    I've got a 2012 R51 Pathdinder
    140kw 2.5 YD25 Manual 6 speed.
    40mm lift, Bullbar, winch, rock sliders, 265/70/17 tyres etc etc
    I have installed a Mann Provent catch can/oil separator and EGR blank.
    Has snorkel with KN filter and Pre filter fitted
    I Run Water Wetter in the radiator and 5W-40 oil with a splash of Lucas Stabilizer.
    Just did 20,000km around outback Australia towing a 2 Tonne Caravan.
    Diesel consumption average 14.9 litres/100km
    No CELs.
    No nailing on start up.
    No black smoke.
    No engine issues at all.
    I'll be doing this on any future YD 2.5s I own

    @bluenaite ปีที่แล้ว +3

    A belt or strap to remove the oil filter would probably work so much better than the awkward filter tools you can buy.
    I have a similar issue with my 2010 D40 YD25 239000km. It was an auction buy so was expecting problems. I haven't checked the hoses but I think I'll go ahead and replace all hoses with their silicone equivalent for peace of mind.

    On the EGR blank I would advice you to get a stainless steel plate I used the same material plate that you have used and it got chowed away and eventually I went for stainless steel and It was sorted

    By fixing those vacuum lines you just got all your boost back. Didn't need to gut the cat. But now you have it doesn't matter lol. Enjoy

    • @Seegsoutdoor
      @Seegsoutdoor  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      👍👍. But first thing I do with any of my vehicles is gut the cat and usually drop in a less restrictive muffler. Engine dynamics wants air to move with as little restriction as possible. Cat is unnecessary restriction

    Hi did u only blank egr on the one side coz I blocked mine only on the one side and now my turbo stopped working

    • @Seegsoutdoor
      @Seegsoutdoor  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Blanking the egr should not stop the turbo operating. You need to go check that all the vaccum pipes under the plastic engine cover are plugged in. Possibly one came loose after working on the egr blank off. Failing that check the solenoid the works the turbo actuator make sure it’s engaging the actuator

    • @Seegsoutdoor
      @Seegsoutdoor  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Scott. I’ve been in the muffler industry for over 20years. And I know removing that cat from the back of the turbo can be a real b#*ch. that’s why I generally opt to do it from the bottom of the access allows. Unless I’m doing a downpipe conversion on this model no reason to remove the cat. Tips. Spray penetration oil the day before on the three flange studs. Other than that is pretty straight forward as in the video There is more turbo whistle but not exhaust sound. Next month we will be cutting the muffler out and fitting a smaller free flow unit. Will do a video on that and hopefully get a little more sound out of the lady

    • @Seegsoutdoor
      @Seegsoutdoor  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there Jex. It doesn’t really change the sound much. You might hear the turbo a little more. But the main muffler is huge. That’s were most the sound is muffled. If you wanting more sound have the main muffler cut out and install a smaller free flow muffler.

    Guys please rply i have a d40 2007 model 2.5 i want to know if your EGR is block is it good or bad?more power lighter on feul or what?and the DPF /cat to remove that is that also bad thing or good thing give it more power the moment you excellerate?

    • @Seegsoutdoor
      @Seegsoutdoor  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      We have blanked of the egr. Haven’t noticed a power difference but what it does do is stop all the carbon from exhaust mixing with blow by oil and that starts grimes up in the intake manifold. At the current milage when I have a chance would like to remove the intake manifold and give it a good clean. That usually does make a power difference. The cat I always remove from my vehicles does make it a bit more responsive fuel I can’t really answer because I’ve increased the tyre diameter and fitted a lift kit both those mods affect consumption currently i get around 9.3km/l probably would get more if I was a little light footed . But if you feel you lacking power start with all the vaccum pipes they are very often the culprits affecting the actuator for the turbo

    Did the engine run hotter after the Egr block plate

    • @Seegsoutdoor
      @Seegsoutdoor  ปีที่แล้ว

      No not at all. In theory if you are blocking the hot gas being recirculated then it should in theory run cooler

    • @plameng7558
      @plameng7558 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Seegsoutdoor in theory it would indeed run hotter, because there will be more oxygen and compressing the oxygen will generate a lot of heat. But it should still be fine, since as you said EGR is because of emissions regulations and not actually to protect the engine from overheating.

    Guys do not do that, the engin will blow up soon. Nissan engineers are not stupid

    • @Seegsoutdoor
      @Seegsoutdoor  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Nissan engineers didn’t make this because they clever. They made it to adhere to emission regulations forced on by government. You have no idea what you are speaking about. We have been doing this to our vehicles for years without blowing up engines. In fact more chance of long term damage with an egr than without

      07 and yes a sensor

    • @Seegsoutdoor
      @Seegsoutdoor  ปีที่แล้ว

      If it had a sensor behind the cat the computer is picking up an issue and putting the vehicle into limp mode. I’m not sure your side but here by us there are guys that can program the computer to overlook that sensor that should solve the issue

    • @eddieellul4350
      @eddieellul4350 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a scan tool and it is showing a R2002 code over accumulation in the dpf but that was already there before I cleaned out the cat converter, I was getting about 4500rpm before I cleaned out the cat converter but now it’s gone down to 2000rpm. The sensors are just before and after the dpf. There is hardly any pressure coming out of the tail pipe so maybe the problem is the dpf. Do they override the sensors with a scan tool or something else. What do you think.
