We have almost no home invansions anymore ever since some 80 year old shot a couple of punks to death with a shotgun a few years back. The few criminals we have left here are too afraid of getting blasted in this town to try much more than dealing small time.

Sometimes having more people armed helps, like in this case, sometimes, it would be a hinderance, such as in Vegas. If you had members of the crowd firing into the hotel, that'd have been a disaster. It's something that anyone that routinely carries, has to consider, when they consider intervening.

What happened was that law abiding citizens that didn't want to comply with this new regulations had to handover their guns to the authorities. It is our duty to ensure we are able to continue to defend ourselves from whichever government's corrupt and incompetent tendencies.

I've been reading some more about this story and it turns out Willeford was surprisingly badly prepared. Before he could engage the killer, he had to take his AR15 out of his safe, LOAD A MAGAZINE, load the rifle, and then get into action. That's right, he had no loaded magazines in his safe. He actually to take the time to crack open an ammo box and load a mag before he could get in the fight. So ultimately, Willeford went into battle barefoot with one partially loaded mag, no spare ammo, and no sidearm. When the shootout was over and the killer was dead, Willeford found he had only 2 rounds left in his rifle. Of course, this isn't to take away anything from Willeford's obviously considerable skill and bravery displayed that day. But hopefully this is lesson on being prepared he will take to heart, as should all of us as well.

I had this 19 year old kid that worked for me that was at a motor sports place looking at ATVs and this other asshole customer started shit with him like, “sonny, you got no business buying a mans toy.” He finally got pissed and asked the guy if he wanted to take it outside which they did and it turned into a fist fight in the parking lot which landed them both in jail but they added some rioting charge on that which was a felony and his idiot father told him to plead on it because they promised him no jail time. He was smart enough to take my advice and fight it and even his $100 an hour lawyer got everything dismissed. Watch what do in life because the system is just waiting for you to step off the path into their mine field.
