@robbieferreira The oil is from the tube seals under the valve cover
broke'nboosted valve cover gasket
Jack Nelson no he’s right the tube seal would cause that. In those d series if it was the valve cover gasker it would be visibly pissing oils outside the motor
Most cases have to buy valve cover gasket to get the tube seals
Can confirm
Did you guys gap the plugs? Should be about .028 on a car like that. Also that’s probably valve cover gasket. It won’t fill with oil again until there’s a lot of crank case pressure.
give it a good ol' Italian tune up to find out ;)
Actually they will fill even on a stock civic it’s a damn Honda thing
Buy a valve cover gasket kit. There is a lot of them that come with spark plug O rings, try that out, just had to fix this same issue on my 94 accord and that fixed it!
Nick Wackenhuth also should use wood block to snug tubes back into head, they can sometimes back themselves out
Had the same issue on my 94 del sol with a d15b7 it wasnt a hard fix just replace the tube seals under the rocker arm assembly and it will solve the issue get a good valve cover gasket set and it should come with them
Erik Amezquita my 02 civic had same issue. New valve cover job fixed it👍
@@TheDon8771 yeah man honestly it's an easy fix if you have the tools and time
also take a wooden block and hammer to snug the tube back into the head
after seeing new video, no tubes that can be pounded in, some 4 cylinders do, but not this i guess
Those plugs looked well loose! I had similar issues with a diesel injector and it chuffed diesel all over the place. That being said I'd definitely have a look at the gasket, at least once it's done you don't have to worry about it!
P.s I was 267 in views, I would have been sooner but I was cooking sausages!
Still committed! It's starting to feel like a marriage, but with less nagging! 😂

The oil in the plug hole is leaking from the o-ring seals in the valve cover that seal the head from the spark plug holes
You should had left the spark plugs and in there and get break cleaner , spray it and begin to use pressurized air and blow all the oil out . After that remove the valve cover and replace all the rubber in the valve cover gasket and the oil should stop leaking into the spark plugs. This happened my dad's and I Eg at 300k miles
Valve cover gasket and tube seals. The oil will burn off!
Rob you should be careful with your communications to/with Emmerson. Calling him your Emmerson and being a little bossy toward him while you work will make him build up animosity toward you. His personality type is that he won't really tell you that it bothers him. Just an observation from life experience. Love to watch y'all work together. Not hating on you just saying cause I care. Keep up the good work and stay committed! (Certified psychologist in communication)
#1 it is the rocket cover gasket
#2 you can use a 90 degree pvc hose or more length on the turbo and then the pod filter
Valve cover gasket with tube seals buddy
It’s just a gaskets for the tubes usually comes with valve cover gasket kit
7:49 You guys should definitely use jack stands even if you're only under the car for a few minutes
its good practice to check/replace the plugs one at a time instead of pulling them all out at once. last thing you want is something falling into a cylinder x.x better keep a telescopic magnet handy lol
Liked before even looking at the video, as usual!!
The reason why you have so much oil down there is because the valve cover gasket and valve cover gasket rings around spark plugs
you need better crank case ventillation if you wanna reduce the chance of it popping another gasket, i recomend a catch can
Definitely get new leads robbie. Once they are soaked in oil they don't perform properly anymore. And gap the plugs before putting them in. Good luck bro
Also on the d15 blocks there is TWO spark plug tube gaskets on each tube. One on top and then one under the rocker arm. There’s two seals per tube. It’s hard to find the rocker arm seal tho
Its the spark plug seals in the rocker cover, replace them and you’ll be sweet
The gaskets that seal the ports of the spark plug tubes aren't sealing and letting oil by and going into your cylinders.
Get a valve cover gasket and tube seals Robbie! They’re cheap and super easy
At least its not a "real" problem. Easy fix for you blokes! 👍 can't wait to see the dyno footage and see what the civic will handle. Get it homie!
I never realize how cool Canadian people are. Y’all are some cool guys! Love the videos dude keep it up!
It the Voulv cover gaskets that go Around the spark plug holes
That oil leak into the plug holes is from the valve cover gasket. Go get a valve cover gasket that has the spark plug hole gaskets
Colder plugs to prevent pre-ignition and detonation
The oil in the spark plug holes is just a leaking valve cover gasket, easy fix.
Install an open airfilter on to the turbo! 👌
my AFR gauge cost me $35 AUD lol, and it works fine, you are waaaaaay better off with a wideband though. mine uses the stock 02 sensor
Balue cover gasket. Has the same issue on my 92 DX.
Copper plugs are best suited for turbo...better spark. And those seals are super easy to swap....
