Even on a computer, you can feel the anointing on this song. I have been watching this every year and I love seeing the people witnessing this magnificent piece, praising our Lord, the perfect Lamb, who takes away the sin of the world.
your accolade honors the season and the One born; the Magi were also not of the faith, so to speak; I sense you have the heart of Scrooge after his transformation, in whose heart the Spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come live
So I'm back, 12 years later, 12 years older, but this is as magnificent as the day that it happened in a food court of all places. It was mesmerizing then and still is. Merry Christmas everyone.
Anyone who has ever sung this Chorus remembers what part they sang. I sang bass for this almost 50 years ago, and still remember my part-note for note! This is one of those choruses that once you sing it, you NEVER forget it!
Exactly! That's something you never for get. I sang first soprano and hit all those high notes, somehow. I sing second soprano now, but I remember that too. How could you possibly forget something as majestic as this song.
Same here. I sang the bass/baritone part 48 years ago. I still remember the entire thing. I sang along with this video. It was so good. First time I sang it, I was a first tenor...then my voice changed :P
This was my mamas favorite Christmas video. We probably watched it a thousand times over a span of 8 years. She loved it!. She would allow herself the tiniest prideful smile when she'd turn her friends or anyone visiting on to it. At 92 she felt so cool knowing what You-tube, a Flashmob, to 'cast' a program and the term 'going viral' meant. When I watch this now I can still feel her hand held tightly in mine while we watched just like the mamas and their children watching it the first time. Somehow the beauty of the moment always made her hand find mine. Sometimes our hands found my son's and we would stop all the business of the season and form a chain as we listened. Such a precious gift. You were cool mama. you were the coolest ever and I miss you with every breath. Thankyou to those people who made this ten short years ago. I hope you have some idea of the Joy your efforts brought to the world. A Blessed New Year to Everyone.

