    What does it mean "Whatever moisture that is left on the coil, will automatically be reintruduced?" How do we keep it cold but not allow too much moisture? Want to avoid mold

    • @paulm850
      @paulm850  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A normal air conditioner after it is satisfied, turns off the outdoor unit and the indoor unit. This allows the water that is condensed on the indoor evaporator coil to drain and leave the house. If the fan is left in high mode and not in Auto, the fan will never turn off after temperature satisfaction and will blow across your evaporator coil, evaporating all of the moisture back into your home causing high humidity and an environment conducive of foreign substance growth.

      Speculation based on mine, but if it stops with two dashes on the display it might be multiple splits going to the same outdoor unit on different modes. The same outdoor condenser can't do heat/cold at the same time. Or if they are on Auto Mode sometimes it decides one split is enough and puts the others to sleep, so yeah don't use Auto.

    Why is fan mode not recommended? I have used it some for air flow ...

    • @paulm850
      @paulm850  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I do not recommend the fan being left in the "ON" mode during cooling mode for humidity reasons. If left in the "Auto" mode, the fan will ramp down allowing the water that is on the coil to drain. Otherwise if the fan is always on, this will keep the water from draining as quickly and evaporate back into the room. This is a recommended Florida "rule" since humidity is always high. This may differ depending on your location and climate.

      Self Clean Mode
      Press “Self Clean” to activate or deactivate the self−cleaning
      function. Under this function, the air conditioner automatically
      cleans and dries the evaporator. The cleaning cycle takes 30
      minutes, after which the unit turns off automatically. Pressing SLC
      on the middle of the cycle cancels the operation and turn off the
      unit. This function can be activated only on COOL or DRY
      mode.

      Sounds like the coil and/or the drain pan is dirty and possibly overflowing. Take a shop vac in wet mode and suck the condensation drain where it exits outside to help free up the clog. There is a possibility of improper installation if the indoor high wall bracket was to level and causing the drain to back up.
