Queen Live Aid '85. No autotune, no attitude, no fancy clothes. Just jeans and t-shirts plus the most talented musicians on the planet.
Lanir DeRose you made me feel old, cheers!
Absolutely
i personaly would say full of attitude, thats what makes queen , queen.
If it were happening today, all you'd see is mobile phones in the air lol
And Adidas shoes.
Such a strange feeling to miss someone you never met

Freddie said "I don't want to be a rock star, I want to be a LEGEND." Mission accomplished, Mr. Mercury.
Mission Passed Respect++
@@jeetrajgor2314 well he said popstar not rockstar.
He may be gone, but his music and voice made him immortal.

There will never be a voice like Freddie's. a true legendary singer
xLegendaryPete Robert Plant
taco 123...Mercury is better..
taco 123 I love Led zep , but there's no other like Freedie Mercury
Krista Mehanikova i still prefer freddie mercury, but freedie mercury is a good singer too.
xLegendaryPete yep.
Most Singers: I empower my fans with relatable lyrics and beautiful stories that would make you cry.
Freddie: *HAAAAAAAAAAYOOOOO*
Ppl listening to most singers "ye what ever" ppl hearing *AAAAAYYYO* loses their shit. That's Mercury power right there
most underrated comment ever
Me anytime I see any hint of one of my friends:
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
In one interview Freddie says, no I don't read books who needs them anyway. A touch of the enlightened about him.
Freddie can sing 5 octaves , there are virtually no other people in the world that has that vocal range. I had the rare privilege to witness him sing. A very beautiful man.
lucky person, got a chance to see him rock on stage, my dream :')
Layne Staley hits those octaves also. Both incredible. But Freddie is my favourite.
Marc Martel..he can.
Lucky you! I saw the Beatles in 1965 right before I graduated H.S…….I missed a lot of the 80’s as I was lost in a drug fog…..M.T.V. And now U tube! Thank you! Freddie is a shining star in the galaxy who will forever shine upon us!!
I was going to my first real job 25 years ago, driving through Bristol in England early in the morning after his death. The news came on the radio announcing his death, playing Bohemian Rhapsody afterwards. Stuck in a traffic jam, I saw nearly everyone mouthing the words to it with tears rolling down their face.
jca111 so cool.
Thanks for sharing this
jca111 Thats amazing ... Truly the send off he deserved
I'm 13 and love queen and Freddie mercury not because their music loves me too but because today's music suck
Nicolas Recinos You my friend have excellent taste in music
*1975 Bohemian Rhapsody is the #1 song*
*1992 Bohemian Rhapsody is the #1 song*
*2018 Bohemian Rhapsody **_is the #1 movie_*
letre favre one has to watch BR in a theater. The live aid scene at the end was very intense and very emotional at the same time. It doesn't get any better than that.
In the netherlands there is a top 2000 all time songs list since christmas 1999, and each christmas the new list comes out. Bohemian has always been on nr.1.
Exept for twice, the year with the je suis charlie terrorist attacks (that year it was imagine) and the year after that (hotel california). It is back at bohemian rhapsody now.
I just saw that movie today
Fucking legendary
Did anyone else get emotional when he said "Thank you. Goodnight"? It's like he really saying goodnight to the world.
That One Unicorn : and he looks so sad.
10:10 :(
Damn you, now I've got onions stuck in my eye.
You should watch the These Are The Days of Our Lives video. It would be his last ever music video with Queen in 1991, and right at the end when he dips his head down, he mutters "I still love you" before walking off screen. THAT gives me chills.
Yes it was such a tragic loss
Live Aid 1985, the 20 minutes when England was ruled by a different Queen.
get an original comment, bud, no offence
20 minutes the *entire World* was ruled by Queen.
... i have to add these : . Lets say, by the "RIGTH" "QUEEN"🥇🏆🥇 OF ROCK & ROLL AND THAT FOR THE WHOLE WORLD🫶
this video should be 45 years long

