Robert my friend, I know you have ben doing this a long time, so take this piece of advice as you want. I always value vloggers more, if they keep their errors or miscalculations in their videos. This was, for me at least, one of your best videos, and yes, we did not see a lot in the way of attractions, or locations, but, as a person who is currently working out a road trip for both the US and Australia, your trials and tribulations are very good experience for me, to see what to do and what to look out for. I felt the same in the video where your Kia had problems, and you spent two or three days waiting for the trouble to be located and fixed. That is one of the problems I have with television travel shows, it is always goodness and everything going correctly, and I hate that. So I want to give you a big thumbs up for producing this video with all the troubles included. Thank You!!!!
I loved this - its honest! I started watching because I wanted to know what life was like towing a trailer - I love that you kept in the tyre/tire issues, internet search and missing the dump sign. Everyone must experience something like this on each journey. Thanks for another great vid - always look forward to Sundays!
My heart pounds with joy watching your expertly edited videos. That voice, that voice. You are the joy to watch. I am addicted. And I can't pull away but I need to pull away cause I got things to do. That music is just fabulous. "I'm riding in my RV, And I'm Free Free" :))
Thank you, Robert, for another fun adventure. I haven't visited Tuolomne Meadows. They're beautiful. And uncrowded. I now know why many say they are even better than the valley. By the way, I enjoyed your spectacular hike to the falls yesterday. I had saved it earlier. You're a joyful addition to my life. Keep on ridin'.
Hello again Robert, I always keep my old pair of running shoes for at least a few weeks or until i break in my new ones as they can leave blisters on your heels etc. with the amount of walking you do. I never realized how important it is to look after your feet until i got older. I am so glad you started your road trip in Jan 2019, if you waited one more year Jan 2020 you would have left at the beginning of the Cov19 virus which most of the restaurants, National Parks, RV communities, and other attractions would have been closed and you most likely would have had to cancel your trip. For those around the globe stuck in their homes during this virus your series of adventures is a breath of fresh air and if things dont get better you might go down in history as one of the last great explorers of the 21st century :)
19:30 HOLY C#%P! The price of gas.... Loved the split screen towards the end. Nicely done. As for the mishaps, well.. Doo Doo happens my friend. Safe travels.
I love watching your videos, Robert. I'm a Native Californian and you're showing me places I haven't been to yet. (FYI: the locals call it: Tuolumne: 2 WALL ohm knee). We are blessed with such a wonderful landscape in our state. I recommend your site to those searching for best places to visit. Keep up the wonderful tours. :)
If you’re a native Californian then you should know what he’s talking about without contradicting his pronunciation .I knew what he was talking about, I understood him .
Thks Robert for doing the traveling and narrating. I just stay home and watch. All your videos are just great but this one is exceptional. Million thks !
Most people who visit CA for the first time are surprised at how much wilderness and farmlands are there. I’d say 90% of CA is farm and wilderness. I’m glad you got to see the best parts of CA in this trip. The sierras and nor cal are my fav parts of the state, and that doesn’t even take into account pinnacles national park and the central coast and Big Sur. Lots of amazing things to experience
I quite enjoyed your variation on your theme song, toward the end of this vlog. You have about a two-octave range? Beautiful voice, inventive composing. Thank you. Oh--the views were also outstanding.
We woke up and saw you had a new video. Great way to start the day! I SO appreciated your not wanting to disturb other campers with the sound of the generator. We have had times where our stay was miserable because everyone around us had their gen on.
Absolutely stunning scenery Robert. Whenever you mention areas around Lake Tahoe, Carson City etc. I can't help of Bonanza, the TV show. Kind regards from Adelaide, South Australia.
Amazing views of the mountains in your video Robert. Getting internet service for uploading and downloading videos can be a great challenge while traveling. It's a good thing they have coffee shops. Have a fantastic day!
Robert, thank you for the excellent footage and delightful personality 😊! First time watching your videos and it won't be the last. Be well and stay safe.
Even when things don't look too well or setbacks and things don't go as planned this is what memories are about. Not everything is good when things happen but when you look back it wasn't that bad in fact, things could be a lot worse. Being content is a good attitude.
