Good thing you guys are experienced an don’t listen to a lot of these comments. People it’s 6 foot plus fish that people buy as 6inch babies that they can’t take care off. What choice do they have but figure out a way for them to play nice. To me it’s looks like they “Ohio fish rescue “ figured it out. Great work men!
Great video again Josh. Thank you for doing an up date on the arapaimas. So happy they are co existing in the pool pond, Bruiser definitely knows who is tank boss, sad he got bit, but from today it looks like they will do good. You can definitely notice who doesn’t watch daily by the questions & comments in the comment section 🤨😞😉 so many questions about fish you literally just did a video about 🙃 Can’t wait to see the tanks getting moved! Super exciting! Stay Fishy from Oregon 💕
Brutus /Bruiser is a tense situation. Thriller. Cross fingers it works! Can you feed Bruiser some more and Brutus less? So size difference would get smaller.
It sounds quite natural that some fish can need to be, more or less, submissive towards more dominant fish. And at least it weren't as if Brutus didn't allow Bruiser to move much at all, because at one point it looked like Bruiser swam straight over Brutus. Fingers crossed.
Good Morning 💙💚 Oh my, not gonna lie, tough to watch! Sweet smaller Bruiser, such a scared love. Thank you for keeping a close eye on them!!! So very worried for them guys! Please get Bruiser away from Brutice? The Lil guy had one good swim acrossthe pond before the bite. Now,Bruiser is right in the line of fire.if he jumped a net to get to a fish,He has plans.Bruiser isn't playing dead for no reason.BEST Wishes for this great plan to have a positive outcome!
If I had to bet, I'd bet Brutus is actually a large female and I'd also say Bruiser is a male. I know we can only tell with some serious testing but if I had to put money down that's what I'd bet. 😏 Good job bros , even with as much water as the Ofr has these situations have to be sorted out because they would run out of room trying to accommodate each and every Pima 👍
They were doing good at the beginning when you first put them in but it's when bruiser it's like he got a happy spurt and he started really going kind of like a teenager would in the water and that's when Brutus went after him it's like he kind of put the teenager in its place you'll have to go back and take a look at it Josh
He bruiser should only have one split on the very back end of his tail cuz I seen one Brutus went after him yeah there's only one split on his tail so if there's any more than that he's been getting beat up but I don't see nothing new with them yeah I think when you guys put that net in between them helped a lot they actually got to see each other and got the meet each other for a long time to wear bruiser could be himself and Brutus can be his self it's weird that's what they got to do with certain animals if you just try to put them in with their own kind they'll kill them but they would put them in a cage next to each other and they got used to each other so they could be brought into the enclosure it was it's weird how animals are
Seems in the pool tank, the Ciclids aren't being chased or eaten by the larger fish. In fact they seem to coexist nicely. Why do you think that is? Are the smaller fish too fast?
I think some do get snapped up by the larger fish. I think the cichlids breed faster than the big guys can eat them. That’s provided the big guys even want to munch down on some of them. The only way to know for sure is have an underwater cam, catching that happen.
how do you know if the arapaima are male or female ? what do you think will happen if you have a pair and they mate ? you wake up one morning and every fish in the pond are all in one corner and the arapaima are keeping it that way lolololol like a couple convicts breeding in a 55
Thinking the same thing, +there would be a bunch of Alligator gars, RTCs , Sturgeons and other cats they are gonna need a bigger pool . That's probably in a 3-4 years .
Brutus went after Bruiser only when Bruiser started fast-cruising the pool-pond and he needed to be slapped down to establish his place as a submissive. That said, it can't be a lot of fun for the much smaller animal to adjust to a new (permanent) lowly status after having his own space before. Such is life in the world of animal hierarchy.
Maybe there's a male/female thing going on? Can you tell the sex of the fish visually? Bruiser looks too small to be breeding, but maybe there's a vibe going on?

Maybe if you remove the net he'll continue to hunt the bruiser... Idk um just saying.
I think if the smaller prima was closer to brutis size he would get messed up. It’s obvious brutis is alpha. Can you tell sex without a DNA test?