@@lynerobinson7809 I'm so sorry for your loss, Lyne. Yes, I'm sure she is. 🙂 Metastasized breast cancer took my mom from me years before her time. Christmas was our favorite time of the year, both together and individually. My mom introduced me to Handel's Messiah by way of a live performance when I was quite young. In an effort to not be so depressed at Christmas since her passing, I have made it a tradition to play the entire Messiah first thing every Christmas morning. I don't think it's possible to stay depressed after listening to The Halleluia Chorus. Not only that, but about 15 years ago, I discovered that I had learned the lyrics to the entire Messiah by heart (I have learned music by ear since the ripe old age of six). Anytime I get the opportunity to perform the Messiah, or merely the finale itself, I jump at the chance. I do, and will always think of my mother when I hear it. I wish you the same blessing. 🙏🏻
I still listen to this pretty often, just because it’s so beautiful. It is now 12 years since they first sang this. Imagine if these beautiful singers sang that today in a mall. 2023. They would be hauled off to jail. So very sad how times have changed… But God will make all things new! 🙏
If I was in the food court tryna eat my china wok and this broke out around me, I feel like I would just float on up to Heaven. Absolutely magnificent..
Richard Livermore Dear Troll, it is a testament to the fact that even though u troll and use disgusting language, I can say that I hope this message has brought u back to the video and remind u that "he shall reign forever and ever" and he loves u too!
Michael White Yes it is class, and if he had listened to the words, I would not have received a message from him saying it was not religious. Btw, glad u enjoyed it too.
I read that certain music is composed in the higher levels (in the astral planes of existence, at a higher dimensional frequency zone of reality. In the higher realms of the astral are the various versions of heaven, for example, although there are lower regions with lower vibes definitely not angelic!). Then these special songs are vibrationally/intuitively "downloaded" through musicians who can assume the correct wavelength to pick up that signal. Not all music, not even a majority, is necessarily composed higher up then sent down, but such music arrives as if fully written to the musician, who just needs to write it out as they hear it in their head. My famous composer friend has explained the difference; she said that kind of song just arrives and flows through the guitar and words onto paper complete, as is, words and tune and harmonies and chords as if already written and just downloaded in a single sitting; while other songs are composed here laboriously, slaving over the lyrics and chord progressions that are best... those can take as long as years before they come to completion. But since she isn't writing multi-part choral music, it could take two weeks to "channel" something like this and get it all just as heard in the head - especially since Handel didn't have any recording equipment. 🙂
My brother had a western civ class in college, and the prof offered an automatic A to anyone who could hand copy Handel’s Messiah, you got the whole semester to do it. No one ever had, lol. And neither did he.
I'm not a Christian, and yet this never gets old. The first flash mob I saw on TH-cam, and still the best. The look of amazement of the kids faces (especially the one with the Gap shirt) and the smiles of the food court diners are new every year, even though this video is ten years old. And, on top of everything else, these are talent vocalists, even if not specifically professionals.
There was a time when I wasn't a Christian. Now I understand that what we see and feel while watching this video is just a tiny sampling of what we'll experience the day He returns with concourses of angels praising God and singing. As Handel repeated in another number from "The Messiah", "... and all flesh shall see it together."
This remains my favourite flash mob. I find it astonishing how many people try to capture it on their phones rather than sitting and soaking up a never-to-be-repeated experience that can never be “captured”. One guy about halfway through you can see just appreciating. He is a smart guy.
If it weren't on video then 54 million people wouldn't have seen it. You wouldn't have seen it. This is why we always pour one out for the camera guy's sacrifice.
“Never to be repeated”? You do know how silly that sounds, right? I’ve seen at least 10 other videos of hallelujah flash mobs just this afternoon, almost all as good as this one. A particularly good one was done at the Wanamaker’s in Philadelphia, “a random act of culture.”
Please don't ever take down this video, it's a wonderful experience even on video! I've often wondered how many singers were involved, and what church or choral group they belong to at the time. The music is difficult to sing, but their harmonies are perfect, and the joy on the faces of the singers, as well as the public enjoying the music, are guaranteed to make you smile when you listen to this flash mob! Uplifting, and inspiring, I return to this version of Handel's masterpiece every Easter and Christmas to share it online with friends. I come to watch it the rest of the year just to be renewed with praise to Jesus, The King of Kings, Lord of Lords!
I get that. I have this weird quirk where I get weepy seeing live performances. There’s something about seeing a group of people performing as one with skill and precision that hits me right in the gut. There’s just something about things coming together in perfect harmony that moves me. I’ve been known to tear up watching brass bands. It’s kind of embarrassing...
@@BeeWhistler That is exactly the case with me! Any time I get the privilege of attending "The Nutcracker", i need to take a box of tissues along because the beauty and magic of it is so overwhelming it moves me to nonstop tears throughout the show, and my sinus problem only makes it worse. Tschaikovsky's works always do that to me as well as Handel and others. A few days ago waiting in line at a supermarket, suddenly the intercom was playing the glorious "Waltz of the Flowers" from that show. I had no tissues with me and had trouble fighting back the tears.
I cried from happiness while watching this. It filled me with hope that at any moment human beings have the capacity to come together and all our differences can simply melt away as none of them, in the whole scheme of life, are important.
Most beautiful rendition of my favorite chorus I've ever heard!! It thrilled me that Jesus was being proclaimed in such an awe-inspiring way - among many people who do not yet know Him. Now that was a Must See, unlike all of the click bait on TH-cam. Praise God Forever!!!! Amen!!!
I love watching people show their love for their Lord and Savior.
God doesn't exist

John,God loves you.
The music has a basis in religion but that has nothing to do with the enjoyment of it. It is just damn good music.
\
Alan Liefting I agree , I love these people. Soo cool.
It's almost like seeing a miracle happen. The music just hits you in a place where the only thing you feel is overwhelming hope and joy and a sense that we are indeed going to be all right.
Wow did you describe this on point as a miracle unfolding. Incredible beauty and inspiration.
“I remember every word from when I was in choir and can still sing my part right along” “Makes me cry every time”
YES & YES! One of the most beautiful and powerful pieces written, ever. It moves all who sing it and most who hear it. It makes you want to join hands with the people next to you. It makes you want to raise your arms at the final hallelujah. It makes you want to give glory to God. Thanks *again* for this performance and this blessing of a reminder of so many good things.
Made me cry too, glad I'm not the only one. It looked like one of the boys was almost in tears too.
I know my part, words too. One of the most inspired works ever written and performed ever...!
Your words are true, this beautiful inspiring composition is timeless and still reaches into the inner heart and lifts us beyond our burdens to eternal praises of HIM🥰💕💕💕💕
I sang the sop part in school nearly sixty years ago. Don't have quite the range now but still sing along every time I watch this
@@susaniacuone5758 I bet you can still sing the sop part.
Magnificent! Brings tears! Christ, the reason for the season

I'm not a believer but this song was done so well can't help but enjoy it.