Another great video Robert, thank you so much for doing what you do - it's great to see all these places and your commentary is always super interesting! Can't wait to see Tahoe, I was supposed to visit there when I was in San Fran a few years back, but didn't make it, so I'm really looking forward to that :)
The south beach of mono lake is really fascinating, as is the mono lake visitors center. The lakes along June lake loop are beautiful. Lots of waterfalls. Nice restaurants with decent views. Tuolumne meadow loop and soda springs hike is lovely and restful.
Tip on Bodie. Get there at opening leave by 11-12 noon. Its empty cooler temps but crowds show up by noon. You probably would have been fine with the trailer but the rough road wouldn’t be good for it. Camping options are thin on 101 between Petaluma and Avenue of the Giants. But once at Avenue of the Giants you have options again. Redwood National Park is a must!! Hike Fern Canyon!!!!!
Robert I stumbled upon your videos a couple of weeks ago. I cannot tell you how many hours of your content I've watched since. Keep it up, you are putting out great content.
You made the right call turning back on that dirt road to Bodie. It destroyed my shocks and had to be replaced after that trip. The ghost town was good though. One of the biggest and well maintained I've seen.
Howdy Robert, many thanks for sharing yet another supêrb video here which-need I point out-made my day as usual.Once again you did a great job here buddy and your effort is greatly appreciated as you know.Best wishes and cordial greetings from William in Bruges,Belgium,Europe
Gooooood morning Robert. I am glad that you show the ups and downs of rv life in your videos. Just like in anything, problems pop up now and then, but the freedom of the road and excitement at what might be around the next curve outweigh them. Thank you again for a great video. You and your family are always in our prayers. Fly pelican, fly! Have a great day. 👍😎🌴
Love watching your videos. I feel like I’m almost right there without leaving my house (which we can’t do right now). Beautiful scenery, pleasant music and informative narration. Thank you Robert,
🤤 That's my face after this episode. So good. So nice. Now everybody click like, lock the TH-cam side, open it and watch it all over again. So good. You made our Sunday's so much better. Thanks Robertico.
Hello Robert, those snow capped peaks are absolutely breathtaking. It's too bad that you didn't make it all the way to Bodie. I am looking forward to the next video series featuring Lake Tahoe and Carson City and beyond. Great job Robert!
You always have the best attitude! even with things going kind of sideways you still seem cheerful! huge fan of yours here ! Anyway really enjoyed this video. Being without all the crowds in the part of the park you were in was more my thing and the scenery paired with your music and running commentary was a delight. Thank you!
Robert, Next time you are in the Sacramento area, please try to stop by the train museum in old town Sacramento. It is well worth the visit. Thanks for the great videos!
oh my word excellent vid Robert. I'm happy you saw so much in Yosmite which along with the Sleeping Bear Dunes in MI near where I grew are 2 of the most gorgeous US areas and the Cal Redwoods too. I wish I could return to Yosmite and the redwoods at least once more. Hope you have safe journeys
#166 Good morning, Robert. I was their back in 1963 when the Tioga Pass road was built. Spent hours parked while road engineers were sitting explosive charges to build the then gravel road. Best place in the world walk and enjoy the beauty of the Mountains. Maybe someday, the road to Bodie will be paved, too!
This is very good ... Well done i think too.. Ya i agree it's kinda a pain when you are out in the Olympic's where i live and have no connection and i spend several hours driving around to only get one bar.... lol .. Modern Marvel Tech they call it ..Say Robert tell us about the drone you use , make and model and why you picked this one ? Very good videos near the end of this one with the drone flying around , pretty cool tech really , not everyone likes that but for filming i think it's a great tool.. If you would have caulked your Minnie in a wide spot and went into Body , it's a pretty cool piece of history i'm sure you would have enjoyed it ..That is one old wild ghost town i would like to see drone footage of , well if the park service didn't mind it too much you doing that ..
Great episode they shot the movie High Plains drifter mono lake I love that area and Bodie is a very cool town but you were smart not to tear up your rig safe travels🤙🏼
Went to Tuolumne with my dad in 1979. We were tenting it but we weren't expecting the nights to be so cold. Spent a lot of time in the car with the heat blasting.
Robert your mountain 🏔 travels are my best to watch such beauty, I know first hand being that I Live in the mountains is the greatest! And also it was time for you to say good bye to your worn out hiking Boots 🥾🥾 time to make new beginnings to step into new terrain 😊😉
Seeing as you are on your way up to Washington state, don't forget to pop into Whidbey island and see our famous Deception Pass Bridge, its breathtaking.
