or you could just be grateful for getting anything lol . why would any expect to gain more value than they paid here ? its pretty obvious you aren't getting anything good here
This company has an ingenious method of shoveling games they can't sell at con's or storefronts in dollar bins. Thank goodness for hopeful suckers. Think about that... you are a shop owner, and you have bins and bins of crap Nintendo games you can't sell for $3 a piece collecting dust and taking up valuable shop real estate. Then you sell them mail order, 3 for $35. Man I love America.
Agreed. If you have one of the rare games that regularly go for hundreds, would you voluntarily take a loss and stick it in a 35 dollar box? Nobody would.
Orpheusftw Especially if you have a handful of shills out there willing to post videos of the great pulls they got from the service... but MLP made 2 videos which produced absolute garbage... which goes to show they are completely transparent that they are giving you far less than what you paid for, for things you don’t want. You’d think they’d at least give your price of admission in value for trash games they can’t get rid of. At least you don’t feel completely ripped off.
Everything about RGT sucks. His opinions are all over the place, click bait titles, and then there is his voice. So annoying. I can never get through a full vid.
@@devote Agreed. At least he's a straight shooter. He's not trying to filter what he says for fear of not getting anymore freebies. I'm looking at your john hanock, metal jesus, etc.

I did what you did and they claimed they had ‘trouble’ fulfilling this months order. So because I wouldn’t add another console they cancelled my subscription.
I did Retro Game Treasure for about 5 months and I got my money's worth of games only 1 month out of the 5. The last box I got was 3 Nes games for a value worth $17. Absolute joke and a ripoff. Cancelled it right after that.
Ive used Video Games Monthly before, to be honest they send way better game value for what you pay. Still not great but maybe you should do a comparison video between the two.
It's funny on their Facebook advertisements they show Super Mario World and Legend of Zelda link to the past bursting out a retro box! Such false advertising . All they give is trash, someone figured out a genius way to get rid of their crap titles that are impossible to sell by themselves.
Yeah I tried this for a few months it wasn’t for me. And then when I canceled my subscription they sent me a survey asking why and I was polite and professional with my answer they they sent me back a rude ass email telling me I wasn’t there target audience. Mind you I have 660+ physical games spread across several systems from atari2600 to Xbox one X but I’m not there target audience.........
I explained that I did the service because I moved to an area where there was no retro game stores. And I still wanted to bulk up my collection and I don’t mind commons as long as it’s a game I would play. So I entered my entire collection and answered the survey so I could get the most of the service. But month after month I would get 1 game that I would want. So I kept hoping it would get better. But I kept getting more stuff like dragon quest 4 on famicom. A Japanese rpg does me absolutely no good. And I felt like they were dumping famicom games in me. So I cancelled and explained I didn’t feel I was getting a good value. And told him I live in the outskirts of Houston so I could go find retro game stores. And he replied back that not everyone has access to retro game stores and that this is for people who want games and don’t know better or just want to spend money and not care about what they got. I will agree some of the quality of the games I got were very good. Like ps2 games and psp games complete. But it was games like midnight club. And I don’t do puzzle games so parappa the rapper was a waste on me.
Maybe you should try getting a box without having games checked off that way you can really see what you would get but there definitely should of been 5 games in that box
thanks for the heads up MLP. I would only use this service for my crappy dreamcast collection. or i can get really lucky and buy the games myself on eBay instead. i dunno, im tired of being ripped off these days by shady business practices my friends!
I would say the only people benefiting from these types of loot boxes would be nostalgia chasers. I played a lot of games as a kid but was ,and still am, very picky when it comes to what games I actually enjoy and want to really play. I would definitely NOT be the target audience for this. I wonder what would happen if you only left rares in the list. Absolutely nothing else, just rares. They’d probably implode.
Lookit those labels... I'm pretty sure those are repros. I'm not sure cause you won't hold the damn things still for 2 seconds lol. But I think you can see the lines from the printer head in the blacks on fri13. Can you make a video of you opening them up? I'm curious to see whats inside. Or at least let us know on your next vid?
I really don't understand why would anyone buy stuff without knowing what they are gonna get, being games, clothes, swag, etc. It's dumb, worst than playing the lottery.
Almost everyone in the smaller community I hang in who does these kind of inboxing videos uses a place called VGM (video games monthly) and they do a thing where you can get a 1Up which is where they will throw an additional game or 2 in the box. Everyone thinks it’s great but the way I’ve seen it is they only include those when the value on all the games is way below the price you pay for the box. So people think they are getting a great deal when in fact you still aren’t even breaking even. Been considering doing a video on it but I don’t want to spoil their fun or content so I’ll just vent here. Lol
I've seen so many youtubers open these from retro game treasure and based on what I've seen they most certainly would've spiced up your box had they known you were a youtuber. Oddly enough I haven't seen too many people do an unboxing from video games monthly which is another service just like retro game treasure except they seem to do it better. I've been wanting to try out video games monthly for a while but I haven't had the extra scratch. I'd sure like to see how they do with your anonymous challenge. Based on what little coverage I've seen on them I think they might do better by you. Please consider testing them out.
I wouldn't buy this, but to be fair, if you're admitting to opting out of everything except the rare/expensive titles... Well if it was just that easy, everyone would be getting Little Samson, M.U.S.H.A. and Tron Bonne for 35 bucks.
At least the labels are in great shape and no yellowing or permanent ink writing on the carts. You should have gotten a 4th cart though. There was no uncommon games to warrant only 3 games.
Dude I could have told you that without the video. Subscription boxes are bad in general which is why I stopped doing them, and a retro box is just going to give you stuff you collected a long time ago when you were starting out. A SWAP BOX is a better way to go. Form a group of collectors, fill it, mail it from one to the next.
Yeah screw that. I would rather just walk into a game store blindfolded and buy a couple games without looking. But seriously you should do that. All the good games are in cases anyways.
I really like most of games you got in both boxes, but there's no way I'd pay 80 bucks for these 7 games. I think this is for people who don't care about throwing away money and just want to be surprised by 3 or 4 games every month because they can't be bothered to pick any themselves.
Just heard about this box. i would be much more interested to receive one game at like 15 bucks a month but i'm not paying 40 bucks a month for randoms.
I've small collection of NES games but holly crap, I own all of these 3 games. By the time MLP was gonna unbox 3rd game, I guess right I will own dat game.
