I’m 56 now and the older I get the more it feels the time flies. Things that feel like they happened 5 years ago are actually 10+ years ago. I see people complain about turning 50 and I’m always like I wish I was still 50 ya know? Then I try to make myself feel better and think that someone say 65yo would give anything to be 56 again 😂
Happy to know that others feel the same way 😄 I do think she's a pretty great actor as well. Her performances in Ingrid Goes West, Emily The Criminal and Black Bear were amazing
They released the trailer (or at least this video was uploaded (maybe they released a trailer for this yesterday someplace???)) 1 day after Aubrey Plaza turned 40 🤣
What coincidences: I’m turning 40 on September 13th, right on the release date of this movie!! And I love Aubrey Plaza since the « Happiest season »! ❤
Aubrey was the young 20 year old on Parks….. sigh…. So I’m starting to think everyone goes through this, but I’m 43 and I’m telling my newly minted high school graduate niece that this is the time, and she’s so lucky and not to waste it. And she gives me that sure response nodding. But I’m looking at her and I know she doesn’t get it and she’s taking that youth for granted. I tell you. Being young, means you get to make mistakes and recover. Your brain, body, and soul is brand new. You can do whatever you want! But them kids don’t get it. I sometimes think an 80 year old is saying the same thing about me. I’d really love a do-over once I finish my current life.
You can still make mistakes at 40 😅. Maybe because I'm neurodivergent, I worked and studied in my 20s so I could travel and find love now. There's no timeline you have to follow. Corporate society made people think we have to do things in a certain order because that's how they designed it (for neurotypicals who think of women as cows). But many of us don't believe in that crap.
Im 62, still in great shape, 5'10", 172 lbs. Still wearing a 32 inch waist, i still feel like im in my mid 30's, you're only as old as you feel, or young
I enjoyed hearing the line in the movie revealing the title and the context of it's name. Don't see that too much, and definitely more clever than your average switchy-schwoo movie title.
In film it is used as a device for introducing something 'impossible'. It is the same as the coming of age trope that uses magic as a puberty analogy. Or the traumatic event to introduce a psychosomatic monster. But I personally think it would be more interesting if this time spirit appeared without any obvious entrance point/justifcation.
This looks great. But I got to say, 40 seems so young now that I hit 60 and actually feel like I’m having a “midlife” crisis. The 40s were effing cake!
There's a lot more ageism against us women. I feel great at 40 and finally have so much to offer the world and partners, but society tells me I'm old and don't deserve love simply because I'm not a dude. It's so stupid. Especially since men age more than women. It's why men put up old photos but women put up current photos and just say they are 5 years younger😅
Tempus fugit…… Time flies. Live your life and be adventurous! The years WILL fly by FASTER than you think! You will NOT get them back. Tomorrow is NOT guaranteed. Life DOES take very unexpected twists and turns. Here today, gone tomorrow. DON’T surround yourself with or put importance on material things…. At the end of the day they really are meaningless, and you can’t take them with you at the end. Love yourself. Love others. One day they will be gone from your life. Enjoy the little moments. Be kind.
I have mixed feelings about this movie. The last scene in this trailer was the biggest turnoff, but still kinda interested. Audrey Plaza is a big reason for the interest. It's like a movie I'd go to on $7 Tuesdays at this 1 theater, but like, I'm there for another movie, & it gets out. Then I'm like, "oh, it's still early, & I have all you can eat & drink soda & popcorn. Whatelse is showing?"
When does middle age start? Say that you live to be 78. With just a little luck, that's a reasonable outcome. That would mean that the middle third of your life starts at 26. That makes 26 the beginning of middle age even for a good, long, life. But - as some people argue - middle age is the middle of you ADULT life. OK, let's unpack that. Your adult life starts at about 20 or so. That makes your adult life (if you are lucky) about 58 years. In round numbers, each third of your ADULT life gets about 20 years. That makes 40 (actually just a little less) the unambiguous beginning of middle age. Stop kidding yourself folks - 40 is the beginning of middle age.
Stop kidding yourself. Nobody takes advice from you. People just read/hear what you say and then they think "what a douche" and go on with their life without considering your opinion. You should consider not saying anything, ever.
Well that depends.. Some would not count the years of childhood when considering when "middle age" starts. So if you discount the first 21 years and assume a lifespan of 78 years that would make the midpoint at age 39 or 40. So young = 22-40, middle age = 41-59 and old age = 60-78.
I’m 56 now and the older I get the more it feels the time flies. Things that feel like they happened 5 years ago are actually 10+ years ago. I am open to watch any movie with Aubrey Plaza, she brings special energy to everything.
Ditto. Love her.

