- Open back earbuds. The sony linkbud's open ring design is supposed to seamlessly mix your surroundings with your content.
Sony claims it can adapt its volume based on the loudness of your surroundings-all why being able to pick up your voice for high-quality phone calls.
So here's my first impression of these unique-looking space buds.

Doesn’t sound like that to me. Sounds like a normal earbud but I can also hear my surroundings. I love them.

Nice solid first impression. I really think people who are negative towards these are not reviewing these earbuds in unbiased good faith. They are expecting exact same noise production as IEM when these have a completely different design :).
Oh no, these are innovative and provide an entirely different experience like foldable phones. So far, there are pros and cons based on the design. The sound is not one of them.

I like them so far. The only knock I gave against them is the fit isn't secure as Id like. But these are awesome

Amazon has a plug to fill the donut
And that gives a better seal they also have colored sleeves that do the same
The plugs in my honest opinion. Defeat the purpose but the sleeves give a seal and secure fit
These look cool but obviously there’s no anc which is not a bad thing as I assume they were meant for something else

I have to be honest I bought them because I heard good things but they genuinely sound about the same as a pair of dollar tree ear buds
unfortunately, that is how most open earbuds sound. It’s almost like you’re listening to a car radio. They are only great for people who need to have open access to their surroundings while listening to music

May I ask, when you play music does it leak? I probably turn up to 70-78% volume. I use the transit a lot and I don't like disturbing the person next to me.
Yes, but it’s very minimal. Someone next to you would most likely hear the base. But because of its design, you are able to play at a lower level where you can still hear it and the outside world without having to blast it.

It depends on your environment. That’s the case if you’re outside in a city or with a lot of noise. But just walking around your neighborhood or somewhere you can have a normal conversation without yelling, it’s loud enough.

I haven't worn them since, but I'm looking forward to seeing the next version. They're interesting, hopefully Sony learns from their mistakes