Freddy Mercury is the greatest frontman in Rock n Roll history.
truth!
Standing Bull still is the from today and always will be Freddie Mercury is the best singer ever
JuicyLemonsHd 123 he's jealous he won't amount to even 0.01% of the man Freddie was.
11beardr I know that panhead guy is a sad little loser who dosent know what real music is
panhead...what's his sexuality got anything to do with his singing career??
New singers: *sneezes* gotta cancel the show
Freddie: *dying of AIDS* let's make some music darling
IKR new singers are wimps. Freddie is a legend beyond the word.
Didn't actually like fat bottomed girls, STILL did his job. :)
The Show Must Go On!
The only man who could wear short shorts and be taken seriously
I dunno, Sir Bobby Moore and his England teammates winning the '66 World Cup in short shorts worked fine!
Freddie and Queen OWNED Live Aid. Sadly, I didn't see this as it happened as I was only 3 years old at the time, but I've seen their performance...and it was just mind blowingly brilliant. There will NEVER be anybody like Freddie again, just like there wasn't before he graced us with his epic presence.
***** I can imagine Zack-it looked like an amazing show.
One thing I've heard about Queen's Live Aid performance was during it backstage Elton John said they outright stole the show.
Well I AM old enough to have seen it. I was 13 at the time and Queen-obsessed, much to the laughter and bemusement of my classmates at school who were all into the bands of the time....U2...Simple Minds..Dire Straits,...etc.... Come monday morning at school after Live Aid.. Everyone... and I mean EVERYONE,,,was talking about Queen.
celt67 I was 10 when Freddie passed on and he was brilliant
I was 32 and watched it on TV, I was not a big Queen fan at the time but did like their music, but when I saw them on live aid I was gob smacked, they stole that show with ease.
No frontman alive can hold a candle to Freddie Mercury.
+MorrYZayrr, the Bigoted Ruffian Mule-Man those are some fighting words there
Well, he is Mr. Fahrenheit. I don't think ANYONE could or can blow out his candle or hold on against his powerful flame.
You are so right. Freddie is the greatest frontman that ever lived!! I told this to a 19 year old just today. I am 62...lol. I told him all you need is the first 4 or 8 bars of his songs and you identify it. Can't do this with "singers" of today. If you can it's probably a cover...again lol...Queen was the enite package, writers, singers, world class musicians, showmen, and most of all did what they did for the fans. Period. Many ant interview bottom line was " our fans buy aour recors, and as long as they do then F*** everyone else". Freddie was purely magical, an enigma, something that we can't explain our love for him about to others. They think we arw crazy. People who are not familiar with Queen think yea well Axel Rose... no... Freddie...you clueless ass...lol
Xe M no shit he's dead
+Babaye eyaBaB Whatta we got here!? A fucking Kanye West fan!
My favourite freddie mercury moments??
Everything darling. Every damn minute.
Every damn seconds darling
He fucking breathes and I have a heart attack
The interviews are fucking funny and Fred didn't give a single fuck
"Goodbye everybody. I've got to go.Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth." This makes me cry. 😭😭
god, man. he was such a legend. i miss him
Heroes come and go, but Legends...They Never Die.
They just live long enough to see themselves become the villain.
heroes die and are remembered by history books but legends are immortal.
hero's always get rememberd but you know legends never die!
I still get choked up knowing that we're never going to hear another of his songs. It wasn't just his singing. The man was a brilliant songwriter.
There are 2 reasons Freddie is greatest singer AND front man of all time, first it's not only his amazing 4 octave vocals but such as breath control, vibrato, and tone but also, and secondly, he can control crowds/whole stadiums with just him scatting. There will never be another like him
Nobody talks about Queen at Wembley? This show is so underated it got the same quality as Live Aid but 6 times the run time.
It's just because Live Aid was broadcast live to over a billion people.
That's a significant factor in that performance because Freddie was literally born for it.
Merely playing to 72,000 people a year later is easy by comparison!
Neither of these compare to Montreal 1981 in my opinion. That concert had some of the best performances by Queen and Freddie.
There is one fact people seem to be forgetting. Live Aid was not a Freddie Mercury concert, so not everyone was there to see him specifically and some may not of been his fans. If you watch his performance he had the entire audience eating out of his hand because fan or not they all knew how special it was. I don't think it has been, or even ever will be, matched.
I couldn't agree more. Like many, I watched Live Aid because it was for an important cause. All these years later, I remember how Queen lifted the event. They, and Phil Collins, are the only entertainers I remember.. And Bob Geldorf and Midge Ure, of course, as the organisers..
True. From that concert I only remember Queen, U2 and maybe Ultravox.
It's kinda weird because Queen were considered washed-up by 1985 --- but Live Aid had boring performances by supposedly young and refreshing stars like Madonna and U2 but it was the "washouts" Queen that ended up stealing the show
Queen and U2 in the same concert. What a jackpot.
Whats funny about Live Aid was everyone was restricted to a certain sound level. But Queen's sound man got under the stage and ripped it apart and turned Queen louder than anyone else. Was awesome.
there is only one top Freddie Mercury moment: his whole fu**ing life!
agreed:)
KyleKartan87 Absolutely 😊
KyleKartan87 records are meant to be broken
Jared Heath Do tell
Him being born should have been a spot XD
Hard to believe it's been 30 years since us fans lost, in my opinion - the most talented performer ever.
A gentle sweet man as well. ❤️
“Hero's get remembered, but legends never die.”
-Babe Ruth
And yes, they were and will both be legends.
Panic at the Disco
When I read your comment, all I could think of was The Sandlot, lol.
An angelic legend
Missed a lot
Created songs still of reverence today
Both? Wait,...who else passed? Not one of Queen? I hope. I hope. I hope!
Never mind. Took me a minute, that’s all. RIP, Freddie Mercury, AND RIP, Babe Ruth.
The best moment when he said
-"When people stop buying our records, I'll do something else, may be I'll become a stripper"
-Which music would you use to strip?
-"All the songs I've written, come on"
Maybe*
Even when he's dead he can get crowd to go crazy. Thats talent. Man he was so talented. I hope he's enjoying the concert in heaven.
Not many can pull that off. That's Freddie for ya.
He came back from the great beyond
it only proves that people are empty inside these days.. just respect his death and listen to his music.. they are literally making millions off of a dead man...
fonkyman maybe they did but it was a nice tribute moment seeing him come back for a little bit
4 flatscreens... fuckit if you enjoyed it good for you :)
Freddie, Brian, Roger & John together made Queen legendary. Each one worked together (and argued together) to make their unforgetable sound. Freddie's voice was amazing. RIP Freddie.
There was and never will be anyone as fabulous as Freddy. RIP. Miss you.
i wish i existed when Queen preformed on live aid :")
I did but sadly I wasn't allowed to watch it. My dad was strict with the tv.
Same. I wish i was alive to have seen one of his performances
I saw them during their first American tour. 73 or 74 at the Columbus, Ohio Agora. I stood on stage...didn't thing they were that good at the time...
AshDoesStuff I feel the exact same wayyy!!
I existed. I was 1 years old
Live Aid wasn't "one of the finest performances of all time". It WAS and still IS the finest performance of all time.
It should be the standard by which all bands try to beat....... good luck with that one, hee
Nope. Michael Jackson performing live during Motown's 25th Anniversary show was the greatest performance of all time.
th-cam.com/video/d17ggav1Lto/w-d-xo.html
well just compare the crowds. I think it's obvious. (Not saying Michaels performance wasn't on spot, it was)
You're kidding me, right? You really think Michael Jackson lip syncing is a better LIVE performance than Queen at Live Aid? I don't think so. No comparison whatsoever. 1. He lip-synced 2. It was a choreographed show and 3. He had 0 interaction with the audience. Meanwhile, Freddie Mercury had nearly 200 thousand people singing and clapping along to "Radio Ga Ga" in sync. He captivated that entire audience like no other. And he captivated another entire audience in America at the same time. Lol. If I wanna hear the recorded version of "Billie Jean", I don't need to watch Michael Jackson lip syncing it.
*cough* Hendrix at Monterey *cough*
Freddie Mercury and David Bowie. 2 Legends in Heaven. RIP
Man, the decade to come will be a f**** rock funeral without endind....
freddie said he wanted to go to hell
It has been 31 years since he passed on but still rocks our hearts like never before. R.I.P Freddie Mercury, you will never be forgotten.
*loses voice*
*sings like a powerhouse angel anyway*
Only Freddie Mercury 😂
SisAngel right!!! Like how he had throat problems at the live aid performance in 85 yet still killed it and no one knew he was going through a voice problem
SisAngel
@@charlesweinberg4263 Freddie Mercury with a voice problem is still greater than any singer to date. That kind of rock isn't even my preferred genre (apart from queen themselves of course, they transcend genre preferences) and I will happily concede him to be much better than any singer from my favourite genres.
take notes justin Timberlake !!
SisAngel so true
If someone says to you "describe Freddie in one word"
You have to say "legend".

