American Airlines flight 1775, Boeing 737-800 arrives at the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (KDCA) on the River Visual runway 19 approach. Recorded in Microsoft Flight Simulator on the VATSIM network, ATC included. Massive tail-strike and stall warnings plus FSXCC landing competition vibes at the end.

Thanks for watching boss!
These more realistic sims are fascinating as a non-flyer. But I do kind of miss the absolute chaos in some of your older videos. Merry Christmas!
literally just said this after the video. that said the skill of these atc and pilots was still very entertaining to watch
I do miss me some hot air balloons going vertical.
tbh same
Ya that's what got me hooked and couldn't wait for the next
@@BammerD Or doing barrel-rolls at mach 3 ... 🤨😂
Grading vatsim landings is honestly really fun to watch
I just wish I could see them.
I haven't seen this much traffic in the air since Christmas 1990 at Washington Dulles International Airport!
Same shit every Christmas huh Mr.Mclane
Isn’t that the year they lost power to all but one runway and a plane crashed due to an incorrectly calibrated glide slope?
@@wileymarm0t RIP Windsor 114 😢
@@Tboneman they didn’t have a machine gun; Ho, Ho, Ho
Just like iwo jima !
I'm an ATC student at the FAA Academy right now and hearing those controllers sequence all that traffic was so cool!
Hello Groundpoops66 I just wanted to let you know, stemming all the way back from your chaotic flight sim x sessions to these dry humor regular flights, you single handedly peaked my interest in aviation.
For the past 11 years I lived in California just managing coffee shop to coffee shop and streaming in off time.
And just 2 weeks ago I moved to Virginia Beach for flight school, just the other day I went up for my first time in a small two seater experimental, and got my first taste behind the sticks. I have no one to thank but you dude, you’re amazing and I’m truly grateful that the algorithm brought us together all those years ago. You’re the man brother, I hope to run into you some day and buy you a beer 👊🏼
One of the most wholesome comments in all of yt. Gotta bookmark this somehow❤
Somebody blog this.

The spectating after landing felt like a dessert I didn't expect. Thanks AFP95! Another banger.
That’s insane! This is why airports need parallel runways!
And this is just a Vatsim channel. The real world can be a lot spicier.
National has no space. When they first put an airport there they had no concept of airplane traffic volumes that we would have in the 21st century.
@@NorthForkFisherman I know! 😬
IRL DCA is limited to 60 IFR operations per hour, so this is just a "vatsim-ism"
As someone who lives 5 minutes from DCA, there is no space for parallel runways. The one main runway it has is already ridiculously short at 6800 ft and in order to fit a second parallel runway between it and the Potomac it would have to be even shorter.
yo you using the 737 pmdg now lets go.
Also the landing competition esque part at the end gave me a lot of nostalgia. Honestly should bring it back and call it FS20CC.
Anyone got a livery for that yet?
For the record - that was the most elegant sequencing I think I've witnessed since I started watching AFP's vids. IRL, air traffic controllers are truly the unsung heroes in our everyday lives, they don't get the credit they deserve, they're underpaid, overworked and they do this work day in and day out to ensure everyone is safe, happy, and healthy. The next time you find out that someone is a real ATC, hug him and thank him for his service, it's the least you can do.
As much as I love the videos with all of the shenanigans this is by far one of the best I have seen. Amazing job by the ATC.
This was so cool seeing all these landings. Everyone, planes and controllers, were fantastic!
that was a great video spectating the landings at the end. VATSIM was killing it on that flight
Now that’s professionalism at its finest. Loved seeing how ATC worked the traffic throughout the video.
As someone with a huge phobia of flying (and yet fascinated by airplanes), watching those landings really does relieve some of that fear lol
Huh???! It's a facking game bud.
@@goodbyemr.anderson5065 What's your problem lol
And as someone who lives in DC and has routinely flown into DCA, actually landing there will absolutely reverse all of that relief.
The sequencing is insane awesome job by all the vatsim staff.
ATC was top tier into DC.
That last landing was also top tier.
Thanks for the vid!
“Oh my TAILSTRIKE!”
*Keeps climbing as if nothing happened*
That has to be the busiest airport I have seen so far on the new simulator, props to the ATC keeping the madness under control
Zurich (LSZH) had an event this week where all the holds were full and new flights departing to Zurich were delayed a minimum of 1 hour for clearance.
Massive respect to the controllers ! Feels good to see the VATSIM network ALIVE !
Spec-fucking-tacular. A+ ride from start to finish.

