Autoharps are heavy! How nice to have a granddaughter or grandniece to hold it until the second song. Maybelle was astonishing on both guitar and autoharp. I’ve never seen a video with her playing banjo ~ I certainly hope to someday.
They grew on me, thanks to the GOD AWFUL 80'S,I had to listen to country then. Though 80's country was a poppish sound. I thankfully discovered waylon,Hank jr,G Parsons,etc.....But I'll do my part to keep it alive. Btw,Merle Haggerds grandson, has the goods.
The Carter Family has left quite the legacy. Great music and values,and humility.all rare these days in the music industry.
Too bad they stole the genre from rural black Americans! Wouldn’t say thievery, bigotry, and dishonesty are great values but to each their own!
