It's been 11 years since I've heard this song for the first time. I had so many suicide thoughts... I'm so glad I didn't give in... I wouldn't have love, traveled, and met amazing people... So many beautiful moments I had... What a life... A simple, but blessed life. Thank you guy... You have been saving people!!!
@Spamac - Sad news from the future, the religious extremists and anti-LGBT are trying their best to force a constitutional amendment to overturn the Supreme Court ruling and explicitly define marriage as only between one man and one woman. (As well as trying to define transgender individuals out of existence, that only "biological gender" matters.)
They will never win though cause Love conquers all and too many people are now for gay marriage and transgender rights! Have faith and let’s stand together and never give up!
Oh, I hope everyone who's hurting can see this - thank you, thank you, thank you, for sharing your gifts with us and your powerful message. It does it better!!!!!
after hearing this, I do feel better for a long time I really do feel lighter. iv been having the worst couple of months and this reminded me that it will get better and that there is light around the corner I just have to keep getting up X3 thank you so much for posting this
This made me cry too. It breaks my heart to think kids are dying because they don't have the support to live their life as God made them. They need to hear that it does get better. What a great song with awesome voices!! Great Video.
Just to let anyone know whoever watches this video. It does get better! I was bulled since I was 3. It gets better, things will be brighter and no matter what there will always be people around. I was bullied all of Elementary, Middle School, and HS. I even had gatorade bottles halfway filled thrown at me in class. Many times we think we're not strong, we're weak. But people are stretching their arms out for love and support. Know you're never alone! You are beautiful no matter what anyone says.
This song/performance is wonderful. I sent the link to my 4 children. I posted it on FB. I purchased ths song on Itunes and I joined the project. To all who gave this video to the world and to every person who has shared a video, THANK YOU!
having worked as a Company Manager for many years and 'retired' to run a B&B in Ashland Oregon, this video reminds me of the giving nature of so many of my friends and family in that previous life I had. Thank you to everyone who participated to make this video...
I heard this song almost a week ago at my theatre group . We all shared our depression stories & our directors played this song & brung us all to tears. This song is so beautiful & what keeps my hope alive .
You guys make me cry .I felt like my angel were next to me . Blessed u all. Continue your good work. I wish u all success. In the fight. Live ,have hope, never give up.
This is truly amazing. To all of those people who feel like there isn't any hope, there is. It does get better. I'm straight, but I've watched friends get bullied and stuck up for them and been a shoulder for them to cry on when they have needed it. There is always someone there for you. Please don't give up. The world IS a better place because you are here.
I honestly believe that one day, we won't need songs like these. One day, these acts of kindness and beauty that bring tears to our eyes will no longer be necessary. One day, everyone will believe this message. One day, everyone will know that no matter what you are, you can be strong and proud of who you are. I dream of the day when I no longer am so affected by these beautiful social movements because it's just the way things are.
I couldn't stop crying when I was watching and listening to this. I hope this video helps out anybody who feels they are bullied and alienated cause of who they are. Life does get better
as a 57 year old gay man, this song brought tears to my eyes, remembering those days, these days. thanks u have done the world some real good with this.
As a 64 yr. old gay man, I am so pleased to see you all supporting the younger generations! Thank you. And to everyone out there reading this... it DOES get better!
I think everyone in this production - the 26 singers and the songwriters and musicians are all living proof that not only does it get better - it can get amazingly better! Seeing Jacob Clemente (Billy Elliot) singing his butt off with so much compassion is incredible! Blair & Jay et al, , ,a million thumbs up!
My theatre company and I just performed this the other night. Before the show, we all practiced together and it just gave us all the chills. Then, as our finale, we came out and sung our hearts out. We all were on the verge of tears. This song just truly inspires all of us. This foundation is just truly amazing
I am a lesbian and I'm Christian. To the 24 people who disliked this, I am praying for you. Who said God's love is conditional? I do remember hearing "Love your neighbor as yourself" and if you hate your neighbor (aka the LGBT community) you are just hating yourself. Last time I checked, Jesus had two dads and He turned out just fine. It gets better!
My theatre group and I are singing this at our benefit concert and I just want to say that I feel HONORED to sing this song! Thank you to the Trevor project for all you do.
You all are *awesome*!!! My teen daughter has come out, and although I love her dearly, I am concerned about the attitudes so prevalent in society today. I know she is strong, but for her to know that there are others like her out there, going through the same stuff, and that others have walked this road before her and made it-- it makes a world of difference!!!
One of the most inspirational videos on TH-cam! Thanks to all who contributed to this - and for sending the proceeds from the iTunes download to The Trevor Project. It's people like these that are making a difference.
Just a amazing video. I'm 28 years old and from Brazil. If when I was a teenager this type o project already exist it would have been easier to hold on. Congratulations!!!
If I had seen and heard this when I was young, I think my life would have been completely different. I was terrified of coming out until I was 25. This is a fine contribution by the Broadway community - THANK YOU.
You don't know how much this video helped me in the process of coming out. It gave me hope, and courage. I cry every time I watch this. I plan to send this video to anyone who I feel needs it.
I needed to hear this right now. I am from a small area, and I am openly gay and proud. Even still, sometimes I feel very alone. And I need to constantly strive to make things better. Thank you Trevor Project for reminding me that I'm not alone, and that I will find peace!
Thank you for this beautiful "fight song!!" And believe me, I am SO glad I stuck around!! When I was a kid, there was a month when every night I looked at the bottle of pills in my nightstand drawer, and thought "not tonight." After that month, something happened. I never did understand it. But without actually thinking and deciding, I woke up one day, knowing I was going to LIVE, and IT GOT BETTER!!! Thanks again to all of you and Dan Savage and everyone else who's doing so much to help!!
I personally am so glad you're still with us. I've been in the exact same place as you were back then. I had those thoughts for over a decade. Things have gotten so much better! Keep waking up everyday and fight. Hugs!
as president of the SpectrUM at the University of Miami i can guarantee this will be going viral at UM!!! we need to stand together and support each other. it does get better! i promise!
I'm in what seems like a hopeless situation right now with my "family" and honestly I don't know what I'd do without little pieces of encouragement like this song. I'm so grateful for music it's always there no matter what. Thank You for this piece you have surely saved lives
Watching this makes me want to cry. As I plan to be on Broadway someday, it really touches me when I realize that someday, I can make a difference in someone's life. Great video/song.
Absolutely Gorgeous, Wish this was going on when I was younger but it makes my heart sore to the heavens to see so many people reaching out to the young'ens of future generations. Thank you for a great video
Hi! I'm from Hungary in Europe. There were in my school bullies. But we found each other and beceame friends. Now the school protects us, after telling our stories to the headteacher. And this song makes me sure there is a light in the life. IT GETS BETTER!
This is totally awesome! Thank you from a Mom of a gay son who had my unconditional love from the day he was conceived, the day he was born, the day he "came out" and always. We are the lucky ones!
Such a beautiful and joyful message! With so much hate and violence in the world, it's almost-spiritual-to see such unapologetic and inspiring love for humankind. It doesn't matter who you are, where you come from, where you've gone or where you're going...this message holds true to people of all faiths, backgrounds and identities. Thank you for this, Broadway!
What an awesome project. I just clicked replay again and again and again. This song gave me goose bumps. The tear just didn't fall but was on it's way. OUTSTANDING!
People forget that we're all unique and we all have different things to offer the world. When I was bullied (for many reasons) as a kid, I thought there was something wrong with me. Now I know there was something wrong with THEM. Kudos for putting together a song to give to the rest of the world to give all of us hope, to help us all believe that we're one step closer to the kind of acceptance that stops all the hate. I can only hope I see that change in my own lifetime. THANK YOU, Broadway.
Okay, it brought tears to my eyes. Thank you! So this movement cannot stop. As gay and lesbian adults we need to support our little brothers and sisters. We have a mission. Be authentic and in our beauty and power. They need to see us all!
This is a facebook status I left after attending my freshman orientation at college: "Orientation has changed my perspective on life so much. So much, that never throughout these past 18 years would I have been able to believe it to be true. Countless years of pretending to be happy, countless nights of crying in bed- wishing everything were different. Those days are finally over. Life really does get better." I am a living proof that it gets better.
I cannot stop listening to this song. Even though it makes me cry remembering my own times of struggle, the Trevor Project and all of it's supporters is making it easier for us all to to make it through. Thank you for giving us this lasting, musical, tribute. I cannot believe I personally know some of these fantasticly beautiful and talented singers (represent Boston Conservatory!) Together we can all make it better! LOVE!
this song is really moving. as someone who was bullied all through school, it's really great to see such talented people coming together to speak, well sing, against bullying and show that it truly does get so much better.
This song still holds a special place in my life 11 years later ❤️
Every time I’m down, I always come back to this 😭
Been listening to this song ever since it came out... Such an inspirational song!!! Great Job everyone! :)
it still makes me cry every time I watch it. God bless you all