Hey Airforce, I know you probably don't remember me but i want you to go back 11 years ago. I was on an old account then but you commented on a video from costal carolina regional airport to the youtuber Ganon136. I never commented, but i did like your comment at some point. I remember you didn't have a lot of subs back then. I looked back at the old video today and saw the verified checkmark. It's crazy what you have become. Keep up the great work! If you do in fact read this comment please go back to that video and at least look at it.
Man, it's awesome seeing Gravelly Point Park right there at the tip of the runway. It's a fun place when they have the river approach from that direction.
The last landing was smooth man ! Any chance you could virtually fly Concorde on vatsim one day ? I'd love to see that happening. Being a first class passenger on AFP airlines is pretty cool ! Happy holidays to you !
Thought the Washington Monument was the runway for a moment. That would've been awkward...
Benihana-grade sequencing work by that ATC
The top dogs among the VATSIM community, right here.
Both on the ATC side and Pilots side
Man, absolute professional job by ATC. FAA should just hire them.
That river approach into DCA gives passengers some anxiety let alone the pilots! Good job with sticking the landing!
As a person who used to fly in and out of Reagan a lot this is 100% accurate and you do get quite the sightseeing tour flying in that was only suspended due to how close you are to, well, everything, for a while after 9/11.
Those smooth landings at the end, you love to see it
I've flown in to Reagan quite a few times on the river approach, both day and night. It's a lot of fun in real life. I still would like to see @Airforceproud95 do the Canarsie 13R approach at JFK, at night.
you know you make good content when i only can see in one eye after surgery and still watch your videos.
Great video. I fly the 737 IRL in the US for a major carrier (but not AAL. Hint: paint is mostly blue!)
We have the “airspeed low” aural warnings installed. I’m not sure about AAL’s configs, but that would be a great heads-up pre-stall (in the event it happens).
For energy management tips, be very careful disconnecting A/T and handling it on your own. For the most part, A/T will hold approach speed on its own around 5 kts past your landing Vref (known as Vtarget). When you disconnect A/T, it’ll actually stay around Vtarget on its own. You don’t want to be exactly at Vref because you’ll be too close to a low-airspeed condition. Very small movements are needed on the thrust levers upon disconnection unless it’s super windy, but usually for that I leave A/T on until last minute for disconnection on landing.
Other than that, great job slowing it down in advance. This thing is a slick piggy and hard to slow down once she gets going. Walking down to that flaps-up bug (210 kts) prior to the IAF is crucial, so good job getting it slowed early with ATC. Keep it up.
Remember to put your gear to the OFF position once it had been retracted. And also, flaps 2 is not a takeoff configuration in the 737 (some are 1, 5, 10 and 15).
What does that do?
It removes the hydraulic pressure from the gear
@@allamericanwiseass It deactivates the gear system and lets the wheels stay in a fixed position
@@kaan_3516 good idea
MSFS 737 won't let you, it is not a function
thanks for the pre Christmas upload, boss. makes my holidays even better
0:06 Say bye bye to the aft bulkhead 😂
what a christmas present: afp95 video before the end
now those were butter landings
Been both in the air and on the ground (there's a fantastic plane spotting area just by Reagan) and the river approach is really neat. Plus the planes are quite low so seeing them zip along the highways is pretty cool.
I’ve been a pretty big aviation/sim/spotter fan for pretty much my whole life and I’d never heard of this airport until last week… now my timelines are full of it and I can’t get enough of the river visual. Don’t know how I’ve missed it up until now but glad I come across it!
Love these night flights where we can see other aircraft in the sky, the beautiful city lights, and other airport runway lights. Keep'm coming.
didn't realise that your callsign was the start of the american revolution!
I live a few miles from IND, during the summer I love to watch the lights at night with the sequencing. It's always amazing to see the perfect spacing of plane lights as they land.
I worked up by Dulles and there were stormy nights when you could see the Reagan traffic back up at night by standing on a parking garage. This reminded me of that.
Reminds me of when I flew my Piper Warrior across Lake Michigan and entered O'Hare airspace. There were aircraft, a lot bigger than I was, all over the place.
I work in the tower here at DCA -- fun to see this on the sim side with ATC.
Love this type of video with the high traffic and drone cam at the end.
I am a complete noob, and just like to move around in the sky. Seeing clean landings, at night, still amazes me.
True for DCA IRL... crazy busy airport!
Ending bringing me back to the FSXCC days
You’re finally using PMDG/payware!!! Let’s GO!
Wow, everyone handled that chaos really well, from the ATC to the sequencing aircraft.
That was a considerable amount of traffic for DCA! Still blows my mind just how busy Potomac airspace is both virtually and in reality. Excellent job by all. And did I truly hear a Northwest call sign at some point in the sequencing? That warms my heart; Detroit Metro (DTW) is my hometown airport, and was one of Northwest's hubs before Delta bought them.
