If you listen to the various versions of a song like "Holy War" you will hear them continually adding to it, making it even better with each performance. That perfectionism is a big reason they are such a great band.

Thank you for your reaction. This song is called "Holy War"🤗( from Live Album / DVD / Blue Ray "Heavy Metal Never Dies - Live in Tokyo 2021" ). This concert took place on March 26, 2021. At the beginning of 2021, a new wave of Covid-19 began in Japan. The Japanese government declared a state of emergency. The concert Tour of LOVEBITES was rescheduled to March - April 2021 and took place in compliance with anti-COVID security measures: the hall was not completely filled (many people who wanted to get to the concert could not buy tickets), social distance between viewers, all spectators in masks, the audience it is forbidden to loudly express one's emotions (shouting), only applause is allowed, etc. LOVEBITES risked their health during a concert that lasted 2 hours! Unlike the audience, they were not wearing masks. In addition, during this Tour, Miyako (brunette/ guitar, piano) was 4-5 months pregnant. These ladies are professionals of the highest level! I was a bit confused at first once I received YT notification about this video and it only mentioned Heavy Metal Dies (maybe it's the data about this performance/release). That's actually quite situation to perform under the restrictions etc. and I really respect this band and their work ethics that can be seen from this performance. I played my final exam concert that can be seen on this channel basically to an empty concert hall which was a bit frustrating and that way I can relate a bit to their situation.

These are Miyako’s “peaks” (in my opinion): 'Dystopia Symphony', 'Lost in the Garden', 'Soldier Stands Solitarily', 'Swan Song', 'Shadowmaker', 'When Destinies Align'. @ Actually there's many female musician that really good on their instruments. But when it comes to be a band, their music wasn't good. The only western female band that I think got some vibes is The Warning but still far to achieve a level like Lovebites does & there's still many Japanese female band even better than Lovebites. You should check them out.

Exactly! There are really great female musicians, intrumentalists etc. but I agree with you that there aren't really bands that are around the same level with Lovebites. I think this band was really nice to discover and it would be even more interesting to go a bit deeper into the japanese metal music. As a contrast I could take a look at the Finnish metal bands that has been successful in Japan (something like Mokoma).

Miho, bass and band founder, wanted a Western sound vs a Japanese sound so the bands songs are final mixed by Mikko Karmila and mastered by Mika Jussilka in Finland, they also work with Nightwish. "Holy War" was written by Miho, bass and their producer Mao. All write with Miyako, black hair, having written about half with Asami, vocals the primary lyricist. Miyako has never had guitar lessons!! she started piano at 3 yo, picked up the guitar at 17/18 yo getting a "How To" book and a guitar. Midori, ponytail didn't start playing the guitar until she was 20 yo Relisten to this song and focus on Haruna the drummer. She is one the top drummers in the world and plays at this pace for entire concert! There are 200+ Rock/Metal bands with about half all female, All with superb musicians and singers. So you have a lot of reactions of to do!!!

Those are really interesting facts! I kind of started too with classical piano when I was 3-4yo and switched to guitar around 13yo. That’s why it’s really exciting to take a closer look at the compositional elements and influences. Someone mentioned Swan song with piano intro, so that’ll be interesting! I have to agree that the drumming is really on point here but I’ll take another look at it and pay more attention to it.

Another Japanese band for you to react to is: Band Maid, currently on tour is the USA.tour is sold-out! They are a Rock band, all female. The composer is Kanami Tono, lead guitar. She began piano at 3 yo, and picked up the guitar in High School to be in the "cool" crowd.

Oh yeah, It's minor detail there as you mentioned. I had this really short moment once I was really sure where I've heard it but then once I started explaining I wasn't 100% sure anymore. Really love Sonata Arctica and I think it was one of the most popular band that my siblings and cousins used to listen to early 00's. It was like COB, Nightwish, Stratovarius and Sonata Arctica that we used to listen to.
Because you are a guitar player I can highly recommend "Scream For Me" by Lovebites. When was the last time that you did listen to 14 guitar solos in one song?

100% agree with you!!! 👍 I would even add that the level of LOVEBITES surpasses most of the male metal bands in Europe and America in every way, with all due respect to these bands. LOVEBITES is a phenomenon in the metal world.
Yeah, That’s a really interesting point! There may be multiple reasons why the situation is like that but i really hope bands like Lovebites also inspire more women to pick up instruments too.
@ Actually there's many female musician that really good on their instruments. But when it comes to be a band, their music wasn't good. The only western female band that I think got some vibes is The Warning but still far to achieve a level like Lovebites does & there's still many Japanese female band even better than Lovebites. You should check them out.
Exactly! There are really great female musicians, intrumentalists etc. but I agree with you that there aren't really bands that are around the same level with Lovebites. I think this band was really nice to discover and it would be even more interesting to go a bit deeper into the japanese metal music. As a contrast I could take a look at the Finnish metal bands that has been successful in Japan (something like Mokoma).

Miho, bass and band founder, wanted a Western sound vs a Japanese sound so the bands songs are final mixed by Mikko Karmila and mastered by Mika Jussilka in Finland, they also work with Nightwish.
"Holy War" was written by Miho, bass and their producer Mao. All write with Miyako, black hair, having written about half with Asami, vocals the primary lyricist.
Miyako has never had guitar lessons!! she started piano at 3 yo, picked up the guitar at 17/18 yo getting a "How To" book and a guitar. Midori, ponytail didn't start playing the guitar until she was 20 yo
Relisten to this song and focus on Haruna the drummer. She is one the top drummers in the world and plays at this pace for entire concert!
There are 200+ Rock/Metal bands with about half all female, All with superb musicians and singers. So you have a lot of reactions of to do!!!
Those are really interesting facts! I kind of started too with classical piano when I was 3-4yo and switched to guitar around 13yo. That’s why it’s really exciting to take a closer look at the compositional elements and influences. Someone mentioned Swan song with piano intro, so that’ll be interesting! I have to agree that the drumming is really on point here but I’ll take another look at it and pay more attention to it.

Another Japanese band for you to react to is: Band Maid, currently on tour is the USA.tour is sold-out! They are a Rock band, all female. The composer is Kanami Tono, lead guitar. She began piano at 3 yo, and picked up the guitar in High School to be in the "cool" crowd.

Available in digital, cd, dvd and blu ray format. They did this concert under severe restrictions because of the covid.

Oh yeah, It's minor detail there as you mentioned. I had this really short moment once I was really sure where I've heard it but then once I started explaining I wasn't 100% sure anymore. Really love Sonata Arctica and I think it was one of the most popular band that my siblings and cousins used to listen to early 00's. It was like COB, Nightwish, Stratovarius and Sonata Arctica that we used to listen to.
Because you are a guitar player I can highly recommend "Scream For Me" by Lovebites. When was the last time that you did listen to 14 guitar solos in one song?
Oh yeah, that sounds exciting! As the one famous Swedish guitar player once said "More is more", I believe that song is going to be epic!

Soittavat progehtavaa melodista deathmetallia, paras biisiehdotus voisi olla Crack of Light ja suoraviivaisempi olisi Befallen. Kannattaa kokeilla, jos ei ole jo ennestään tuttu.
