One thing they didn't mention about the parentleave is that 90 days can not be split. So each parent have 90 days each that is only for them. And you can take days up until the child is around 12 years old.

Swedish meatballs are a completely different thing and dish compared to it's roots from turkey.
So while the fundamental idea came from Turkish cuisine at the time, there is nothing turkish about the dish today.

Me and my husband split our parental leave as follows: 1 year maternal leave (me), 6 months paternal leave (my husband). At 18 months our kids started kindergarden/preschool and the remaining days of parental leave were saved and spent later, here and there. 👍🏻

One thing I've notised about many other countries is the lack of a bottle recykling refund system. Sweden and a few other countries has a small deposit on PET-bottlesand aluminium cans. If that was in place globally we'd see a lot less plastic bottles and beer cans on the ground or in the water. If you don't collect your deposit, someone else will. It's the only form of trickle down economics that actually trickles down.

Yes! Unfortunately, I think the 1-2 crowns we have in Sweden aren't really enough for most people. In Germany and I think Finland as well, it's 25 cents.

We split parental leave 50/50 as well we could and it was amazing. I could use my days in small portions to work shorter hours and pick up early from school/daycare until my youngest was 8. We had so many wonderful days of going to the forest, museums or just chillax with playing Zelda.

We binge drink. And we have imported the southern European style of drinking moderately every day. So we're kind of under the influence during the week and get hammered in the week-end.
Most people have some IKEA stuff, usually bought when we were young, most older people buy furniture that are of better quality.
Other inventions are the propeller, the turret, the adjustable wrench, the computer mouse, the computer color monitor, the zipper (could be attributed to Finland), dynamite, the Pacemaker, did he mention Spotify?
    Lots more ofc...

From what I experience in rural Sweden. There are no pubs. Especially within walking distance. No public transport home from towns (which are 70km away). Taxis cost a lot. So if you want to drink,it's Systembolaget. And as that is far away,or order to a village pick up point, when you buy, you buy a lot. And then you have a friend/ neighbour over to drink. And it's rude to not offer all there is. So everyone gets wasted. I find it more irresponsible than going to the pub for a couple of drinks and a chat. Or picking up one bottle of wine from the off licence.

Alot of our products, traditions and norms, are things we perfected from insperations of others, some gave birth to new things based on those ideas alone
This is how Evolution is born!
Same can be said about every country, wanting to bring exotic and exciting things from far away regions of the world
I think in this case with meatballs or anything spanning back so many years, really!
Would also mean: far to many variants or interpretations has been made (Kinda like the whisper game)
That the products today are simply to far along or to developed, to even dare claim them not being yours
Marco Polo having brought the: Gellato, Pita, Noddles to Itali
Does that mean Pizza is from the middle east? Just because IF, going back would mean
Pizza was derived from Pita bread, which was in turn an interpretation of the naan bread?
Or if kicked in reverse? Sorbet is Italian because Marco brought Chinesse ice cream home giving insperation to Gellato?
The further back you go, the more of actual satire this comment will eventually become...

The quality of Swedish Healthcare is 2nd to none (or if you like, world-leading). The problem is the availability... I admit to that (being a player in the system). A result of coward polititians not admitting that we can't do everything everywhere. And lack of government supervision of our national health resources. We are going down because of political incompetence. So true and so sad. BTW, I really appreciate your reaction videos to Swedish phenomenons.

I must say that this image of Sweden is not really true nowadays with social equality and ecology. It was ones but our current government does not prioritize this. This is very different little nuggets of Sweden. And the video is a bit old. I bought a lot from Ikea when i was a student. The swedish meatballs is different in seasoning. The turks got their written language with the help from a swede, your welcome. Now our relationship with Turkey is very tense beocuse of a lot of things, more important than meatballs. I don't drink alcohol because of medicine I'm taking. But I think Systembolaget is very important. It reminds people of the responsibility you have when you drink because there are the same as when you do not!! Alcohol have been important for a lot of reasons in the past, but nowadays we have clean water, warm houses and sodas and juices.

The people who owns H&M is not doing enough, they don't do enough for the enviroment and the fact that they are so insanely rich means that profit is their only goal. Future more they have worsened the working conditions in their stores wish doesn't make them good. Our schools are not good anymore due to the right wing parties
introduced the market school, since then Swedish schools has been on an downward spiral unfortunately.

The comment on meatballs are wrong...
We "stole" the KÅLDOMAR - idea from Turkey, but it didnt stick so we changed the recepie to fit our taste!!!
THEN the Meatballs were invented: roll balls with the filling as weve always done, but spice them as Turkish Dolmes! But... We preferr pork and beef to Goat and sheep...
So... The Filling in ORIGINAL (discuting) "Kåldolmar" and Swedish Meatballs has actually nothing in common...
    Just saying

Systembolaget is kind of counter-productive. The idea is to prevent people from drinking too much, but it makes people buy more than they "need" when it's open, thus drinking too much.

There is no good balance unless you remove the ability to purchase alcohol all together and put a limit in bars where you have to stay below a certain alcohol limit...
No way in hell that will actually work for any culture, smuggling and black market alcohol would sky rocket. So instead we have this somewhat decent middle ground that works for most people, and while we do buy to much... As one age I often find I don't drink it all and just instead save it for another occasion.

Do not blame Sweden for Henry Kissinger and Barack Obama got the piece-prize, its all Norway's fault. The Swedish academi did not want to give out the peace price, becuse it would degenerate into a political prize, so Norway completely "selfless" acepte the burden to give out the peace price, and did give it to president Theodore Roosevelt, who was a strong suporter of Norwegian independence.

You can't be totally wasted when buying alcohol, you must walk straight and be talking in an okey way. You can't buy alcohol and sell or give to anyone under 20 years of age, then you get "blocked". Blocked means you have to stand by the cashier and ask them to go and pick up their alcohol.
