Worst part, is that it’s just on a flight sim. And then there’s a stress factor for that one pilot with landing on the wrong runway in a sim? Try doing a gusty crosswind landing with turbulence aloft while getting airsick where lives and property are on the line, even in a training airplane. I’m not even trying to one-up anybody here. That’s just what happened to me IRL
@@josephhaas7413 Frankfurt Airport ATIS literally has a remark all the time to not mistake a taxiway and a runway when flying visual approaches. These things happen even to real pilots, so naturally they can happen to untrained amateurs who fly a plane alone that is designed for two people lol.
So since I have played every single MSFS since inception in 1982 (yes I'm OLD) that must make me something like Obi wan or Royalty to him, since years experience seems to be relevant somehow.

Controllers may sound like they're pushing instructions and nay sound a bit "angry" when it's busy. I don't see much of an attitude here, some stress but definitely no attitude. Controller kept his calm and didn't argue, pilot just wanted a fight. IRL it'd be a pilot deviation
What he could have also Done Was also Put in the Remarks His Callsign With "CALLSIGN LINDBERGH" Which would help ATC A lot. especially if they don't know And 12 Years on vatsim, He should know this by now.
I love it. Keep these coming! I am just learning the ropes on VATSIM and there have been a few times now where I was being treated badly because someone was taking things waaaay to serious. One time where i actually debated not coming back. The hobby will die if you run everyone off by having bad attitudes.
I remember when VATSIM was a extremely professional, helpful, and a support community. Some of us who have been around for 20+ years and don't try to flex like that. *shrugs*
VATSIM stopped being fun around 2010. There were a lot of us leaving around that time. Now it is full of egos and paperwork, as if it makes it any more real. LOL
This happens in airsoft and milsim too because some people form their whole identity around it because they were never good enough to do it in real life. You'll never see real pilots, real ATC, real soldiers acting the way the try hards act because why would you want to ruin your time away from work with tedious BS like "you got my callsign wrong".
I find it impressive the controller remained professional. Ironically, It adds to the realism because things like this do happen in the real world too.
That's a huge red flag for me, because everyone in the network can see your real name. From my experience, some people take Vatsim way too serious (or take the anger out on you like the guy in the video), so why would I dox myself and give them my real name?

I tried vatsim once, and havent been back. I have real world flight experience out of international air space, only mention to give reference. I posted that it was my first time on vatsim, but when I requested for IFR clearance the controller said it was posted electronically. I asked where that was, and he got super mouthy and belittling about it. That was a year ago and I havent been back since. I fly with AI atc now.
Should have been .wallop'd for clogging up the frequency during an event. The controller gave 0 attitude about the callsign, he was just trying to clarify it.
This is sad. I understand getting 'serious' about this stuff. I flew a fair amount of VATSIM myself and have done lots of DCS as well and while it is fun to get serious about it this crap is not real life and not worth getting all upset over. People need to keep it in check.

Go Jet pilot is the type of person on VATSIM who clearly wants to pick a fight with controllers because they think they know it all just because they are a controller or have prior real-world experience. This Go Jet pilot violated A1 rule in a lot of different ways and if I was the controller, I'd wallop and use this video as evidence so some sort of investigation could happen. The controller on the other hand, did a terrible job pointing out that the Envoy landed on the incorrect runway. Basically he said "you landed on the wrong runway, never do that ever again." That type of tone he used and the wording can be taken as rude and unprofessional which could potentially be an A1 violation. Instead he could use the "it appears you have done this, please do this." phraseology. ex: "N12345 it appears you've entered LAX class B airspace, please exit immediately." in a more professional and safe tone. A lot of bad VATSIMisms happening here and this is why the quality of VATSIM can sometimes be questionable.
If he talks to virtual ATC like that, promise he talks to actual ATC like that. I would have asked him to take down a number and see how he responded to that, would have been hilarious.
