rushed it, never patched big bugs, used already-existing models to create the chinese civ, and sell the whole game for MORE than it originally cost. wow. I remember 15 years ago I bought my Age of Mythology Gold Edition (The Titans included) for $30. now EE + Chinese is nearly $40

@@tling321, ok that works if you know some background about the Chinese mythology, you know why is hated? because other civilizations titan doesn't need any background history or something to know why their Titans are the Titans.

Egyptian titans are badass, so are the Greek ones and Norse and the atlantean one as well. This one looks like his mom had Zika when carrying it in the womb

Unfortunately almost all the TOTD expansion is a reskin of the 4 original civs

I grew up with AOM: The Gold Edition and it was my favourite game. Then I got this version on Steam with the Chinese expansion, and I gotta says that the Chinese are pretty fun to play as. I love their myth units and their siege units, I love the idea of gardens that generate resources and favour (also some of their god powers are the best in the whole game, such as the Earth Dragon and the Inferno). However, the "Tale of the Dragon" campaign is a disaster, so much so that I couldn't even bring myself to finish it. Also the Chinese titan is pretty much just a re-skin of the Atlantean titan.
Powers are cool but that titan seems generic.
The entire campaign seems low budget and very little effort, just reskins of existing units. Pretty unbalanced and universe choice of myth units too
Overall the worst expansion
And boring
I expected Yao Ming for a titan but Pangu works just fine.

I might be the only who liked the extension except for the titan? I didn’t played the full campaign but I like the graphics of the Chinese mythology. Also, Nü Wa is the best from the 3.
It's sad to see this DLC being so hated on. I'm actually happy that this game got something like this many years after its release back in 2002. but don't get me wrong. I do understand where the hate is coming from. Let's just hope that there's going to be a definitive edition of this game that finetunes the Chinese and perhaps even add one or more civs

Surprisingly, I thought that too when I watched it the first time. When I bought it I saw it was real.
Can only hope the Steam Workshop or other mods can fix it, make new models, and so on.

Man I wished they poured more time into this expansion. It seemed like so much fun honestly. Hopefully next they'll go for Roman mythology maybe?
Clueless I bought EE+Tale of The Dragon on 2016 Christmas and I can tell you, this expansion is very enjoyable, beautiful buildings, more strategies to fight with war units. Great Chinese campaign! Campaign only about 12 parts, but great story, 9/10 for me at this expansion, but I recommend to buy it in sale, because it's much expensive.

The Romans didn't have any real developed mythology like the Greeks and Egyptians. They had a general, basic polytheistic understanding of the world with different deities, but these deities lacked stories and any real myths connected to them. The Romans were more pragmatic in their outlook on the world. It was when they came into contact more with Greek culture that they mythology developed along the lines of pre-existent Greek myth.

The... Fuck??? That titan is just a shitty Cerberus reskin! No way they messed up THIS bad.
The devs really didnt bother at all with animations, or simply didn't know how to. Almost all Chinese units are reskins of existing units

I just found out about this DLC for Age of Mythology and I'm sort of underwhelmed (The great flood is neat idea though). To be honest I'm surprised they went with Chinese instead of Indian. IMO Hindu pantheon has some much more interesting variations and vibrant looks to their gods and mythic creatures. Missed opportunity.
How there is nobody talking about all the gods having the same powers? This expansion seems just... lazy.

The titan... fits in the attack of titan universe. But not in Age of Mythology...
They should refund everyone who bought this "DLC", remove it from steam and from the game, update the vanilla game to remove all vestiges of this thing, apologize and offer this as a mod on the community forum.