My all time favorite flash mob video. I play it when the world gets away from me. So uplifting. ❤
Ten years later and it still has the power to make other people smile. It WAS a very special gift. Thank you and Merry Christmas.
Do you know where this was?
@@jaysky2000 APPARENTLY, it was in a mall in Welland Ontario. I haven't checked to ever confirm that though. But at 00:16 there is an OLG lottery booth on the right side. That would confirm it was in Canada somewhere.

No matter how many times I hear it, it still gives me GOOSEBUMPS
My favorite flash mob ever. It wouldn't be Christmas without this. So many thanks to everyone who made this possible.
I sang this in 1962. I remember the entire piece, words and music. It moves me to tears every time I hear it. Yes. Now as well.
For me it was 1964. High school Concert Choir. Alto....I still remember every note.
I was in the glee and choir in 1976 & 77 and sang baritone and the practice and rehearsals of this song brings back great moments and memories of high school. Most of all one of the Greatest Songs of our Savior JESUS The CHRIST. HE is returning soon. 2020
Me too. Voices of Omaha. 1993. So much joy!
it never gets old, God Bless all and merry Christmas

🎄⛄❄☃️🎄💝 Merry Christmas ♥️❄☃️⛄🎄
Yeah, even though this was from 2010, I’m still watching it in 2024!! It’s beautiful, amazing, delightful, and I can’t stop watching it, or getting the tune out of my head, trying to sleep!
Even on a computer, you can feel the anointing on this song. I have been watching this every year and I love seeing the people witnessing this magnificent piece, praising our Lord, the perfect Lamb, who takes away the sin of the world.
I'm not a Christian by any stretch. But this piece always fills me with joy and brings me to tears, and this version is spectacular.
I love this too. I love flash mobs generally -- I save my favorites to watch when I need an infusion of joy in my life. :)
***** - God bless you on Christmas and always. Your family is with you always in your heart.
your accolade honors the season and the One born; the Magi were also not of the faith, so to speak; I sense you have the heart of Scrooge after his transformation, in whose heart the Spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come live
Nope. I've never really been scroogey. Sorry.

So I'm back, 12 years later, 12 years older, but this is as magnificent as the day that it happened in a food court of all places. It was mesmerizing then and still is. Merry Christmas everyone.
Watching this has become a Christmas tradition for me!
Still watching this in 2024 ❤ King of Kings and Lord of Lords!!!
Amen!
After all these years I just can't get enough of this. Praise the Lord!
Anyone who has ever sung this Chorus remembers what part they sang. I sang bass for this almost 50 years ago, and still remember my part-note for note!
This is one of those choruses that once you sing it, you NEVER forget it!
T
First soprano in high school we sang it in 1978
I sang tenor when I was in university back in 1968, and I still remember most of the parts I sang.
Hallelujah indeed! God bless all of you for blessing anyone who heard you that day and heard you via this video
Reduces me to tears every time I listen to this beautiful performance!
It's nice to know that im not the only one who watches this every year... and still tear up 😊
Every.... single.... time
It's that time of year again😊
Wow you made me cry. She is probably singing this song in heaven with all the angels!
May we all sing together to our Lord one day in Heaven!
92? Wow!
What lovely memories you share here!
I believe there's a special place in Heaven for those wonderful moms.
Thank you for sharing. 🙏🏻🙂
@@saundrajohnson1571 I lost my Mom February of this year, 2020, I know she is in heaven with Jesus listening to this!!!!! What a choir that has to be!!!!! God Bless America!!!!!
@@lynerobinson7809 I'm so sorry for your loss, Lyne. Yes, I'm sure she is. 🙂
Metastasized breast cancer took my mom from me years before her time.
Truly brings tears to my eyes. God is the King of Kings forever. Halleluah.
Every year when Christmas is getting close I watch this wonderful video. It fills my heart with joy and peace.
I still listen to this pretty often, just because it’s so beautiful. It is now 12 years since they first sang this. Imagine if these beautiful singers sang that today in a mall. 2023. They would be hauled off to jail. So very sad how times have changed… But God will make all things new! 🙏
What mall? So sad all malls around here are just barren wastelands.
I love the voice on the 2bd guy that got up and sang. What a handsome fella and what a powerful voice on him. This never gets old, ever!
SPECTACULAR AS ALWAYS!! I come back to this video when I need a little Jesus pick me up. THANK YOU!!
Very moving! Moved me to tears! So beautiful! In a country filled with so much hate and fascism in 2023, this is so healing! 🤗🇩🇪🇨🇭🇺🇲💙💙💙💙💙

