Dope vid. I noticed you never connected your reverse lights when u jumped the neutral safety wires. Reverse is wire 2 & 3 (blue and red wires) on that same plug u did the reverse. Just connect that to your CD009 trans reverse plug.

Hey you unplugged a couple moduels from where the couch pedal is, did you ever reconnect them? Are they important?
I noticed you didn’t beat the transmission tunnel ? For clearance
I was able to fit it in without on this one. Using the factory bell housing helps a lot. On some cars I have had to hit near where the starter sits on the trans tunnel mostly when installing the trans for clearance not the final resting spot

What clutch Master slave did you use that one was nice and small that you installed
Im going to be ordering this kit and was wondering what your thoughts on the shifter are? im looking the swap kit shifter or the serial 9 unit.
I prefer the serial nine one, its a little more solid without the 3 piece design. everything else in the collins kit is perfect, check the description for a discount code
Any major wiring you have to do? Everything seems pretty straight forward.

Driveshaft measurements for the a340 kit ?
Did you get a working gauge cluster as well? Outside of the cost of the car and the cd009, about what was the ballpark spent (not assuming labor). I've been researching either a cd009 or a good ol r154, but all the parts for an r154 swap really add up. Really sick is300, the nitrous boost got my attention for sure. Keep up the good work.
The Speedo will work on a factory auto car as it gets it speed from the wheel speed sensors, the manual cars I’ve heard get it from the manual trans. The Collins kit is gonna run you about $2300ish with my discount and assuming you order clutch and driveshaft and shifter from them. I had a 1j vvti before with a r154 and I prefer the gearing of the cd009 more atleast for drifting. Thanks for watching, The GTE swap will be coming soon

No when you buy the kit it comes with a custom driveshaft

It’s definitely a tighter fit, then a Toyota trans would be and sits lower. But I love the gearing much better then a r154

You can look into am AR5 swap too of u can't find W58/R154. I just did an AR5 swap yesterday, but never had time to do a Blog like this to show.

I know you’re boosted now but what was the gear ratio you used for the diff and how did it handle .. I have a tripod w58 and the gears are too long for stock power for my liking
I had an auto 3.9 but gears are short with Cd009. You can try an FRS diff it’s 4.1
@@KBNZUS for stock power the 3.9 should be more ideal right? And also no hammering of the tunnel ?
How’s this kit been holding up? cause I’ve heard quality wise it’s inconsistent
4 years going strong, no problems with the kit itself. Just installed another one on my sc400. Video should be out soon

Used the Collins flywheel
What diff you running? Is it the 3.9 or whatever that's in the autos? I ran a cd009 in my sc300 with a sc430 3.26 diff but thought it may be too steep for this and not a lot of swap options still for diffs.
Yea I run a 3.9, recently found that the is250 looks to be a direct swap in and is a 3.7
@@KBNZUS is the 3.9 hard to drive or is it bearable? I loved the 3.26, it was welded.
For drifting not so much, but I think I’m gonna try the 3.7 to see if it’s any better

Hey man I was wondering did u have an excessive noise from the transmission? I've been told that u will for sure hear some stuff going to the single mass flywheel but I've seen some guys have really bad noise when in gear or the clutch pushed in or out.
You will hear some Gear lash in the transmission caused by the lightweight single mass flywheel. For me I only hear it when the idle is low or when the clutch is not pressed in.

Quick question, would you happen to know what type of clutch the Collin’s kit takes? I purchased one without a clutch because I had a south bend clutch from a buddy who used to have a 350z. I messaged Bette and he said he wasn’t certain it would work and pointed me toward buying a clutch off of his website... I have an 02 auto is300 that I’m swapping a JK4X transmission into.

I just purchased my kit and the Clutch that Brett provides is from a Local company from Florida. Tampa clutch supply Inc.
Also i believe you can use any 350Z clutch kit with the A340 kit.

Hey man what's going on? So I'm ready to buy a kit and as much hate as collin has been getting from the community I feel better buying this kit because he has done quite a few videos installing it in the is300 and it seems to have no issues. You too seem to have no had issues either. My question to you is what clutch are u using? That doesnt look like the one collins provides, and 2 how bad is the transmission hang? Dp you have to be extremely cautious driving around?

Great video. Since u didn't modify the tunnel after driving it are u having any clearance issues? Noises?
Slight noises nothing crazy, but it is a drift car so I’m not concerned of it being a daily
I was the first guy to post an attempt and pics. Mines was a manual, I believe the auto has more tunnel. I now have a ar5 and even then had to massage the tunnel a little to get a 0 degree driveshaft fit.

Yea it was, the factory is300 Manual pedals, thought about making it more detailed but liked how it was and would have been too long explaining everything. Feel free to ask me any questions tho

I noticed you cut the cooler lines etc. Did you end up using a different system, or did you run new lines, or does this trans not need a cooler?
How did you get the reverse lights and speedo to work?
Sorry if I'm turning your comment section into a forum lol. There's not much info out there for my swap, and most of it is very limited.
Tawi Dave the auto is300 uses the wheel speed sensors for speed signal unlike the manual using the transmission. So that all worked. The manual trans does not need a cooler. Being a drift car I did not wire in reverse lights but it would not be hard to wire the cd009 reverse switch to the oem plug
