A neurological disorder can cause speech alterations. Her initial speech pattern was sharp and irregular, sounding more Eastern European. Now it's softer with a slight inflection that does to a certain degree resemble a Welsh accent. But it's not a true Welsh accent.
It doesn't sound exactly Welsh but almost a mix, I do hear a bit of Wesh, but also Geordie, South African and Brummie. There may be some Danish, German or Dutch thrown in but it's so varied that you can't pick one accent
My mum was diagnosed with FND 2 years ago had every scan under the sun but everything comes back normal... She went from an average 60 year old working in a school kitchen to looking like a dementia patient overnight... and there doesnt seem to be anything anyone can do about it other than offer mental health support which doesnt do anything really...
Watch the video or the Brummie girl who supposedly woke up with a Geordie accent, it was also on This Morning, and in that video the 'expert' said exactly the same thing as the 'expert' in this video, that it's a software problem, not a hardware problem. What's the chances of 2 different 'experts' giving the exact same response. Contrived.
I have functional neurological and it took six years to get a diagnosis after constant neurological testing. I sometimes speak backwards and have paralysis, all humour aside this is a real thing.
Her accent when she's driving sounds like the people who are from the eastern block countries - Poland, Russia, Lithuania etc speaking english - not much german in there at all.
Hang on, i am confused about the second clip like the Tv presenter. She clearly says she's got her speech back and wasn't sure how long it would last but in the interview she claims it was recorded before???!! 🤔😖
Agreed, she contradicts herself, the video says her normal accent came back, then she explains it by saying 'that video is from before' then contradicts herself again by saying she started vlogs since the condition started. I think the condition exists but she doesn't have it. Attention seeker, she is loving the attention. They are entertaining her even though it's obvious she's lying.
@@mmtmmt9481 i am not sure about lying though. Cause I tell you my dad who is a public speaker in his own language but speaks very broken English with a strong accent. However, I've heard him several times speaking very good English when he is sleep talking! 😹
I THINK that second video was her talking about when she initially had slurred speech, before the accents started. The slurred speech disappeared and her normal voice came back. Then later on, she woke up with the “German” accent. Then it turned into the “Welsh”.
It starts with a neurological issue that disrupts speech, but perhaps she socialised herself to soften her speech afterwards into a truer accent, similar to a child in Wales.
Interesting that reincarnation has been proved, now, and it's an obvious factor to consider, but everybody is all about physical brains as the full explanation.
This is what I’ve been saying for years! What if these mysterious accents are from past lives? that would mean our soul is transformed and that must sometimes mix with our brain etc Sounds crazy I know 😅
Interesting point! Maybe... Such a mystery. I also wonder if her ancestry DNA holds any clues ... i.e. if that's a true Welsh accent, then maybe she has some Welsh DNA. I'm not saying we inherit accents through DNA by the way! It is very environmental, but the imprints of accents forms during the first few years of our childhood.
I would imagine it's something to do with the effect of how muscles work to produce speech. A change in the way the muscles are activated because of a neurological issue will produce a different sound and thus, different accent, which could be any accent that exists or something that doesn't. In any case, our brains will place the new accent with something we already know. Like how the Barbadian accent is similar to a West Country accent and there's similarities between Canadian and Scottish. In her case, it's not a thick accent anyway, but I would definitely place it as Welsh, which is a pretty sexy accent, so it's not all bad for her.
As an Australian I can say that her first voice iteration sounded like a migrant who came to Australia as an adult and learned Englsh here. That's what Italian or Greek migrants sound like.
I wonder how often you would have had to hear the accent to have it appear, I am assuming, from one's subconscious? I have occasionally heard Bryn Terfel on videos, but I cannot right now distinguish ow her "Welsh" accent is different from her normal accent, or from Cornish accents from "Doc Martin". Presumably you would have had to have heard the accent enough to at least recognise it. Really fascinating.
I love reading these kind comments, I should post video with my FAS so you all can tell me what country you think. Some say Scottish, some say Ukrainian, most say they love it, but ... there is a lot of stress for me with this accent. i am in a lot of therapy.
As a Welsh person I don’t think she does sound Welsh ,yes she shortens her words and her voice has a lilt but she sounds like and English person trying to copy a Welsh accent .The only time she sound Welsh is when is when she says “catchment area”.It is strange when this happens to people, she actually sounds like the accent we heard in old 1940 films when English actors played Welsh characters and over did the accent.

This is on the verge of insult. People with FND don’t usually make a big song and dance of it because it’s disorienting, scary, and a bit embarrassing. It challenges who they are, and people come at them for fakery or worse (like racism in the case of an American who developed a Chinese accent).