I must say I really do like the commentary whilst vatsim plane spotting… you make into a sports event. 😂😂😭😭 Please do more
man ... all those butters ..... couldn't take my eyes off those landings ... omg ...
That looks like a difficult approach. Superb job by the VATSIM controllers. I'm a C1 controller in the UK. Even so it's incredible people study so hard to do it.
I loved the planespotting at the end! It's something I also tend to do a lot on VATSIM at busy airports. Also feels like a bit of a throwback to the drone camera MSFS vids and the landing challenges.
11:24 - I fuckin' lost it "This is a bold move, Cotton."
Always impressed by your videos. This was a winner. Your radio work is impeccable, even in an American dialect!
Im SHOCKED how SATISFYING watching those landings were. SHOCKED because I was expecting a sh!tshow
that was some amazing vectoring and atc....
Wow that was absolutely bonkers!! I was on the edge of my seat for the last 5 minutes of the landing sequence! Especially with the stall warning during final approval and then more stall warnings during landing!!!! Phew 😅😮💨😅 great work by pilots and all ATC involved!
VATSIM controllers doing Reagan proud! That’s was awesome
Reminds me of what I've seen In real life with the planes flying over to land at DTW years ago. Outside and it's just a constant stream of planes crossing above for nearly a half hour.
That landing was so good even the control column was vibrating with excitement!!
Throbbing
-sorry-
That is the busiest airspace I've ever seen in this channel (except the steam), good thing you were not declaring emergency due to the tailstrike at the beginining😂
Those ATC were on point at DC!!! Also really liked the landing spectating. Hope you do more of those during busy sessions!
This was probably the most realistic experience for a popular commercial airport on MFS. I pass by the DFW airport a few times a year and every time its flooded just like this video.
That was quality, front to back. The ATC was on-point! And those landings were the cream on that whole thing. Great video, and great work to all involved.
Merry Christmas, AFP69
i would LOVE to see a video of you just grading vatsim landings tbh. the short segment in the end was really fun to watch!
I just recived your merch and it is comfortable as hell
4:35 I can go on the roof of my apartment building and see sequences just like that going into DCA almost every night.
This reminds me when I was flying into LAX from Hawaii. A line of planes descending one at a time through the cloud layer at night. It was beautiful.
My nights about 10-15 times a month for 25 years. Fedex arrivals into Memphis are busier than this simulation.
All those planes circling DC airspace is giving me Die Hard 2 flashbacks. RIP Windsor 114.
The nostalgia from the spotting at the end❤❤
Love seeing my local airport in simulators!
7:58 amazing you got into a dogfight during the touchdown.
I think you should do an episode in which you will only be rating takeoffs and landings. I enjoyed landings very much
The level of professionalism in this entire flight with everyone just makes me happy. Those ATC boys killed it.
Honestly could watch you just plane spot for hours! Gold!!!
I am so glad there's safety logic on the VATUSA ATC client now, love to hear "RUNWAY 19 GO AROUND" probably all event for anyone who had the ASDEX window open. Great work by everyone at ZDC (and everyone else too)
I definitely heard that a whole bunch 😂 but thanks to the great pilots who vacated the runaway quickly I didn’t have to actually send many people around
Amazing piloting and top notch ATC
As someone who went spotting at Gravelley Point (right below runway 3) it’s still impressive how all pilots manage to take the hard turn and align with the runway in a short period of time. Props to the realism too
This is why I fly on flightsim. I enjoy flying into the busier airports and watching traffic landing as you did.
Always good when something breaks or doesn't work in an AFP95 video. Just like the good old days. MSFS spoiled everybody. Great job in the Capital.
You should bring back those landing competitions I really miss those
Well that was something! Great video as always
I could watch the spotting all day 😍
ATC was killing it
New video, nice.
I love how bro's just casually enjoying Chick-fil-A while flying
You know I think that was me in the Delta 350 XD I don't recall being that off of the center line, But who knows that was some approach in that A350.
How did you get an a350 did one come out for msfs
@@christophershort3900 no, I was in Xp12 with the FF one
Amazing job to those guys in the VTC. They made it look real easy squenencing those planes for landing.
Great time for a new AFP95 VatSim video
God I missed the Vatsim vids. Great video thank you for this beauty of a Christmas gift!
Not the camera passing out at the start of the video 😂
Butterrrr. Happy Christmas AFP95 and everyone else. See y’all next year 🫡.
That was an amazing video! Also, those landings are worth a 20 minute video of their own :D.