I miss him ❤️ Rest In Peace Freddie, you legend. Also, however famous it becomes Queen will always be underrated, they're just extraordinary.
He truly is immortal.. any concert with Queen gives me goosebumps, he was truly once in a lifetime type of musician and man.
Freddie basically called Her his Wife...... he never wanted another woman.... he preferred men, but loved her dearly
Such a noble and respectful act
I hate when people ooh freddie is gay and then bruh he is like the most greatest like accept michael jackson
Prince Edward Gonzales Freddie is quite literally Michael Jackson level
Michael Jackson is Freddie level...but not really. Now Prince...that's a whole other thing.
Andrew Figueroa naaah You can debate music but Michael is popular among all races while Freddie isn’t known as much in the African American community
Freddie Mercury was a legend R. I. P
I love this man so much. My heart aches for Freddie Mercury. I can’t get enough. True fan!
It’s really hard to explain why he was so awesome he just was like just the energy he had was magical
The best thing about Freddie. Was how he was able to down a shot of vodka, and reach that explosive vocal range that he was famous for while on the verge of death. Some rockers would rather burn out than fade away. Freddie on the other hand wouldn't die without leaving a gigantic mark on music history.
Johnny Football He was and Still is a True LEGEND Ever Lived!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍
Exactly.
"Some rockers would rather burn out than to fade away." Was that a Def Leppard reference or a Highlander reference.

