    Ron: love your bunkers. But something just occurred to me; the escape tunnel is a straight 'L'. The sand would dump into the tunnel. I'd prefer a sand sump at the bottom, with enough volume to contain what's in the sand chamber above, and a floor grate to stand on without sinking into the sand after it drops.

      That’s paying extra for something you’d never use and is barely a hindrance anyway? You don’t have a grate outside your house to keep the snow off your door sill

    • @Cetok01
      @Cetok01 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@____________________________.x No I don't, but I'm also not buried under several feet of dirt...yet. As for being somethng you'll probably never use: you MIGHT need it - especially if home invaders or blast collapse blocks the entry - and the quicker you can get out without pushing the sand out of your way, the better. If you're in a bunker because of the reason you bought it, panic is always just a circumstance away. As for the expense, Ron could include it as an option. If I could afford a bunker, I'd ask for the sump.

    The aspect I always wonder about is proper drainage, for both ground water, and for your toilet/sink/waste water. I think these should really be made with a full septic leach field or chamber system around the perimeter of the bunker (not under the actual concrete pad itself). I mean, sure, a french drain is sort of like a tiny leach field, but if it isn’t redirecting the water away from the shelter it really isn’t doing anything. To truly keep up with ground water you would really need a full leach or chamber system rated for a certain amount of gallons per day.
    Also, items like the the valve that allow condensation to flow out the 90 degree bend in the air intake pipe is just going to have backfill around it. Whats going to happen to that exit valve when it is packed with dirt and has nowhere for condensation to flow? That should be plumbed into to the discharge flow into your - assuming you installed one - septic system.
    I think these bunkers have some really good build quality and well thought features, but that is one I never really see addressed.

      The welder incorrectly welds the flange, in which case the electrode must move from bottom to top to prevent slag from entering the metal melt. 4:51

    why cant that other company make their shelters as good as Ron. are they lazy, rotten, corrupt or all of the above? been looking thro Atlas back videos and learnt some quite disturbing stuff. being a truck driver i know to open a window when using a gas stove yet they fit propane into their less well built shelters. the hatch would not even keep out anyone, the vent pipes are plastic and next to each other , the stairs are skinny and to steep, the air system would not even surpport a hamster and bolts with no welded together back up letting water enter and rust up the place and let mould grow on stored food and bedding. just to name a few issues. how can this be happening?....

      @@redfaux74 i watched one of Rons postings where they had propane fitted inside a RS bunker and it blew up killing people inside yet still they trade. this is a product where cheap often means lethal. Ron builds a much better one....
