Very good video, thank you!. Is there a way to scale an image in order to adjust the different views? The only way I see is changing the image size independently, but I would like to change proportional.
If you're imported images are out of scale with eachother, you could say, establish a ratio between overall length in one view and wingspan, and then in the views you could "measure" the image with a sketch and then resize the images according to the difference in scale. If your images are all in proportion, you could scale them uniformly. Hope that helps
WOW. I just started and im dying to make a piper PA-28 cherokee, but i just found your videos on making planes hehe. Guess I’ll hop to the FA-18 one because the front of the pa-28 is an uneven elipse and I don’t really know how to tackle it Thanks for the videos!
I haven't finished the F18 yet but I think it will be a good start. Generally weird shapes like uneven elipses can sometimes loft better if you sketch them in half and then mirror the body after lofting to make something symmetrical. I do this in the JAS-39 Gripen video. Good luck that's a cool plane
Your command of FreeCAD is inspiring and educational. Keep up the great work! Speaking of Corsair... for the little bits that you type, your keyboard sounds like a Corsair K70 with Cherry MX reds. Am I close?
When trying to align the images prop spinner the image SNAPS back and won't let me move beyond a certain limit?? Snapping to grid if OFF, I don't get it. Any ideas?
My images don't show up in my window. Using version 0.18. Could that be the issue? If i click the first icon, it works. When i click the second one to impose a plane, nothing happens and i get an error on bottom.
Great video, great work. Really. Unfortunately for me, my english is not so good, so you tell the video too fast for me. I will try make a 3D mould to make a flying model, but I do not understand your work from the situation of images, planes, etc and the subject of sections and how to fill the volume between the sections. I do not know if you can aid me. Repit, congratulations, really great work.
Hello josechumontanes; I know languages are difficult. I do have some other videos that cover images and lofting: th-cam.com/video/yVmtAP1KCfY/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/ggJ6tORsAS4/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/4nxTQk5WfTU/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/6XMQ29p2Oqk/w-d-xo.html Hopefully some of these will help. If you have a specific issue please let me know
@@JokoEngineeringhelp Hi, Joko Thank you very much for your kind message. I'll ask you for your help, sure (ha ha ha). Thank you very much and great job, really.
Hi Joko, I know how to implement images and more or less how to adjust them to a figure. I understand that during the first 10 minutes in your video what you do is adjust the sketch to the background images, don´t you? Then there is a part that I do not understand very well, why do you need both adjustment of the figure to the image?; Usually I prefer to move and adjust the background image. I intend to do with free the model of an aircraft and its wing, to make the model (cnc wood, foam, etc.) for make a mold for fiberglass or to make cutting templates of the pieces. Therefore, I most need to know how the minute 25th is made, which is the "filling" of the volume between two planes (or volume filler between two sections of a body), f. ex. what you do with the fuselage, or for example "fill" a wing between the central/root section and the marginal/tip section. If you are so kind, thanks for your help (please, step by step and better in writing) Best regards, thank you in advance, Joko. Josechu
my file has wrong pic of top view image . my files I down Loaded has shinny polished top image and cowl is two time larger then the image ! but other images fits like a glove lo just my luck lol
@@WesleyWilsonYT Hey Buckeye, I noticed a scaling error in one of the photos I uploaded yesterday. I put some corrected stuff on GrabCAD today, and made a whole new plane to make sure they were as good as the ones in the video I used. They're all good now.
Like the explanation of the 3 point splines. That's a good tip when designing something free form.
Absolutely amazing! Makes me want to keep making stuff just for practice.

I have been looking for this, thx for making it!! you should add 3 view to the name, took me forever to finally click on it

8:09 wont creating references off the face cause instability?
If the face ID changes due to edits it will
Surprisingly like the Spit Fire?

can you give the link for other parts?
They should be added now
Where do you find your images?
Images have been added to the GrabCAD link in the description