This is the best flash mob ever executed, and I don't think anyone even wants to debate that.
Great to see the Lord given praise like this! Thank u!
No, it's a testament to art, not fucking religion.
Richard Livermore Dear Troll, it is a testament to the fact that even though u troll and use disgusting language, I can say that I hope this message has brought u back to the video and remind u that "he shall reign forever and ever" and he loves u too!
Richard Livermore Real class, ace...perhaps you should listen to the words.
Michael White Yes it is class, and if he had listened to the words, I would not have received a message from him saying it was not religious. Btw, glad u enjoyed it too.
I agree.
Watching this in December 2020. I shed healing tears.
I have viewed this so many times, it gives me the chills. To think Handel threw the Messiah together in 2 weeks.
That's what happens sometimes when you're divinely inspired. 🙂
I believe it is God inspired - taken by Handel, fresh from being in His Holy, awesome Presence.
My brother had a western civ class in college, and the prof offered an automatic A to anyone who could hand copy
Handel’s Messiah, you got the whole semester to do it. No one ever had, lol. And neither did he.
Someone else picked out the scriptures for him though...ready about it.
Very impressive performance. 👏 Perfect pitch! For a moment, I thought I was watching this in a concert hall.
All We Like Sheep, also by Handel and in the Messiah. Hear that one!
The song still holds true today, He will rein forever and ever. Amen.
12 years later and I still love this so much!
I used to go to the malls around Ft Worth, TX and Arlington, TX but never had one of these performances occur. How beautiful!
This brings tears to my eyes. I come back and watch it every Christmas.
Same for me brother.
Merry Christmas 😄

This remains my favourite flash mob. I find it astonishing how many people try to capture it on their phones rather than sitting and soaking up a never-to-be-repeated experience that can never be “captured”. One guy about halfway through you can see just appreciating. He is a smart guy.
If it weren't on video then 54 million people wouldn't have seen it. You wouldn't have seen it. This is why we always pour one out for the camera guy's sacrifice.
You should TH-cam amazing grace flash mob from a dutch train station. The beauty of it'll bring tears to your eyes.
And He shall reign forever and ever. Amen
Paddy The Red Dog ...yes Jesus the King of kings
I send this out every Christmas to my 45 Email friends. It still puts a lump in my throat. Merry Christmas.
This is one of the most joyful pieces of music ever written, thus a treat to sing or hear it.
This was sung by Chorus Niagara, took place in Welland, Ontario, Canada.
First time I've ever watched this. What caught me off guard is that it brought me to tears. Wow.
Every time you see it, it will probably do the same thing...
And He shall reign for ever and ever hallelujah! Amen! 2022…
Most beautiful rendition of my favorite chorus I've ever heard!!
It thrilled me that Jesus was being proclaimed in such an awe-inspiring way - among many people who do not yet know Him.
Our Jesus is majestic!!
He is worthy to be honored and praised - right out there among people whom He suffered and died for and for whom He cares.
The smiling faces of the people listening is inspiring. Beautiful performance. I wish I could have been there.
It's 31st December 2024 and this is still the best flash mob ever.
