    I've been anxiously awaiting your next video. Interesting that it's on the vape system as I'm contemplating one for a 360 roller I have with no flywheel and badly rusted stator. There are step by step instructions you can download online you do have to go to top right hand page of their website and click on english. The owner should have the flywheel puller they send them out with the kit. That flywheel doesn't use a woodruff key, it's just pressed on by tapered shaft and the nut. To time it, you have to use service manual and set to 2.8 mm btdc or whatever is required for that model, then without moving crank reinstall flywheel lining up mark on flywheel with mark on stator. You can check with timing light when running and loosen stator without pulling flywheel and move stator to dial it in. Lol a new challenge for Jack which I have no doubt you'll conquer. If you can't find instructions let me know and I'll email to you

      I went to the website and couldn't find a way to download anything without being a customer. If you could email me the instructions I would be eternally grateful RC. Hanover.jack@gmail.com.

      @@oldguysoldbikes I just sent the pdf to you, let me know if you don't receive it. I also found a Yamaha dealer tied in with Taiwan who can actually get me a new Yamaha flywheel for my 360a

      @@oldguysoldbikesand no worries Jack we should always be willing to help another, much like your videos help many, myself included

    Lol, I'm progressing through the video and guess what. Jack has figured it out. I wish I could meet you, very impressive, no wonder you fix all these old yamahas

      Thanks RC. I stumble around a lot, but usually get there in the end.

    Just put a VAPE on my DT250. First, try unplugging the blue wire from the new coil. for some reason mine won't run with that wire hooked up to the bike's ground from the key/kill switch. It does NOT need a battery at all, that little battery is just to help run the flashers/tail lights when the bike is idling. Make sure the timing is right on it. Set your timing with the dial indicator then make sure the laser etched line on the flywheel is lined up with timing mark on the stator. Also, make sure the wires from the old rectifier are bussed together.

    It looks like you are on the path to getting it figured out Jack. Fingers crossed!

      I ordered a new battery but I want to find a better location for the rectifier/regulator. I'm thinking about the tool area if it will fit there. You can get a fork bag or one that hangs on the handlebars for a few tools. There is just too much clutter under the gas tank, and I want to try and make the turn signals work with this system if possible.

    Yep wiring can drive you crazy. Good luck brother.

    The vape system means your bike can run and start if your battery is dead, but you cannot run it without a battery with my testing on my AT1.

      I don't know how that would work on the AT1. It should already be a 12v system with battery/points ignition. If it has a starter that is. I'm not sure if any ATs besides the ATMX were magneto ignition.

      @@oldguysoldbikesI see, I think the AT1 was the only one however, as it’s the only one with electric start.

    I want to add, be very careful and do not confuse positive and negative as that will fry the regulator, the blue wire is for kill switch

    Jack online says the VAPE system conversion is 12 volt.

    • @oldguysoldbikes
      @oldguysoldbikes  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's correct. I just didn't originally know that it had a VAPE ignition installed and the original was 6v.

    One other tip, they claim if you don't use their puller you can damage magnets on flywheel, not sure if that's completely true or not but definitely don't hammer on flywheel that can break magnets loose

    This is an easy fix, just get a bike frame that has suspension to handle the power and put the motor in.
