      If you’re out often, you’re bound to run into me! I’ve run the Tusk Dsports which are like the d606. It’s great in all but the sand which was why I hadn’t gone to the 606.

    I just came to see if you crashed on the trail or not 😂. You made it 👍. I was on the Husky, and live in Tubac, so I ride that stuff often. That trash keeps building up, people are still moving through there, even though the border seems to be wide open. If we could get the people that put the water out there to pick up the damn empty bottles, that would be a good start 😡
    Also, the cacti is called Ocotillo

    All the good reviews of the Kove have me pumped. Call me crazy but I’m selling AT and Beta 300 and getting one in the spring.

      I went from the ktm 500 and 300 tpi to just the Kove. I’m happy but would like a two stroke again as a ST bike.

    Looks fun and challenging, but not torturous, if you stay on the right areas. Great luck that you ran into the trail makers. I need to find something like that around here.

      Red Springs is probably one of the coolest single tracks I’ve seen in AZ.

    Another fantastic video! Keep up the great work! PS: Pulling the trigger on my KOVE in May. Love to link up and clean those trails with ya! (I'm one state over in Vegas)
    To answer your questions: 1) What do I think of AZ? - great! 2) What do I think of your riding - great! 3) What do I think of immigrants trashing the desert? - not cool.

    The bike looks great. I noticed that you are running a Trail Tech Voyager. What wiring harness did you use? The universal harness will just give me the GPS, but I would like to have speed, RPM, Etc. But they do not have a harness for the Kove yet.

    • @DirtByk
      @DirtByk  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Voyager Pro uses separate leads for each sensor and is completely universal for any bike. The rpm lead wraps around the ignition wire, the water temp is measured on a little metal fin sensor that sticks in your radiator fins, the speedo is either a wire run off a magnet on the front wheel or gps speed. If you need clarification, Trail tech has great customer service.

    In far north AZ here at UT border with my KOVE 450 Rally. Just got in some Pirelli Scorpion Rally race (the ones designed for DAKAR) tires looking forward to trying as fair bit of soft sand on some of the trails right by home and looking to get better traction along with long wear. Have mainly compact dirt, gravel, and sand around here.
    Not as tall lugs as the agressive dirt bike tires and they are designed for the larger/heavier Rally bikes. Are a 90/10% off/on road DOT tire that are R speed rated and same full load rating like the stock tires where most other common dirt tires are M speed rated and slightly less load rated. Really thought about either the Kenda Parker DT or Maxxis Maxxcross Desert IT but they are the much lower M speed rating with a lower load rating and only come in the taller 120/100-18 rear size (~1 to 1.5" taller). The Pirelli's should hold up better with the shorter lugs and are designed specifically for the Rally race bikes. Price is between the Kenda Parker DT and Maxxis Desert IT.
    What do you think of the 50 tooth rear versus the 51 tooth rear you have been running? I have a 51 tooth rear sprocket will be installing when switch over to the Pirelli Scorpion Rally tires to help slow that idle speed down some. Still stock exhaust right now but will be doing a custom FMF Q4 exhaust to open it up a bit soon.

    • @DirtByk
      @DirtByk  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think the Pirelli would be a great choice. I’ve never run that type of tire so I have no experience. I’ve also just stuck to a dirt tire for my dual sports. Please let me know how the Scorpion holds up and the sand characteristics.
      I’ve been up to St. George a handful of times and have ridden that AZ strip area. Awesome riding you have at your fingertips!
      I agree the bike needed taller gearing than the stock 49 for rock crawling. The 51 is a good option. It reduces the comfortable cruising speed from 75 to around 65 but dramatically improves the trail riding. Putting a 50T on was trying to split the middle. I haven’t done any highway with the 50 yet so can’t comment on cruising speed but on the single track it was still much better than the 49.
      Thanks for taking the time to reach out!

    Hello, I'm watching your videos from France, it's true that all this waste spoils the landscape but what to do ?
    We live in a time where there is less and less respect. Concerning the sound of your video, I find it quite correct.
    The delivery of my future Kove is delayed following the floods that took place in China recently, and I'm getting impatient !!!
    So in the meantime, I'm watching your videos and those of your friends who own Kove. Good ride...

      Check out some of my other content. I have a ton on the Kove. Overall the Kove is the bike I’ve been on a mission to find for over 15 years. The perfect light adv bike. I’m a dirt biker and the Kove spans the gap between enduro and light adv better than anything on the market. There’s been a few issues but nothing deal breaker.

    That exhaust hanging off the side would probably last me a max of 6 rides before I break the mounting points off the frame.. Like I did to my T7 😂
    Its awfully exposed for a dual sport.

      @@DirtByk yes it does, the tyre's usually does well but during long highway runs and scenario's such as ( Immediately pulling on brakes because something came all of the sudden on the road) I won't trust these tyre's to do all the work but these do well if your just doing little stretches of highway to reach your trails the dirt performance man you would love me for recommending it to you just that one down side that's all..... Man it's your call but these are good tyre's plus they come with 6 years of warranty and these wear also very less so good for the pocket 👍......
      P. S
      The roads these tyre's usually face are rural indian roads since im out for adventure 🎒🎒

    the lugs on your tyre are simply too big for tarmac, soft tyres are over rated if you ask me - i use metzeler mc360 mid hard as they last on road and will not get you stuck anywhere so long as you can ride a bike, i live in England and ride in wet deep stuff all the time either here or Wales, lots of rock and tarmac too and really enjoy the tyres - get 2-3k miles out of them easy

    • @DirtByk
      @DirtByk  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nice! The m5b evo is a soft terrain tire so that means the compound is hard (so knobs don’t flex in sand/mud) but yes they are large lugs for the road. I’ve typically always run straight dirt tires on my dual sport bikes. However the kove is a bit heavier.
