- Took my Ford E350 4x4 Van Winter camping up in the cascade mountains during a winter storm alert. Up to 20 inches of snow was forecasted. Winter Camping during a winter storm alert should not be taken lightly make sure to be over prepared incase you get more snow than you planned and have to spend more days winter snow camping than you planned. Winter Van Life can be a lot of fun and it's great to have a well equipped van to be able to get out of the deep snow with.

I love it how he just goes...the videos are not about fancy gear and new expensive vehicles, but rather the experience. Very nice!
Your choice of music and slow motion shots are sublime. A nice reminder to slow down and enjoy life. Life’s too short to work yourself to death in a high-stress 9-to-5 job only to try and adventure into the unknown once your body is worn out and your soul is weary. Thanks for the glimpse into your journey through the world.

Glad to see you and Daisy again. I have to admit that I choked up a little when you were using the chainsaw and I spied Daisy sitting by herself looking a little lost. Wheeler would want you both back out in the woods doing what you love!
I had a dog named Daisy, she was an am-staff, I do miss her she was such a good friend. in late 2010 we road tripped across the entire US for one year in my Subaru Impreza hatchback. We went everywhere, along both east and west coast, throughout the Midwest, Rocky mountains, the desert, you name it. When the trip came to it's end she was at her's as well. She went downhill fast I couldn't watch her suffer anymore, I put her down New year's Eve 2011, she was 14 years old. 2012 began with tears in my eyes.
A man, his loyal companion, and the open world. Just the little things that mean the most.
My heart goes it to you, Jason. It's so hard to lose a beloved dog. And it takes time to grieve. I miss Wheeler in your videos. I can only imagine the big hole in your life right now. I'm glad you are doing the things that you love. And sharing with us.

@@PrimalOutdoors when I lost my old boy, my young boy (Crispy) worried the hell out of me. They were so close, Crispy was so devastated that it had felt like I lost him too for a little while. He wasn't himself, he barely ate or drank. He just laid in their sun spot and didn't play.
I hope Daisy is doing well, please give her some loving for me. You two will work this out together, because that how dogs and their humans are 💜

I was looking for your latest video this morning and saw it been three weeks and was concerned. When I saw the box on the dashboard of this video I knew what happened, I have two of those boxes. I’m so, so very sorry about Wheeler. He seemed like such a wonderful boy. He was so lucky to have such a great dad and I respect the fact that you didn’t mention it on the video. so sorry to hear about Wheeler, he had a good life, and was obviously good company, like an old friend. been there a few times myself. we let ourselves get so attached to God's gift for us.
Wheeler is not my first go around but never get easier, their lives are too short.

This video completely choked me up. I’m so very sorry for you loss but I totally get it. Your’s is on your dashboard, mine recently retired also, who’s now wrapped up in his favourite blanket next to me in my bed each night. Crazy yes. Hard times yes. Do I get it? Absolutely!!! On the brighter side of life, Daisy is still with you now, so embrace your time together. You both need each other. Last but not least, get yourself a pair of -50c or -60c waterproof “Muck” arctic ice grip boots. No more wet jeans, tying up boots, cold feet, wet feet or snow to deal with. Just really warm, dry, cozy feet, slip on, slip off boots. I’ll post a link. Best investment you could ever make. Stay strong stranger and thank you for sharing your life with us.

Wheeler was such a great boy. He was lucky to have chosen you and Daisy as his family. We can never keep them long enough.

@@PrimalOutdoors when my dog passed I just couldn't bear it and we rescued a pup 6 days later. I know you may not be ready bit you will make it through and your next dog will be the beginning of a whole new chapter. Now I look back and think of her and I don't experience any sadness, just fond memories

We love winter camping. No mosquitoes. Don’t have to worry about ice running out. If you’re too hot peel a layer off. Best of all no one else around.
For the wood, have you considered a basket that uses the receiver on the back? It would beat using the roof to haul it.

Subscribed! Looks like I was brought here because of my love for the outdoors... and animals. Scrolling through the comments, I noticed you recently lost a family member, my deepest condolences my good sir. I look forward to watching your older videos so that I may catch a glimpse into the love and fun you share with your pups. As much as it may hurt, its only love trapped inside you for your lost one.
We used to go to our camp for the weekends during the winter. Loved it. Snow machine, ice skating and sledding.
We fospice senior dogs so I know it's hard. We've taken a break because the last one just tore me apart. Wheeler was lucky to have you. People always say their in a better place but I argue it's better when they are by your side. Safe travels to you & Daisy.
People love seeing the dogs, but your right senior dogs come with extra challenges especially living in a van, pretty much every decision I make involves how will it effect the dogs. I would do anything to have Wheeler back, but its been a bit of a reprieve only having Daisy to think about, I am sure you can understand.

Dude this is amazing. It could be dangerous for some in a very remote and nasty weather. However, here you are making it work. Just amazing. You get the saw and chop some wood and make a campfire under atrocious conditions. But you are making it work. As for the views wow, wow, wow. It is magical. The snow, the forest and the mountain. It is out of this world frankly speaking. If i am stuck in the mountains and in snow. I am NOT going to complain but make it work like you did. Incredible views and living the life. I envy you and the dog. Wishing both of you the very best.
First time watching and read comments about you loosing Wheeler. As a dog “dad” i have felt that pain a few times and it never gets any easier. I see Daisy loving her outing with you and despite having never met you or knowing anything about you I instinctively know you are a good person. @@PrimalOutdoors Just found your channel and love your girl Daisy. We have a 14 yo Golden Retriever girl, Honey. Last week she had trouble getting up off her rug in our lounge room. I thought it was the end but she rallied and is getting about again. It wasn't the end but it foretold of a close problem. Making the most of her company though and have to take her out using a flashlight for a latrine stop before going to bed at night because her night vision isn't good and we have retaining walls etc. Best wishes and stay safe from Australia.

My lab Lacie,passed a year ago.i still feel the pain.her ashes will go with mine when I go.i have had lots of dogs over the years,but she stole my heart and soul.it will be awhile before i get another.at least you still have Daisy.and she has you.be careful out there.seems van life suits you better then the truck.