@JORDAN SMITH SAME AS WELL
@JORDAN SMITH Oh no, great music is great music, regardless of what it is!
There's only one Freddie Mercury ❤️
I wish you emphasized more on Freddie Mercury's musical efforts during his battle with AIDS. He recorded The Miracle in an early stage, and Innuendo during the later stages. To sing some of the lines he slammed a bottle of vodka to suppress the pain, and he also appeared in multiple video clips, with heavy make-up. And at the very end of it, he recorded enough miscellaneous lines to fill up another album, Made In Heaven. He almost literally went down, singing.
OrkTv Yea like Days of our lives and I'm going slightly mad
hhEheHeHEheheHEHE
gO to trutHConTEstcOM, reAd The pResEnt
Brian May tells this heartbreaking story about how Freddie sang the first two verses of Mother Love, on Made in Heaven, and then felt too tired to go on and said he'd do it later. That was the last session. Brian ended up singing the final verse for that song.
Innuendo and miracle were the same period.
True in my view. The Miracle was still 80s, while Innuendo was more mature, clearly, and showing more reflecting pieces, although "Was it all worth it" has a comparable message as "These are the days of our lives" and "The show must go on".
RIP Freddie. nobody will ever compare to you. We all know Freddie and Bowie have reunited and given a sterling encore of Under Pressure up in heaven. That I would have wanted to see. RIP Bowie
It’s been years ,but I still miss him.
Even though the man himself isn’t here Freddie’s music will never die
Quarter a century ago I cried.
And he was the only celebrity who made me cry.
A legend was no more. :-(
Quargelbrot1 legends never die
Same for me. Even now when I watch a video like this I feel sad. Don't have that reaction for any other celebrity or rock star.
For me, it's partly because he was genuinely an amazing and selfless person (rare with celebrities, especially ones as renowned as Freddie) but had such a sad life, few true friends, always having to hide the truth of his sexuality and for years being hounded by the press about his condition. But through it all he remained stoic and true to himself...a true legend.
Capnsensible80 yeah, he was a very humble person, and to some degree even shy - but damn he was able to turn on some switch, when he went on stage to perform!
Quargelbrot1 don williams
There will never be anyone like him again :(..R.I.P. Freddie
Freddie's Live Aid performance is unreservedly the best live performance of all time by anyone ever. He just blew the whole world away.