U can push start the car too if ever battery dead. Turn key on push the car a decent ways and then first gear pop the clutch.
valve cover gasket failure at the plug tube or loose plug tubes can cause that to happen, happened to me on my neon
You should put preasured air in sparkplug hole when sparkplug is on place and catch all oil whit cloth :) and repeat it whit spaying brake cleaner first. I was scared you are going to bend your crankshaft :o. Thanks for videos, been here 25k subs :)
Those sneak peaks on instagram got me soooo hyped for this
I had this happen on my parents car, a loose plug in cyl 3, though its doing the jumpy cuts on power again, i believe the headgasket on the car is going but theres no smoke or anything that shows signs of that just those spark plugs being oily, though i can't mess about with our only car aha
Hey Robbie I literally just bought the exact same gauge in box with hardware for $90 on Amazon from AEM
The answer to your turbo not having a filter is turbo-guard.com
I think if you have time before dyno then get the gasket changed, u got this far, don't let it screw up dyno day :P oh and stay committed
Every time you say stay committed it resonates with me and my kinda shitty BMW e39 daily driver
Oil in plug wells is due to the cam cover seal leaking. Easy to fix
ATTN: Remove the valve cover, right? Ok. Replace those little rubber rings. If they leak, they fill the spark plug wells. All you did was burn oil, that caused smoke, a little bit of oil probably didn’t hurt it, but you’re probably going to change the type of spark plugs you use anyways.
Where did you get that gauge? Need one for my 180. Canadian prices are crazy for them lol
Amazon is where he said to go
Princess auto sells em for 60 cad.. up to 30psi and they're led and tinted glass.
Filipe Moniz I’ve already got a boost gauge need an AFR though
Destin Ginnis i found it on EBay for 160. AEM AFR gauge.
TheTacoNinja809 Canadian?
My 1999 Honda civic DX hatchback had the same problem
when you boost your car you don't need to turn either one on. you will wear down the battery on the car that your using to boost the other one.
Get non foulers for the oxygen sensors
That's not bad. It's a broken rocker cover gasket. Easy fix
Replace tube seals should be good
idk about ur civic but my 97 civic has individual seals for the valve cover where it meets the spark plug holes and thats supposedly a pretty common thing to go bad on civics... might be that...
Also good luck with the Dyno
I had the same issue with my miata with the oil in the spark plugs and it turned out it was my valve cover gasket because one of the bolts were loose
DO A MEETUP IN TORONTO!!!!! i'm sure me and many other people would show up in a heartbeat
The guy who said it's the tube seals is right
Lucky y’all didn’t hydro lock the engine with all the oil that poured in when you pulled the plugs
Did you ever vent the stock PCV? If you didn't then that's why you have oil in your spark plugs tubes.
i had the exact same thing wrong with my ford focus it was a bad valve cover gasket
bad spark plug tube seals. cheap fix guys get a new valve cover gasket set. all will be fine
Thanks Robbie! Love you fam
I like how Robbie sucks it up admits when he's wrong 😂
That’s just the spark plug tube seals and the reason it smoked when u started it is because that oil leaked into the combustion chamber and had to burn off, lol my Honda has the same problem but I don’t want to spend 35$ in gaskets to replace them all.... it’s in my channel
You need to change your valve gaskets
I paid 50$cad for my wideband and all that came with it.
Can’t wait to see how it does at Dino
just change your valve cover already!!! its like $30 and comes with those seals
SEND IT!!
Rocker cover gasket is the issue
Valve cover gasket set IS NOT the same as a head gasket Emerson...
Almost at 100k subs bro!!
Cant wait for Dyno Day😬🔥
Smoke show without burning tires
7:40 ...that's what she said (Why am I still 12 years old mentally...)
I believe theres O gaskets around the spark plug holes I believe
Probably rocker cover gasket leaking oil in spark plug hole
dont know shit about cars but this is enjoyable
I wish id have myself an emerson/chris. Keep up the good work man
Definitely valve cover gasket. Would not be head gasket.
Been watching from the stary love this channel
Easy fix take valve cover off an change gasket
Keep up the good work love your channel and this build
Get canards and an aggressive splitter
please replace the valve cover gasket guys :D
The Best Part Of The Day Stay Committed!!! Great Content Robbie.
How Much Is It To Take To The Dyno....Bc I Have The Same Exact Car And I Would Like To Take Mine Robbie !!!
Have the exact problem with my car, it burns a ton of much oil
Still out here with the lit content
it might be the spark plug tubes that is leaking (not a pro tho)
whats the sad piano song that plays during the colour blind thing ? i always forget the name
Bro its valve cover gasket same thing happend to me
you literally work on all the cars that i am interested in* , I love this channel
Damn the tease is soooo real ahaha I’m hyped!
TURBO GUARD!!!!
Valve cover gasket
It's just a bad valve cover gasket it's cheap
Most likely your spark plug gaskets on your valve cover are shot 🤦🏻♀️
Make a video of how to fix it !
Wish i could go to H2O.... One Day... One day...
Should've used a tampon to soak most of it up then take the spark plugs out ._\
of course you're coming to Maryland when I'm away at college :(
Coming to my state robbie, what days
