I spoke with Dan Mogulof who I believe is vice chancellor or some high up position at Berkeley. I actually had a really good conversation with him about this ordeal. He said that he understands everybody's skepticism around these actions taken and that he wants Shapiro to come speak at the college. He said that he was trying to work with YAF and gave them negotiations to either move to a smaller venue or a venue that requires a rental fee if they still can't find a free 500 person venue like requested. I can't speak for the majority of the administration there, but this guy seemed committed and genuine. He completely understood why people were angry and why the reputation at that college is as bad as it is and it seemed to me like he wanted to have Ben speak there but I think there are other powers at work preventing that from happening like he even higher ups at the university.
I grew up surrounded by liberalism and was a pretty staunch democratic till about 33. Since getting a good look at the other side of the coin, I've reached a point where I can make an educated decision. I've realized there needs to be a balance in life. And the conservatives are better balanced.
