@@NeighborhoodCarReviews I had that same model in same color paint and interior but mine was a 1979 with a 400 motor. Nice car, but I sold it because did not like the color to much. It is a good mood calming color though.
The mark v is my dream restoration car. The older i get, the more impossible it seems. My dad had one when i was a kid and i loved it. Unfortunately it was stolen and totaled :/. I felt like the coolest kid getting dropped off in it.
Nice review. However, it's not a 4-valve engine. It's a 2-valve engine. Maybe you saw the term "4-V" written somewhere. That means "4 venturi" which refers to the carburetor design. Most people would use the expression "4-barrel" to describe it.
not having a sunroof probably saved this car...they all leak after a while...only getting worse as the years go by. indeed, the interior looks incredible...that off-white with the dark red buckles is as nice an interior as any ever...truly stunning. someone got themselves a real dreamboat.
Pretty car. I'd have paid $12K 5 years ago when a dealer would have asked $16K. Today times are a changing. I'd still offer $10K although a dealer would have it marked $35K or more. Good Luck and thanks for showing this. It is now a documentary of Cars of the 70's.
I am still in love with that huge hood - what a GORGEOUS car, love the color. I was surprised to see that it did not have the “AutoLamp” feature to turn lights on/off, I wonder if that is because of the headlight covers? I was so into the American luxury cars as a kid, with family owning bustle-back Seville, Eldorado Biarritz, 1st/2nd gen Continentals and I learned to drive on an ‘85 Town Car. Now I own an S and an SL class Mercedes, VERY different cars, but I still have a soft spot for the luxury behemoths of my youth. TY for the video share!
They all have covered headlights. The Autolamp/Autodim was an option (except for the Diamond Jubille and Collectors Series cars, where it was standard).
My mother just inherited my grandfather's Mark V in the Champagne color. It is in pristine condition! I was shocked today as i was taking pictures for the insurance at how it looks very near as it must've coming off the car lot. My grandfather was the original owner & it has only 15k miles on it! The leather is soooo nice & plush!
WATCHING THESE BEAUTIFUL AMAZING CARS THAT THEY USE 2 MAKE IS GREAT ALL THESE CARS HAD THEIR OWN PERSONALITY NOW THE CARS ALL LOOK THE SAME. RICHY RUDELL. BKLYN. BY NY NY
My only regret is not buying this car! I loved every minute of filming this. Then, 1 year later, I revisited it, re-filmed it and added more details! I couldn’t believe it when that happend!!
My dream classic car I was introduced to these kinds of cars thanks to an 80s disney movie. Oliver and Co the villain Bill Sykes. Bill's cadillac is a mk V lincoln continental and that's why I love them and wish to own one someday.
Such a beautiful car. I'm sure that car rides and drives like a dream..This was when Lincoln were set apart from everyone.nowadsys these new Lincolns look like Fords with fancy chrome and upgraded leather and front wheel drive. Sad
Nice car. indeed. The trunck butten is electric, not vacuum. The trunk is not large. If you have travelled in a 1978 Town Car, you are in for a surprise if you don't travel with soft bags. I never understood why the Mark Vs do not have a center arm rest in the rear seat.
I have a 79 Town car in the same colour. Doesn’t seem to be a very common colour. This is the only other Lincoln I’ve seen in real life or online in light champagne. 🧐
I'm old I remember when these cars were brand new I had a friend who owned one and it still had that new car smell. You forgot to point out the ashtrays
+Jac2Mac I believe all DJE’s and 1979 Collector Editions had the chime, which was a mechanical bell and striker. The Designer Series cars had that as an option and the standard Marks had the buzzer.
Nice review. However one bit of criticism however. There is too much distortion. Your lens is severely wide angle and wants to get everything in view by "bending" the subjects. The end result is not pleasant. Something to consider in future videos. Have a good day
+styldsteel1 Yeah. I’m in the process of getting a new camera. Just working with what I have at the moment. It’s not ideal, but I guess it’s better than nothing. Hopefully soon I’ll have new equipment.
+Dave Cowdrey Honestly I have no idea. I don’t work for dealerships and I don’t own the car.

Dave Cowdrey Visit www.dbtires.com They have the most amazing tires in the entire world. When you download their free catalogue, you will be speechless.
My cousin's mother had one the Burgundy wine that look just like this one y'all should have seen her try to turn it around🤣🤷♂️ that is a beautiful car when they came out they were ridiculously gorgeous all of those beautiful colors and champagnes greens stripes two tone never to happen again I don't think but they were some kind of gorgeous those big old white wall tires they used to move with the spookiness🤷♂️🤷♂️🌹❤
Papo Cam Sadly, that’s one of the few options they original buyer didn’t select. This car, at $16,678 in 1978 USD was already incredibly expensive. In 2018 USD comparison, that’s equal to $65,291!!
Actually, they're quite functional. Once, I had to "kiss bumpers" to help a stalled vehicle get off of the road. It was gentle, no damage, and those cars are strong!
Those clueless Ford designers of the 70s did not even know how to use ugly black plastic everywhere, especially on the doors. And they thought in terms of different interior colors, upholstery, and accents. What losers. Imagine how much we have learned since!
All they've learned since then has been to make all the cars look, feel and drive the same, regardless of the manufacturer or segment. Now a Ford Escape is similarly equipped to a Lincoln Corvair and you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference in ride quality.
WORK OF ART!!!
What a beautiful car. Class act. Period.
Good to see that some of the Grand Ladies are still out there and look so good. This car is a true survivor!
I remember these so well. They were quite popular despite their high price. Back when the Lincoln name really meant something. Nice review!
+David M I wish I had the money to buy this car. If I did, no questions asked.

This was Jock Ewing's car

Nice review! And what a great looking car. Who knew cars had electric windows all the way back in the 70s!
+100 Rental Cars Thank you! I really enjoyed this one! And, they had power windows all the way back to the late 40's. Those were hydraulic operated.

I thought the Cartier model had opera lights that wrapped in the red to accent the roof?
Did the 1978 Lincoln Diamond Jubilee Edition ever come with a chime or just the classic buzzer?

Bzzzzzz?!!! In a Lincoln?!!! No chimes to remind you to buckle up?
That was an opinion
Those hideous crash bumpers don't do this design any favors.
dj33036 .dj63010 Actually, those huge heavy steel bumpers are one of my favorite features. I think they look outrageously gorgeous.
I love mine been wanting one since I was 7 years old in those days these cars were all over town it was the Escalade of the late 70s early 80s

What?