It really did get better ! Congratulations to the States ! Marriage equality is here ! Love conquers all !

This brought tears to my eyes
First time I have seen the video but the message is clear
What a beautiful reassurance... just beautiful!
I just showed this video to my 23 month old baby. He loved it. Thank you for making a better world for him and his two moms!
as a 'bullying survivor,' this video gets to me every time
Oh, I hope everyone who's hurting can see this - thank you, thank you, thank you, for sharing your gifts with us and your powerful message. It does it better!!!!!
This is amazing for people who are bullied or depressed, not just for LGBT teens
All these years later....the message is as important now as it was then. I love Jay Kuo for this.
after hearing this, I do feel better for a long time I really do feel lighter. iv been having the worst couple of months and this reminded me that it will get better and that there is light around the corner I just have to keep getting up X3 thank you so much for posting this

It has been years ago since I was bullied, since I considered suicide.
But this song still gets me crying every time.

I love how people come together in so many different ways to show support, well done to the Broadway theatre teams. Stephen
Over a year later, and this is still the best EVER musical response to the whole bullying phenom.... Thanks!
I plan on sharing this in my English class for our Power of Words unit. This left me speechless and filled me with hope.

Lump in my throat. Beautiful artists singing for a terribly important cause. Thanks
As a New York hetero and former victim of gay bullying, I thank you for making this video.
I teared up.