A truly beautiful video! You have such a wonderful voice. I wish you would consider making 4 songs using your theme song. Verses for each of the 4 sections of the country. No one could create the verses like you from your experiences. Thank you for all you do!
Gorgeous scenery! Maybe I'll take a longer route to take this in next time I drive up to Washington State. Thank you for this. Forgot to mention, greatly appreciate the map at the end 👍
After noticing your Cafe Bustelo can, I ended up researching the company. Founded in the Bronx, my home town and now based in Miami, and loved by according to Wikipedia Cuban Exiles. I grew up with this coffee good choice Robert.
@@July4.1776 ...Eastern Sierras are a bucket list trip for me and my kids. I grew up in California and then lived there again until '05 when we moved to Texas. Lots to love about the state's scenic offerings. Lots to dislike about the livability there.
Tioga Rd was privately owned in the early 1900’s. So Yosemite had no eastern entrance. Steve Mather ( founder and first director of the NPS bought it for 10 grand and gave it to the NPS.....very generous man and we are grateful.
The Eastern Sierra is my favorite place to explore. I loved the hike you took to Yosemite point. I hope you will have the opportunity to return when you have more time to explore the area better. There are so many things that you missed.
This series is excellent Robert! I'd been hoping that you would do a series further up the west coast ever since your Pacific Coast Highway series of six years ago. Can't wait for the next instalment. We got up to Mendocino from SF on a coastal tour on honeymoon from the UK in 1999, and I've always been curious about what lay further north. BTW when I started following you I think you had around 5k subscribers - how times have changed :-)
I really enjoy your videos. I find them very helpful when planning my family RV travel trips. Thank you for keeping in the camping failure moments in your videos. We all have the same mishaps and just learn from trial and error. We have had so many problems I should write a book although I would probably scare too many people away from ever trying RV life. I found your New England trip from a couple summers ago very helpful and we will be retracing some of your steps this summer with many tweaks. I found your NYC tour to be there most helpful. And in a couple years, I would love to head to California and see some of these places too. .
I came through Lee Vining in the summer of 2002 in my new Winnebago Class C. It was the first time in my life that I had to pay $3 for a gallon of gas. I remember handing the clerk a $100 bill. The first time I ever paid $100 for a tankful of gas too. Thanks for the video. Brought back lots of memories.
Hey Robert, we were driving through Mobile, AL this afternoon and the motor homes were already parked under the interstate for the Mardi Gras season. There are hundreds of them in every size. The first parade is 2/7 and Mardi Gras day is 2/25. The city sells the spots for the entire festival season. A great place to do a live feed from the mini. We’ve just subscribed in the last few months but enjoy your adventures. We are currently living here and Mobile claims to be the originator of Mardi Gras but New Orleans is certainly the king. Keep posting , Hobie
It's was great to ride with you today. i Live in the little town of Rockmart Ga. I have always wanted to make this trip. My ex wife and her daughters are in Reno. The 2 girls live there. My ex lives in Pitt. Ks.. This was a great way to spend time this afternoon. Thanks again for the video. I'm glad you keep it real. Stay safe my friend.
I have a favorite stop along Tioga rd, I try to make it a lunch stop if possible, there is a picnic table, Yosemite creek, if your not looking for it you will miss it. Another good stop for lobster taquitos and fish tacos is at the bottom of Tioga rd, Whoa Nelly Deli! A mobile station with a great kitchen.
I live in Odenville Alabama, just north of Birmingham. I had the chance to do exactly what you were doing, and my son and my wife told me to buy some land. Man I really Envy you so much. I'm actually sitting in my camper watching this LOL love your videos
Good opportunity to upgrade to lithium. When I heard you say you were going to hike up that trail after getting blisters the day before, I was thinking, hmmm, I bet not. It might take a week before those heal. All good stuff though and very enjoyable scenery.
Love your videos, Robert. But when you decided to head up to Bodie with your trailer I thought you were in for big troubles ahead. I enjoyed my own trek to Bodie in 2015 but I was in a rental SUV and it was still very rough going, washboard, heck yeah, to say the least. I’m so glad you found a place to turn around. That was your best decision of the day! Go back one day when you’re not hauling . I also have to say, you scared the crap out of me with that super loud beeping that, I think, signified tire trouble, is that it? I jumped up and thought it was my o2 concentrator, I couldn’t see any red lights but that beeping was loud, man. I was changing from my home machine to the portable model then the beeping continued, and I was really confused. When you addressed the noise from within your system, I was relieved but still rattled, let me tell you. Glad we were both okay there. Take care. Keep bringing us on your adventures!