Michael: I've sprained my ankle, and I can't dance to Remember The Time (which has insane choreography), but I still will perform in a wheelchair.
Freddie had an amazing work ethic
I just hope one day I’ll be in Heaven and hear a voice say “Hello dahling, how about a cup of tea “! That would be a good day!
Janice Murphy-Ingram I’d like to believe in heaven. I wish I could see amazing people like Mercury, Bowie, & Elizabeth Taylor. But I’m atheist. I’m not forcing my belief on you. You can keep believing in heaven. That’s just my belief.

I could watch Freddie forever. RIP you darling man
Here is another great Freddy Mercury moment. I was watching an interview with Elton John with him talking about about Freddy. The Christmas of year Freddie Mercury died Elton John received in the mail a a present that Freddie had bought for him from an artist that Elton collected and there was note that said "Sharon Hope you love this Love Malena"
To me that story shows what type of person Freddie was that even while he was dying he was still thinking of those closest to him and trying to bring a little bit of joy to their lives.

Best Frontman and Live Performer of all time. The one and only Freddie Mercury.
I love you Freddie. Thank you so much. Rest well.
I regret not being alive for live aid. But I was in tears as I watched the Queen gig for the bush fires in Sydney. Just so full of awe, regret and a sickly concoction of conflicting emotions. Seeing one of the musicians I admire most not just for his music but also his stoicism and tenacity when it came down to his music it was as if he was speaking directly to my soul. It's how I feel when I listen to Queen. Just a little less lonely. One of the characters I invented for a series of shorts loves Queen just as much as I do. We both pit our first tattoos on the same arm Freddie had that famous studded armband. Id always loved three songs, Don't stop me now, Another one bites the dust and Killer Queen. But it wasn't until I listened to the rest of Queens discography that I realised just how utterly unparalleled their music is. Night at the Opera and News of the World are two of my all-time favourite albums ever and there isnt a bad queen song out there. Thanks, Freddie, Brian, John and Roger for all that great music.
If any person could be brought back, I would want it to be him. I miss this guy.
But he would be 69 by now and well past his prime. As sad as it was that he left us so early, at least we can now forever remember him at the top of his game, without old age taking that away from him.
I hope Mick Jagger doesn't read this! LOL
Quotenwagnerianer Look up Steven Tyler performing on American Idol a few years back.
Quotenwagnerianer, I know what you're saying and even appreciate some truth in it, namely, that we will always see him as he looked in the prime of life. That said, I'm not sure he would have lost any of his vocal prowess or charisma. I think we've lost out on much, not only Queen & rock songs but had Freddie lived, I imagine he'd have continued to explore new genres.
@Quotenwagnerianer : yeah, he would be old by now, but think of all the music he could have made in the 90's and 00's... we would have so much more to listen to

He was the most extraordinary showman. Flamboyant and seemingly fearless, Freddie projected an extraordinary public persona.
"These Are The Days". Freddie's smile at the end, so close to the end. "I still love you".
The most iconic rock star ever.
I genuinely can't pick my favorite Freddie moment. His voice has never been bettered...
I am in awe of this legend . But I don’t understand how I can weep and miss him SO MUCH , when I never had the opportunity to ever meet him …..?!!
His loved ones , family and friends - there must be such a void in their lives . My heart goes out to them all 💔😢
Don't forget that eveyone of Queen members used to look like dads and rocked our dads and now they are rocking us
Honorable Mention - When working on The Show Must Go On, he was weak and tired from HIV and Brian May asked him if they should stop the song altogether. Mercury took a huge gulp out of a bottle of vodka and said "Let's finish this darling" and got through the song in a few takes. Legend
He said "I'll fucking do it, darling!" And got through the song in ONE take.

"Left the stage we mortals call life"
Nothing, nothin to say about that

Mortals is the key word there
He was a great musician with the onstage persona to match..Freddie & Queen have left a beautiful mark on this planet that will never be forgotten.
If we (humans)are still here in 1000 years, so will the songs of Freddie & Queen.
Freddie was truly happy in his personal life with Jim Hutton- part of the reason HE STOLE THE SHOW At LIVE AID. Love that man forever. Queen ✌️💕🤗😘🤝
Breaks my heart that I will never see queen perform in my life
