The G&L Tribute ASAT Classic Semi Hollow has always interested me so I was delighted to see you reviewing it. It sounds absolutely wonderful, Great clarity and excellent tone ( although, in truth, you always make even cheaper guitars sound fabulous ) and it's most definitely a " looker " I love the finish. Cool Johnny, I like those pickups with adjustble pole-pieces...great for Fender style Guitars. Good sound, more robust and clear than usual and best of all no "Ear fatigue" from harsh/hard high frequencies. Great playing.
Thank you for your videos. Digging the G&L love. I have a couple of ASAT classics, a bluesboy and the new semi hollow, and I always find myself coming back to them. Great guitars for the price in my opinion.

The pole pieces of the lower strings can be adjusted to make those "Malcolm power chords" really ring out. The MFD seems to respond better to overdrive and distortion effects than a traditional Telecaster pickup. It's been surprisingly effective. Great playing, BTW, I've been watching your reviews for some time now.
Sounds like G&L must have bought a large shipment of Basswood. Swamp ash is highly desirable compared to Basswood but much more expensive. I prefer my guitars to be Strat shaped. Does anyone make a Strat shaped semi-hollow guitar? Thanks for another great review Jonathan
I like it very much. I have been playing a Mexican Deluxe Thinline Telecaster since 2017 and it is exactly what I want in a Telecaster. This looks great and I just might have to compare the two in person. I really like the 12" radius better and locking tuners are a must now for me unless they are vintage style like on my Deluxe Players Stratocaster. They seem to stay in tune very well. Great demo and nice song and playing again. Thanks for all the great work. You have sold me on a few guitars now.
I'm loving this one! Sweetwater has these available - apparently as an exclusive. Only difference would seem Sweetwater's is a standard C, a bit thinner, with an Indian Rosewood board. Mine was under 6lbs. Needed some set up but plays like a dream now. I love the MFD pickups!

Thx for your excellent g&l asat tribute reviews. About 6 month ago I bought the asat tribute bluesboy after looking at your review and up to now I'm very very satisfied. This new one seems to sound a bit more "biting" than the bluesboy, may be due to the neck single coil.

Wow, tribute series asat, no matter special, or Classic are so stunning, especially in your hands. I must get one of each for modern and vintage when I have the chance! By the way, would there easily produce a howl when a semi hollow is plugged in? Are there special things to look out for with a semi hollow? Looking forward to your response! This tele really sings, i really like it, but after googling the model in my neck of the woods (Europe), i cant seem to find a semi hollow model with 2 x single pups, i can only find this model with a HB in the neck position & the single pup @ the bridge.

Do you find the 1 5/8" nut width too narrow? I find it too narrow on most guitars that have it. I couple times it worked for me but I think it had something to do with the neck profile.

Thanks for this man ;) I'm still looking for my Asat of choice, and conceptually, this is very close to it.. Didn't like the neck and the middle positions clean sounds as much as I expected, though. Too dark. I reckon this guitar would benefit a lot from the G&L PTB system. It sounded killer with high gain, specially in the neck pos. And so did your solo Jon ! Cheers from Portugal
