I really like this first round pick by LA.
I could see why the Kings decided to trade back because they knew Sacha Boisvert was going to be gone before pick no. 21
I like this pick. Greentree's speed and playing style reminds me a lot of Jeff Carter.
We only got a 2nd round pick for Sean Durzi when we traded him.
He just signed a 4 year
6 million dollars a year contract with Utah !!! That’s more than Matt Roy signed for with Capitals. I hated letting Durzi go and would have rather of shipped off Spence. Prediction, Durzi gets over 50 points this year with Utah !
Solberg was drafted out of the Norwegian league, as weak of a league as it gets. I'm glad the Kings didn't pick him up. He may never acclimate to a higher league. It's a huge step. Greentree is awesome. Captain and power forward. Exactly what the Kings need. I don't know how, but maybe the Kings can swing a deal and get Ryder Ritchie in the 2nd. Having prospects like Greentree, Ziemmer, and possibly Ritchie will make the team competitive and the type of players you need to win instead of these guys in Paddington Bear pajamas.
It's a risk for them for sure but with their pool they have over there it's probably worth it for them and good for us to grab a character player
I have been a HUGE critic of Rob Blake but I really like all the recent free agent signings he has made in last few days. The only thing that pissed me off is the resigning of Trevor Lewis. Lewis will just take time away from other deserving players like; Thomas, Turcotte, and primarily Fagemo.
If Lewis had a 2 way contract where he could be a mentor in Ontario with call up possibilities to Kings I would be fine with that. But i am sooooo sick of aging vets taking time away from our youth !!!!!!!

I really like the idea of Stamkos. Guy scored 40 goals last season.
He has also made nearly $100 million dollars in career earnings. Do you really think he is motivated by more money for another year or 2?
At this point I think our development of our young prospects is our best hope. I feel if we sign these guys to lots of money then we’ll just be looking for short term and if it fails then everything else fails too
@@HockeyFan102 my point is. If he signed with LA i don't think money would be the motivating factor.
Tampa is way past their prime. LA is just hitting theirs. LA is comfortably a playoff team. What they haven't become yet is a legitimate threat to win a cup.
Stamkos would not only provide production. He would provide invaluable playoff experience and leadership.
He also has intimate knowlege of the 1-3-1. Tampa won 2 of their cups playing it.
Maybe turning a team from a playoff team into a legitimate contender would be a really tempting offer.
I think bringing back arvidsson plus another piece like toffoli or bertuzzi is more likely. They need F depth. Not sure they want to rely on all 3 of turcotte, Thomas, and fagemo. I think they're letting lizotte, lewis, and kaliyev go and they already shipped off grundstrom.
Stamkos deal is just waiting for Monday, seems like it’s all but done.
Hopefully this 1st round pick developes into something productive. Last 20 years kings have only had success with Kopitar, Toffoli, Kempe and recently Byfield as far as frwds go. Seems like kings have to always trade for scoring instead of drafting them. If Turcotte and Thomas don't pan out this season, it will be 2 more players we can add to the long list of subpar frwds kings scouts have been drafting.
At 18 we won’t see him for what. 5 years? Wish they hadn’t gone back to my least favorite logo for uniforms nest season. Going to be hard to watch.
The best logo the Kings had was the original. I wish they'd go back to that crown.
I heard he might play college hockey next season. Then the Kings will recall him after next season and assign him to the Reign

@@rayf5228 Yeah, they're very simplistic and bland. I wish they would go back to the original colors. They went to the Silver and black trying to create a new identity after losing for so many years and when Gretzky came to town. And they are very similar to what we had-- the changes are very subtle.
