this leaves me to recall my whole breaking experience. I started alone, learned alone and practised alone for a long time. since I got no mentor or teacher(even no friends to do together around hahaha) in my early break years for almost 6~7 years was just nearly blank. of course, i pick up one or two but I can surely say not much of improvement like i can have now. therefore I had a looooooooong time of struggle just to figure out what is what it is. after those 6~7 years I got into the scene and get along with all the other ppl, jams, sessions and workshop, I finally got small chances to "LEARN" .... 12 years of journey now eventually I found my way to self-taught and development but wonder what happened to my breaking If i had a mentor from those days.
Shout to dojo for being a mentor and a guide to ppl all around the world.

Most people have mentors without knowing. It is absolutely important that you open up people to the idea and for the awareness that nobody built anything by himself alone.
    Good job! Storm

This is exactly why I never became a B-Boy 🥺. There was simply no one in the area that did it, nor was the internet a huge thing yet.
    Limited on exposure.
I played sports; football, and baseball.
Always had a passion for physical activities that require skill and talent.

Three years ago, I moved to an area with no hip hop, and the closest bboy scene is an hour and a half away. I've been stuck practicing by myself all that time, though I'll drive to workshops whenever I get the chance.

Nice to hear you pay homage to your mentors/coaches.
And sometimes I don't think it have to be an elder ore someone with more expirience. I'm doing this since the early 80tees and still learning from every generation till now. Breaking is so different than when I started so i still get inspired now and than by way younger breakers than me. Nice topic. Gone check out some more of your video's. You got props over here. Bin one time in Finland to judge but that whas a whyle ago.

@@BBoyBGirlDojoOfficial I think your correct must be around that time. Also join one time the Cypher of you guys at IBE. Made It to the last 8 and than run out of stamina. Think I whas than already 45 ore 46 years young. Really liked the concept of that battle with holding up the flags. Whas a lot of fun that battle. At that the time Timo bring me to Finland with the Rocking spot. Than one of your crew got second place and I decided one of the guys should be titled best bboy of the day. Mabey it whas you?

I'm about to move and there aren't any bboy classes in the area. 😢 I can take hip hip and contemporary classes though.

Take hip hop and contemporary then. It helps to do other dances and apply that to breaking
