I just bought a 2019 Charger 5.7 AWD Pursuit with 60k miles and 1700 idle hours a few months ago. All I had to do was fix a ripped front cv boot (replaced axle), and swap the tires over to some nicer aftermarket wheels. I also added paddle shifters and led headlight bulbs (lasfit). I'm running a mobil 1 extended performance oil filter for better idle oil pressure to prevent the premature "hemi tick". Other than that, this thing will be a beast in the winter for the next 5-10 years I will own it.
I had a 2014 Dodge Charger with the V8 AWD. It was my favorite vehicle I've ever owned so far to this point. I had it straight piped with some nice little red fender decals like the corvettes had. You'll absolutely love it
Carpet and seats out ASAP. New carpet and Dynamat, clean headliner, seats gets thorough cleaning. Pick up a trunk lid, console, and stock grill at a salvage yard, and weld in a patch to get rid of the spotlight hole. Betcha the strobe lights are still in the headlights and taillights 😂
I had almost the same car, a 2013 model with rwd. I hated the police seats. Super firm and no bolstering on the sides. Also had airbags in them, complicating a potential swap. The handling was very good for such a big car. The hard struts took speed humps at 30 mph with no issue. The gearing really gave it some kick but the 5 speed made 80 mph = 2500 rpm. The brakes were not as good as the Caprice PPV I had before. It was a really fun, affordable car until one of the lifters failed (169k miles
I think that was the 06-10...I have a small dealer and bought dozens of 11-14 Chargers with low to high miles none needed suspension..The 06-10 had that issue of rattling suspension at any mileage..My Dad bought a new 06 Charger R/T and after 20,000 the suspension rattled, was repaired under warranty and in 2011 it was doing it again ,he traded it for another Charger RT and that went 150,000 miles with no suspension issues...Now Cop cars are driven hard and maybe they can have suspension issues on 11-14 but its not a wide/common problem as sadly the 06-10 versions,Have a great day!
Soon as I bought one had spend 1,900 to get sway bar steering rack n pinion transfer case parts n all to get it fixed still hear noises I just hope it doesn’t happen again love it though.
I am slowly saving up my TH-cam $ to buy one of these in the next few years I'm hoping. I specifically want an AWD Police version. Don't really care if it's V6 or V8, so long as it's physically in great shape. If it needs some mechanical work, I can always get some stuff fixed on it. These are likely one of my all time favourite cars ever along with fox body Mustangs.
Dont, just get a quick job that pays ok,I would recommend Amazon driver or Lowes and just save those checks for atleast 4 months an you'll have the money. On my 3rd month and I'm considering a bike or one of these
I just got one of these myself, a 2014 Charger Pursuit which if i remember correctly was from the Kentucky State Police. It's been debadged and I'm worried about all the work and money I'm going to have to put into it to make it my daily driver, but it's really really fun to drive so I'm doing it. My question: were all 2014 charger pursuits AWD or did they make some that were RWD? The lot I'm buying mine from is telling me it's RWD but from what I'm finding online it's contradicting that. Any idea?
@JasonGarcia-i4w no mine is fine but I know what your issue might be. A lot of times when they're doing the upfitting they either unplug or cut the cable to the horn. Fortunately mine was just unplugged so it could plug back in and was just fine. Yours might need that but it might also be destroyed in which case you'll have to install a horn button. It's illegal in most states for car dealers to sell a car without a horn but if you got it direct from auction they can sell it how they want. Check the connection behind the horn make sure it's plugged in because they usually unplug it so they can wire it to the standard cop horn which is that lower pitched staticy noise cop horns make
$37,500 is just the beginning price. They contract the lights and other mods to specialty companies. I worked for a company that sold electric scooters to Providence for traffic enforcement. They charge a pretty penny for all the mods. You probably have a ton of add ones that cost the taxpayers thousands. And a bunch of splices into the wiring just for starters. Be careful officer Jake, you could find yourself in the back seat of your car. And not in a good way.😮😮😮😅😅😅😅
Nah dodge has all that factored into the price. Most fire depts I’ve dealt with in the Midwest had all that figured for f250 fire trucks, police charges and durangos also.
It’s not about the dents and dings, every single mile on that car is hard miles. That engine spent most of its life idling, which is terrible for a gas engine.

The oil filter actually do something? Like can you tell by looking at the gauge?
Best way to obtain one?
@@based1492 you can get the at police auctions and you can just Google it and find one, or just search Dodge charger Pursuit for sale in your area
LUCAS Synthetic oil stabilizer, it helps.
I’m glad these 11-14 chargers finally get recognition

these Chargers dont get the attention they deserve. Cant wait to see more videos with this thing!!
Please keep posting about this charger 🙏🏽
I have railed on one of these out in the sand dunes. Absolute blast and surprisingly good with tires at street pressure.
I just bought a 2013 FHP hemi pursuit Charger and love it. Like most it needs a few things done like a new paint job, otherwise no problems.
This could turn out to be such a cool build
Only thing it needs is some wheels, sick find.
I just bought a 2019 version for the same money. I plan to keep it for a while as I await the next auction when I plan to buy two more and flip them.
Make sure you depig it. Very important
I been thinking about buying one not a pursuit. I want to put a 392 and 8spd in it. What else would I need to?
great video Jake!
More drivetrain parts equals more problems. Good luck. The PTU on my 2015 Chrysler is already crapping out.
i have a awd 14 myself x nj state police, love itt
Just picked up a 2014 Pursuit. The horn doesn't work. Any ideas on how to fix it other than the fuses or relays?
Yay you finally posted abt the awd charger yessir
fluid film or surface shield it! makes for good content

I just picked one from the same year. The horn doesn't work. I checked fuses and relays. Did you have the same issue?

How much weight do you think a cop car would have in official use, Batman stuff in the trunk plus electronics etc ? 100lbs ?
Carrier bearing. replace driveshaft
I'm inside my unmarked unit now that same one now.
Pedal Commander that sucker!
Put a hellcat in it
Clean those leaves out of the garage.

These and Caprice PPVs are best bang for your buck.
I’m glad these 11-14 chargers finally get recognition
