Great question. UVO and Navigation are two separate entities. You can only order one or the other. The reason for this is the head unit for the GPS will replace the UVO unit, thus providing you with a much larger touch screen and more options.

No trouble at all. The navigation package is just that. With the nav package you get a much larger touch screen display for music, maps and the back up camera. UVO simply provides more features in terms of hands free driving. What you will have to do is decide what is more beneficial for your driving lifestyle. Here at Kia of Hamilton, we like the UVO feature over the nav simply because of the popularity of smart phone maps, although it is difficult to shy away from the big touch screen.

Hey there! Sorry for the late response.
Our navigation units are not activated through voice control. It is more for stereo and bluetooth.

There seems to be some conflicting information online about this feature. I am told that American vehicles have the option for voice-activated navigation, while Canadians do not.

i went to a dealer to get this car. for whatever reason they pushed me away from this model and i got the optima. obviously the pricepoints are way diffreint and i like the car but dont know if i made the right move with money. am i stuck in the optima or is there a way to get into the rio before its to late

+Eric Lupo Way to go. The car salesmen were probably laughing all the way to the bank with you. It's YOU with the power, not THEM. You never just "let them talk me into it" when you're looking at financing the 2nd most expensive investment in your life next to a home.
edit: So I saw your comment was over a year ago. What happened, you still "stuck" with the Optima?
