Looks like a quality 10mm 1911. Thanks for your excellent review!

Use a rod to thread the spring into the seat by coming in from the muzzle end, touching--and pushing--the rod. Then back out the rod as y7ou push in the rod. As you pointed out one wants to have everything in place first! Great video.

I have the Dan Wesson Bruin 10mm in bronze two tone . Love the gun except for the fact that it does require the use of the bushing wrench to take it apart. The sleek design on the front is non traditional and the plunger is contoured which enhances the overall appearance, however it’s a trick in itself to align the wrench to mate it with the sloped plunger and get a solid purchase on it and employ the wrench in a positive way. Well during reassembly , the plunger managed to shift sideways and it jammed , causing the reassembly procedure to hinder the the mating of the barrel and bushing / plunger , resulting in an ‘ idiot ‘ scratch on the sleek plunger itself . I had to manipulate the mechanism to get it to shift back into position and reassemble the pistol . Wow what a headache. I prefer a tool less pistol for field stripping, just better to not have to depend on a wrench that could get lost in the field or in my case , have it hinder the stripping/ reassembly process . But like your Kodiak, the action and trigger are the finest I’ve ever had the pleasure to manipulate. Super accurate, and it seems to digest anything I run through it . No problems. I may just have to get the Kodiak too lol 😂

I winced when you dry fired it without a snap cap in the chamber. It's a custom fit 1911. dropping an empty slide and dry firing without a snap cap is bad for it. That things super cool. Ive been thinking about picking one up.

I love this gun. It's been on my wish list since it came out. Hoping to get it before hunting season.

Would not hunt with a handgun that’s anything less than 44 magnum. Nothing bigger than hogs anyway.

@@bonitahalpern5424 Yeah, there's no way you could cleanly take a game animal with anything less than a 44 Magnum.
Good thing nobody told our grandfathers and great grandfathers that with their old Henry, Maynard, Winchester, etc rifles, back before the 30-30 arrived as the hot new kid on the block.

.44-40 won the wild west, used in carbines and revolvers. How did they ever survive without a 44 mag.
A little old woman killed a giant grizzly with a .22 Long.

Dang, the recoil when you're shooting looks pretty vicious. I thought this big pistol would soak up more of the recoil.

To be honest, I always relax my grip a bit when doing these videos. It makes the shooting look a bit more exciting and dramatic. The actual recoil is not bad at all.
