this episode. He should be up in the fresh air driving a Lincoln Contirental.
He always looked more like a Jaguar XKE type.
Rearologist🤣
Where full the episode that it
Mike was 100% right for hitting that man who abused his wife, and also attacked Gloria. And I love the fact that Archie 200% stuck up for Mike. And why did that stupid wife want her husband to be OK?😮
“All you done was belt him!”
The answer is in the question.
In this day and age with especially NY City and state lawsuits would be in place against the Meathead
Now that’s the spirit.
Way to go Meathead
All he did was belt him.
😃😂
2:03 the drunk guy in the back was also Dean Travers from Three's Company
