Thanks man, your short and to-the-point order of assembly helped me figure out why it wasn't threading on for me - great job!

Very helpful. Stihl FS 55, 6+ years old. I'da been lost trying to put this on. Mine came with string in it. First you gotta take the spool out and the string off to get to the starting point in the video. I had to pound on the gold nut to get it out in order to put the green one on. Other than that I just followed your instructions. Then put the original string back in. Works great! Didn't bother with the instructions.

Thank you, only thing I would add for those watching. When tightening the green nut don’t forget to put an Allen wrench or screw driver in hole on base plate to keep it from spinning while trying to tighten housing.

Omg. Definitely definitely better than using the OEM way. It's so damn frustrating I cannot even tell you how many times I have cursed this process when I run out of line. Thank you - definitely looking for this product now.

It would have been nice to see how you got the original one off.

You gave two links for the Speed Feed, which one do I order? Does it both come with the replacement parts sir?

One is name brand and one is off brand that I used. You can pick they are both the same but some have asked for the name brand. I would suggest the off brand as that is what I have been using for years now.

Maybe you can help recently was given a trimmer that didn’t not have a bump head I believe it was called the 31-2 fix cut head I took that off put on a echo bump head from a broken down echo trimmer and put it on the stihl I was given every time I go to bump I get a excessive amount of string I have everything on correctly maybe cause it’s a echo bump head on a stihl ? Just don’t wanna go buy one and waste the $

Sounds like you have the spool the line wraps around turned upside down in the assembled head. I learned that from a TH-cam video. Hope it helps if you haven't figured it out yet.
