Man I can’t express how much a different grip can impact the entire character of a revolver. There are some that I can’t even operate with the stock wood grips, but when I switch to a hogue rubber conversion grip the revolver is a completely different animal. The only one I’ve left factory wood grips on is my 97 year old heirloom pre model 10, otherwise they’re all rubber and a thousand times more functional and comfortable.
@@darrelldunlap7249 It will depend on the wood and finish you choose. I can't post prices or else TH-cam dings me. But in the video, I do state the price of the grips I got. You can email them and state what kind of grips you are interested in and they will give you a quote.
Sharp checkered grips on a heavy recoiling handgun will eat your hand up. Those smooth grips are the way to go but I would prefer oil finish because that gloss finish can cause a blister on the inside of the thumb of the firing hand if you are right handed. Just saying. Those Amazon grips are terrible looking but that's a subjective matter. I wouldn't want them on my 629.
Hogue J-frame rubber monogrip. But there is a caveat. The grip is a bit on the longer side, so it will compromise concealability a little bit. But it really does tame the recoil. Pachmayr Diamond Pro for J-frame is also good. They're a little shorter than the Hogues. A little easier to conceal. But I think the Hogue is a bit more comfortable.
Try Hogue Bantam Grips (SKU# 61004). Rubber to help with recoil and minimal for concealment. Also try Hornady Critical Defense Light for lower recoil. That's what I have done with mine.
Fantastic channel for those of us who love wheels. Those Colina grips are awesome and a company I hadn't heard of before.

IMHO Altamont grips rock. I have multiple sets for my GP100, New Model Blackhawk, Wrangler and Colt Cobra. Good video. Thanks.
I bought poly ivory with a Patriotic design for my Browning Hi-Power Turkish made improved model pistol.
Hands down the uncheckered Culina grips look the best!
Yeah. They're my favorite.
Yeah those gloss grips look just like the old school presentation grips
I usually prefer bone or poly ivory grips (if made properly)
Info on those Culina Grips, pls?
What else did you want to know?
I was able to find them on their site.
They show no prices.
Can you tell me the price range of the grips you got from them?

Yes sir!
You did state price and I missed it.

Any luck with your King Cobra 22? Did you try swapping the cylinders between your 6" and 4.25"?
The 4.25" is no longer with me.
I bought a S&W 442. What grip would you suggest to make it a little easier to shoot?

@@MysteryWheelgunner Hey - thanks for info! I shot that gun 10 rounds, & I was done! Will check out the Hogues...

@@darrelldunlap7249 Thank you Sir! I'll look them up online today :-)
That third set of grips were butt ugly.
