The Beast is a nice drone. Offers a lot for the cost of it. You did not mention the optiflow sensor on the bottom.
The drone can be flown fpv. The option is in the app. Also the gps and non gps is an automatic feature. Before it gathers enough satellites, it go into optical flow hold, which is mode 1. After enough sats are gathered, the drone go into mode 2, which is gps mode.
I have owned the sg906 for a month and it’s a good drone.

I did mention the opti flow @ 1:51 It would be nice to have a gps on / off switch though. It's a good priced gps quad. What it really needs is a sd card dvr to take advantage of the camera.

Great video Ive just got a SG907 but the wifi has just stopped working,Watching your video on manual calibration has got it at least flying thank you,im still going to ask the retailer for a replacement or at least a partial refund but at least i can enjoy my first quad for now until i upgrade

My first one flew away for some reason but i got another and it's pretty good to learn with.
I just bought the beast mini se a few days ago off banggood for $168 dollars. I really hope its like this but smaller. I wanted a cheap decent drone to learn on. it does have obstacle avoidance too.
He'll pilots. Does anyone know the preset altitude for the failsafe auto RTH? I've noticed that when flying mine, and I was flying at home in a VERY congested area that the RTH altitude is much higher or faster than the altitude I was flying at.
Very, very scary, and potentially harmful or dangerous. I was flying pretty close to the ground, about 1.5 m or so, I hit the RTH and it accelerated quickly up. I didn't want that at all.
This is without a doubt the best review for the Beast on the web. You really used this to its maximum potential. I learned a lot. Thanks.

Great video, have a 906, my problem is, it wont unlock, so any info would really be appreciated.
My one arrived today! I had the same problem. The GPS wasn't working. Just follow the instructions but when you are calibrating the compass keep on turning it, flipping it and more until the lights stop bleeping then it should work.
I like that companies are giving carry bags and the price is pretty good👍🏻
Oh yeah, they make life so much easier :) I like it that they fold up so well too. They should make race quads with foldable arms.....maybe not :)

Which manufacturer makes the highest quality Beast sg906 pro 2? I'm trying to decide this or Bugs 4w. Which would you pick if picture gimbal wasn't that important? Remember I'm saying if build quilt and range were most important which would you pick?
Good video, good explanation. Two pertinent doubts, the first, should the gyroscope calibration always be done before a flight? the other: can the calibration of the compass be done before detecting the satellites, or afterwards? or is it irrelevant?

Good review Pete, glad to see your impressions of this drone and i'm happy to see you didn't have 1st stage LVC geofence issues that i experienced in my flight test a couple months ago. The flight time on your review sample seem a fair bit less than what i got with mine, also i noticed your app layout up the top telemetry bar has that Green Star icon which mine did not have, i wonder what that is meant to be for as the number counter fluctuate up and down next to that icon? any ideas? I have seen others that have reviewed the SG906 that has the same green star also.
For the price at $139 its not a bad deal with the carry bag included, this drone was around $169US at the time of my review! I will have to fly mine again sometime and give it another chance to see if mine behaves the same way it did lol. Thanks for Sharing Pete

yeah, I remember that video you made. The green star supposed to be a geomagnetic interference icon...?? Someone also said to turn on video optimization in the settings but mine doesn't have that option. yeah, mine didn't have much flight time only about 17 minutes. The batt was fully charged too.
looks like the green star is normal but orange or red means strong geomagnetic interference and to leave the current location and recalibrate.
@@RCEscape ah is that what it's for, cheers for letting me know, that star was not on my app.. I've heard that they have updated the app since so Ive just uninstalled the one I had from my review and reinstalled it again ... Will see how it behaves or changes anything next time I fly it.

even if it says 4k it doesn't have a built in dvr to record in 4k directly from the camera so the only to record is with the wifi app which cannot be more than 1080p

@@RCEscape i found out what is happening...if you put hd on the app screen it takes video in almost 2k resolution. big difference than the 1080p it films in sd. it has a minor lag but in short distances up to 100m it will not disturb you. from now on i will film in hd mode. Try it!!

I don't mind proprietary batteries in general. But all these new ones leave NO way to use a hobby charger. The Bugs 5w is proprietary but could be adapted with a $3 cable because it had a balance plug coming out of the thing the battery plugged into. So you could use a hobby charger.
This is important for:
1. Faster charge
2. Checking the voltage.
3. Doing a proper storage charge.
Certainly no way to do a precise
storage charge with this setup.
So we are back to the 4 idiot lights and really no idea how much charge is in the battery.
Pete, have you heard of any way to use a hobby charger on these micro usb batteries?
Today I was out with my beast and after a 10-15 min fly it started behaving oddly by waving back and forth for a while then I just lost control and it crashed on the ground. Luckily without any serious damages and I was able to put it back in the air and fly again. I was close to a power plant. Could it be any interference from the power plant which decalibrated the drone sensors?

I think you have experienced an interference and caused the compass calibration to go out of whack.
If it did not crash and you still had control, it needs to be brought in and have the compass recalibrated.