Happy to know that others feel the same way 😄
I do think she's a pretty great actor as well. Her performances in Ingrid Goes West, Emily The Criminal and Black Bear were amazing
I agree 100 percent. Most recently I saw Emily the Criminal and Life After Beth. Both great movies. She was great in Scott Pilgrim too.
Aubrey Plaza is a damn National Treasure!
I agree with the sentiment. 38 is my age. I would most definitely love to speak with my younger self. Many things evolve throughout time.

Saaame 😢😂
As someone who's 42, everything is depressing.
We are still young y’all. 😅
40? 😂 You're still a spring chicken
Looks kind of funny and I am here for any Audrey Plaza movie. Putting in on my calendar :)
When did Maisy Stella grow up? I still see her as a child from the show Nashville! Now I feel old.
I was thinking the same thing. But I'm happy she doesn't look plastic like her sister does.
This looks great, and I seriously want that lake house!
Aubrey* Plaza :-P --- this looks hilarious!

Audrey Plaza is amazing, and this film looks incredible!!! :D
So great to see Maisy Stella again! Can't wait!
What if this is a sequel to Safety Not Guaranteed :D
deep cut
If only... but some movies don't need sequels. A little mystery and open-endedness is nice.
it took me the entire trailer to realize that aubrey plaza was supposed to be an older version of her that she was hallucinating.
I love friendly movies featuring people hallucinating the whole movie
"The only thing you can't get back is time"
and the ones you love, which is arguably more important than time.
Huh, this looks different! :D Definitely always here for an Aubrey Plaza movie!
I think I can give this a play, looks sweet and adventurous.
I like the sentiment. I'm 38. Definitely would love to talk to my younger self. Lots change with time.
This makes me love Aubrey more and more.

Psychedelics are fun, but watching people pretend to be on them on film is not worth it.
That's funny, and true!
They weren't pretending. watch the behind the scenes
I know they should have put them on actual psychedelics and then made the movie

If I could talk to my younger self I would definitely tell myself to watch out for the female chads I dated. I’d be so much happier now.
I'm a simple gal, I see Aubrey Plaza I click watch.
Adding Tame Impala in the trailer just sealed the deal for me.
40 is the new young adult
I'll watch that

"Aubrey"
Trailer released when she turned 40, first line, i am nit 40 yet, i am 39 years of age

This looks awesome, a great kind of weird, while being relatable, and with Audrey . Who wants more?
LOL yeah Audrey is the new and improved Aubrey!
I probably waste too much time thinking about not wasting time
Aubrey Plaza is in it, so yeh im watching this - AND it looks kind of great
This is kinda like the anime ORANGE. But in place of the locker and notes, it’s a cellphone.
Every Aubrey knows what it feels like to give up and start responding to Audrey.
I can’t wait to see this girl’s movie. It’s going to be funny I hope. I’ll mark the date that’s playing on my calendar. :)
My favorite movie is "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" because I just love a protagonist with a twisted back story.

Cool, saw the movie. No need to see it in the theater.
what's the song on the trailer?

So, these girls go on a mushroom trip while camping one one of them hallucinates Aubrey Plaza.. Sounds like a solid pitch!

Tame Impala as a soundtrack? must be good