Robert have the tire shop replace your valve stems with heavy duty truck stems. They have copper stem with rubber base. They will handle your sensors better. Always insist on great quality valve stems too.. for emergencies you buy Colby emergency valve stems, you can replace them yourself on the road..
Wow, can’t believe I missed the chance to attend the meet up at Lagunitas. But looking at your time line my wife and I were on a 6,100 mile trip through the mid west in our C class during your swing through our neck of the woods. I’ll have to pay better attention to your live broadcasts to catch the next opportunity.
Hi Robert... great video. My husband and I just bought a 20ft. R-Pod. and are going to be doing a lot of traveling around in that. who knows where we will end up.. lol but I am sure it will be fun. Anywho.... We live in Oregon and near the Portland area... it would be fun if you decide to have a small meet up in the area. will be following your trip. take care.
Toooallame...how it's said...no meadows shots...too bad, the area up there is so rich, top of the world...love the drive on the east side of Sierras, so pretty. Bodie, I'm not surprised, that ghost town is really a weird place, lots of reports on mood swings and fights after visiting that place, it seems there are ghosts there, that play with peoples emotions once they leave, and they wouldn't even let you in. That place is haunted. You might have had more tire and electrical problems after visiting that place..lol I loved this video, the real deal is no internet and how much we rely on that these days, and all the other stuff of life we all have to deal with. I also enjoyed that you flew the drone finally. I loved seeing Mono lake again too. And it's awesome you are heading to Petaluma, where I began my antique business, and lived in Rohnert Park for many years, in a past life, when I was in my 20-30's. Wonderful Robert! Thanks so much!
The fish tacos at Whoa Nellie Deli (inside the Arco) are outstanding. They’re a must try next time Robert. I’ll be there in late April/early May. Safe Travels.

New version of your song..like it...
Great point Jason! I agree it helps think of ways to prepare when we go on the road and how to maybe handle tough situations better
I agree the mishaps are entertaining 😄
Those hiking shoes have walked on places many of us will never see. They did an amazing job.
They had a VIBRAM sole; be sure your replacement shoes have the same long lasting & sticky sole when hiking.
MAN ROBERT..THANKS A MILLION FOR ALL THE HARD WORK THAT YOU ENJOY..CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT VIDEO.

And in a couple years, I would love to head to California and see some of these places too. .
Nice episode again, greetings from a big fan from the Netherlands!
Nice Video haven’t really kept up watching the videos but still interesting!
Buying gas @ Lee Vining is definitely a "ROOKIE" mistake.
Love your videos. This one was special as you drove through my town - Gardnerville. Good thing I didn't blink. Haha.
Another great video, thanks for showing that not all trips are without issues like some youtubers like you to believe.
Keep up the GREAT WORK!
WOW! Almost at a 100k subscribers!! Good luck robert!
Hey for 22 or a 25 bucks I would stay there a night of two. Looking forward to Lake Tahoe and the drive along the coast.😊
The English captions are quality! Great for English learners. You pronounce so clearly too!
Definately pretty out there! Although I have been bunge watching KeyWest videos since it is cold up here!
All good stuff though and very enjoyable scenery.
i wish i knew you were heading thru our neck of the woods. definately would have welcomed you at our place in the central valley
Thank you for that great trip.
Thanks for another incredible video!
Enjoyy watching you RObert
Next time you can camp at Tioga lake, Junction campground or Ellery campground instead of Tuolumne. Those camps have great views.
Oh geees Robert.. you should have bronzed those hiking shoes and raffles them off! LOL.
Really good video thanks for sharing
Hi Robert... great video. My husband and I just bought a 20ft. R-Pod. and are going to be doing a lot of traveling around in that. who knows where we will end up.. lol but I am sure it will be fun. Anywho.... We live in Oregon and near the Portland area... it would be fun if you decide to have a small meet up in the area. will be following your trip. take care.
Thank you for the videos. They are great.
Next time for sure
love that road did it many times in my younger years
Robert you have plenty of opportunities to vlog on how you can upgrade your towable for weather when it drops under 32F .. or say
THAT WAS DAMN FUNNY WHEN U DRAINED 'BOTH' BATTERIES ..REAL LIFE, I LIKED THAT!