Can there be videos on how to take the arm off this SG906 Beast Drone. My one blade is not spinning and want to repair it. Think the brush motor is no good.
Should be able to closely look at all the screws retaining the arm and or body. Should be doable if you take your time and even take pictures where everything belongs for reassembly. Nothing you probably don't already know but, I asked a question on the bugs3 mini/eachine ex2mini video/s in regards to upgrading the quadcopters antenna but no response. I don't think he has much time to answer questions usually it seems. Good luck.
I replaced one of my arms, not that big a deal, a lot of screws to take out, main thing when you get the arm back on, besure to get the wires back where they go, so be sure when you open it up, you see how the wiring is routed,good luck

It's a good quad but there is no sd card dvr so the phone app is the only source of recording the video and it is not that great.
@@RCEscape takes a mean 12 megapixel picture though I mean for that money and just for pictures around 650 meters fpv not a bad starter drone,its twitchy you said can it be tamed on the settings to make it more dosile can't remember but I did have one and just ordered one as it's a decent flyer I see other reviewers 650 meters no problem bro..?

RC Escape I am so excited I like how you explain everything how to calibrate the drone so if anything that I forget I just go back to your video and trust me I’m going to have me some fun this will be my first drone with GPS I have a bout 8 drone and don’t have GPS and it’s not the same because when you don’t have a GPS you don’t know how far you are out how much battery you got and how high the drone is but I am loving what I’m seeing I will let you know when I get it flying and share the experience with you

@@RCEscape It's possible that since the camera is modular that the manufacturer or 3rd party manufacturer may come up with a DVR capable cam, kinda like the Symas when they had a 3rd party FPV cam came out for them.

Is the wifi capable of being secured with a password? Is that even something to be concerned about? (I.e., that there could be interference on an unsecured wifi signal that could interfere with the operations?) As I'm new to drones this may be a stupid question but...Are there FAA regulations to be concerned about? (I happen to live below the flight path of a small airport and there's always small aircraft and small jets flying over to land nearby and I dont want to have any issues there).
If you are that close to an airport, you should not be flying. It will weigh in at 543gr with battery so you will need to be registered.
As for the wifi, I'm sure there could be interference so fly in an open area.

Hi Sir, here is one of your fan from Pakistan and requires help based on your expertise.
I bought ZLRC beast Sg906 drone from Singapore to Pakistan. Its wifi was working there but its not working since i came back to my hometown. Whenever I turned it on its not creating hotspot and its wifi is not available in the list of available wifi. I have tried it on My Samsung S8 it was working in Singapore. I suspect that its 5G wifi module is damaged or something. I have posted on different forums but couldn't get the desired answer. Some on told me that i need to replace its camera module which slides out of drone as its wifi or video transmitter is in its camera module. I wants your guidence should i need to replace camera module for wifi problem? Hiw these two camera and wifi link to each other as during flight i move the camera via RC and it was moving up and down. So buying new camera module will solve my problem?
I don't think they make different wifi modules for different countries so the module may have gotten damaged somehow. Try removing the module and put it back. Maybe the contact is not touching. If nothing works, then you may have to replace the module.

Tell me please, I bought this quad 2 days ago, and it flies 10 minutes and comes back home, takes off again, and already 10-15 minutes flies all the time, writes (low battery) the battery in low charge mode, “you will not fly further than 20 meters” and charging, the third compartment on the battery is charged the longest, "about 5 hours."
Is it normal, or a problem with the battery, and how to solve it?
Did you check the speed of you drone? Coz if you always used the second speed to fly the batteries will draining much more faster. I had this drone too for nearly a month and its works nicely and it fly almost 23 minutes in fully charged battery.
Question: I have received my SG907 but after gyro and mag calibration and unlocking(motors turn on ), when I push the throttle, the motors turn off. The included manuals are totally useless piece of crap and seem to be broken English. How can I start the drone flying?
Is your battery good? Have you waited for full gps satellites?

@@aabb-zz9uw I have SG907 and for first time flight you need to go outdoor and have at least 10 gps satellite signal than it take off , after the first flight you can fly it indoor with the optical flow
@@KronoS9K720 I found out how to fly. It is not the GPS as I know from Pixhawk experience that a lot of time is needed for GPS catching. You have to push the video button before unlocking otherwise unlock will not work. I just cannot make a video due to bad weather here and I have to move 2 hours by metro and bus to the nearest flyable place. I just try hovering indoors and the back yard.

I had one. Was happy with it. Until I lost it. Been searching for hours but with no luck. Does anybody have tips ? It just kept getting further and further. On the remote is saw distance 800 meters... And there it was stuck. So my guess is that I hit something there... But am unable to find it. Any ideas ?

Are the things that fold out from the phone holders not the antennae and not a “stand”? If those are”stands” where are the antennae? Those sure do look like antennae to me? The no card is a no go. Sorry, but it looks like a hobby store knock if, and a poor looking one at that!

The LAG is what it should be called. not a beast. It's probably the longest of anything I've ever flown.
My SG 700D beats it hands . Even my Harbor Freight FPV el cheapo is better and I have a Cheerson CX30 FPV. Its awesome.
