'How does one break free of habits?'
    ---
This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.
The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'
We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.
Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at digital@kfoundation.org

If we "think" we are giving attention to the habit when it comes back and wondering oh this should work, it should work, why is it not working, is it working like the last time etc then it is not attention. It's again the mechanical mind disguised under the label of attention. True attention is equanimous, non-reactive 😁

This gives the illusion of observation but lately i have realized, that the "new" habit is the habit to observe Just watch how you try to fool yourself. Marvelous, he is beautiful magician.he can wipe out all your psychological disorder.
His way of teaching is unique.he is just showing us how to see things as they are in ourselves as we are unable to see by ourselves .once we learn to actually see what's wrong in us then that very awarenesss will wipe out our suffering. The problem with almost all of us we accept readily what is told to us by authority and we never put efforts to find out by ourselves whether it is so and that's the reason we never get out of the trap that we are caught in.

At first person tries to recall his inner world and trying different types of practices and doings , but he easily forgets inner world when busy in world affairs. Then there comes a time when he will become tired of every practices and doings, .. and his sensitivity start to increase. Then there comes a time when his sensitivity becomes so deep that he does not need to remember his inner world but he will get reminder and messages from everything around him and whatever happening inside of it. Everything drags him inside, and he becomes so deep that he starts to understand the inner language which is soundless and formless . Then there comes a time when he will become stunned, surprised by vast beauty , by unlimited joy vaster than any ocean , stillness deeper than any valley. Then he will see his face in the mirror and will be surprised that he never saw this person before and everything looks utterly new.

We understand the concept logically, but once we live in totality and with complete attention, the life will become totally different and that state can't be explainable. Had a chance of listening to my late father who was fully interested in JKs teachings and is to deliver talks on his teachings. JK greatest philosopher and given a great message to the whole world.

This is so interesting to me. This whole time of being told to watch thoughts, meditate etc. At one point I obsessively watched or tried to control thought. It just generated conflict. But I see now watching this that my mind was in a conditioned pattern or habit. Thought takes it up and plays this whole game with itself trying to "observe" control etc. Seeing the self or ego and how conditioning works after watching this. The result is just observing or attentiveness. Incredible.

This is one of the most clear explanation of Krishnamurti speeches about waste of energy concept in relation to mindfulness state (difference between meditative mind and mind that wastes energy). It's such a practical and useful learning.

After paying much attention on habit, we come to know how we have been wasting our energy. Knowing this point of wasting energy enlightens you not to that habit again. That is stoppable. If it comes next time again we pay attention and this time we feel repentance. This Repentance will lead us to avoid that habit. Great Philosopher J Krishnamurthi Sir....

There is this complex idea that Krishnamurti inspired within me to foster love to dispell undesirable habits and to become more mindful of my actions in general and then there is how that very love would lead to the appreciation of Krishnamurti that would cause me to better understand the message of his rhetoric...love is a very powerful driving force

I can see how people, including myself, can not have the patience for this type of thing. And I can see also how here it can be hard to even on this one, it can be seem too esotetic. But for me this one is very practical and also in line with CBT principles, classical conditioning principles, and operant conditioning too. He references it, basically. What I saw in it, for a use, was for addiction. I have been wondering and asking and trying to notice the habit of the addiction...its will, if you like. A craving seems to, for some, be physical then become quickly an idea, plan, and a ruse, rationalization, lift of mood before the drug or drink, in pre-plan, but resolved to do it anticipation. Things leave the mind. Noticing that, for the addict to try to watch it, can maybe be powerful to break the chain from strong impulse and desire, right after the body crave. Not to try and stop it, but to meet sort of desire with adesire, zilch, nothing but the watching.
