    The 14 cop cars finally got the SRT suspension and brakes 1st offered on civilian Chargers and Challengers in '12. This was a major upgrade to the 06-11 cars, with new p/s pumps, revised rack valving for better road feel, increased caster angle for better straight ahead tracking and faster steering wheel return to center off corners, and finally, the sorely needed big brakes. These cars with the V8 also got bigger oil coolers, bigger half shafts for the rear, better suspension bushings frt and rear, as well as better rear suspension subframe mounts again taken from SRT cars. Bring on pt 3!

    • @UnionThugg
      @UnionThugg 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Pursuit models do share parts with SRT models, especially from 2015+.
      However, the BR9 Brake package is police-specific, as parts for the Pursuits must meet or beat certified police durability and performance requirements.
      This is also true of the cooling, electrical, and suspension.
      Long story short, after 2010, the Pursuit models share very few parts with any of the retail cars.

    Truly hurts when some people call 11-14 as a second gen charger. The real second gen chargers are 1968-70. 06-10 chargers are First gen LX, 11-current are Second gen LD.

    I have a 2011 with the 5.7 V8 - what I can report is that the front end suspensions on these cars wear out FAST (I had a 2009 before this, and the parts are nearly if not exactly the same). Fortunately, the parts are easy to find and replace (I've done it a few times).

Im starting to think they forgot to put police package on the exhaust.

    if you ever watched Fast Five there was a part and time where dom, brian han and rome was racing 2nd gen pursuit dodge chargers, they made a few mistakes while filming, you gotta pay real close attention to the windows and the taillights, i ended up seeing 1st gen chargers from the side views and when they drove past the camrea the CGI made it look like a 2nd gen charger that was the first seeing i noticed with the pursuit chargers in the movie. when dom and them lined up at the stop light they was revving their chargers and the first thing i noticed was there was a supercharger whine on brians car and these engines of sound effects did not sound like 5.7s, they had to be stock 3.6l or stock 5.7s, idk i just noticed that.

    I once sat in the back seats of a Charger Police car but it's not because of violation or anything but rather I had to get a short lift to some convention event going on far away from home and the bus lines only went as far as 2-3 KM away from the destination. The officer was thankfully kind and helped me in dropping me there. It's embarrassing nevertheless and one that made me want to get my driver's licenses right away.
    As for the 2011-2014 Chargers it self, I still see them being here in Bahrain used although it's been largely replaced by the newer 2015+ Chargers.

      MDS is not the cause of the lifter issue.
      Oil is not the cause of the lifter issue.
      The cause of the lifter issue is ... lifters. SRT - they do the engineering for all Pusuit models - began using what enthusiasts refer to as "Hellcat lifters" beginning in 2019. So far, there have been zero warranty claims with those cars.

  • @UnionThugg
    @UnionThugg 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This info is woefully outdated.
    In 2019, FCA Fleet sold about 21,000 Charger Pursuit models. About 10,000 of those were the 5.7 AWD model, 6000 were 5.7 RWD, and 5000 were V6.
    Pricing for the 2019s were a little lower than previous models:
    V6 - about $20,500
    V8 - about $22,000
    AWD - $23,500
    For 2020, the ordering window was very short, as supplies of new A580 5-spd transmissions were depleted (Kokomo had discontinued production in August of 2018). Just 2 models were offered- the V6 and AWD.
    For 2021, the plan is to offer 4 models: a RWD & AWD V6 (850RE), and a RWD and AWD V8 (8HP70). While various rumors exist to the discontinuance of the AWD V8 model, the Jeep system is expected to be used in the Charger.
    The new Charger, a re-engineered LD architecture, is expected in late 2022 as a 2023 model. Fleet has confirmed the Pursuit models will continue.

      @@MarspeedCars Allpar has the latest. FCA Fleet has confirmed they are dedicated to the police sedan market, and there will be Charger Pursuit models without interruption after the very short 2020 model year. The Durango program was enhanced in January with a number of Charger Pursuit features incorporated into the popular SUV police models (Pursuit and SSV). They do not plan on achieving a Pursuit rating for the Rsm SSV, as it already exceeds the performance of the F-150 Responder.
