I tried to turn a bowl out of some very nice spalted pine, but in the end made some stupid decisions...... can I save this bowl? Music: LuLu M (the creator himself...;-))
@@susanhayward3474 Hi Susan, thank you so much for your comment 😘 Just a quick question..., I cannot comment on your FB pages? Neither via my personal nor with my page?! Can you check that out please for me? Would love to be able to comment on your FB so now and then.. Big hug from France..🫂🫂
Sometimes an idea in our minds does not translate to the end product. If you don’t try then how will you know? Very nice turning though. Thank you for sharing.
Hi lulu can i ask what what ball cutter are you using ? I have one but it s not cutting as well as the one you are using. As far as the bowl goes i would leave it as is, beauty is in the eye of the beholder 😊looks like reptiles skin
When you put epoxy on a bowl the best way is to slowly spin it till the epoxy dries, usually around 4 hours, and it usually takes at least 2 coats. I used an old rotisserie motor, mount it so you can change the angle if needed depending on the shape of your bowl. I mount the bowl using a hot glue gun for easy removal
It looks like to me the wood absorbed a large amount of the epoxy. If so, very simple fix...use some 180 sandpaper, get a rough surface on all of the epoxy, and put another coat on it. It may take two more coats, but usually one more gets the job done!
@@HollandWoodWorks Thanks for watching and the tip! I'll certainly try this. I have to order some resin, as I have none left. P.s. leuk om een Nederlander hier te zien. Heb mijn vaderlandje inmiddels 25jr geleden verlaten, maar in mijn hart nog steeds een Hagenaar 😅😄. Ik zal je volgen hier op YT!

@@jimgeelan5949 Yes of course, I used the Kutzall cutters mostly. They are not cheap but they cut really good! If you Google these you'll find them.
