- Hey everyone! In this video, I'm sharing my recent trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and why it didn't quite live up to my expectations. From the famous Petronas Towers to bustling street markets, Kuala Lumpur is known for its vibrant culture and modern skyline. But as I explored the city, I found it somewhat lackluster and not as exciting as I'd hoped.
I dive into what didn't click for me - from the crowded areas to the challenging navigation. Plus, I talk about my experiences with local food and tourist attractions, and why they didn't quite hit the mark.
Join me as I take you through my journey, share my honest thoughts, and discuss what I wish I'd known before visiting Kuala Lumpur. Let me know if you've been there and had a different experience, or if you have any tips for making the most of this city. Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more travel content
I spent almost 3 months in Asia last year , travel to 5 different countries and found out Malaysia was the most friendlier place in the region, people were so friendly and helpful… that’s from my experience
For me they were typical, but glad they were nice for u!
@@jrp3333if I may, try to get to know the psychology of the people more to understand what pisses them off and why. No one treats others badly "for no reason at all". Perhaps you were disrespecting without knowing/intending. Of course racist people exist everywhere and perhaps you got the brunt of it. But I would advise being a bit more inquisitive, conversational, and accepting of foreign customs to know better why some people may seem rude to you. Please do elaborate so I can know what exactly you experienced as I would definitely not want to experience such treatment. Thanks and happy travels!
I feel like KL is perfect vacation for families
Not so great for solo travel UNLESS you make the effort with people and get to know them on a deeper level
Not good for u but good for others.
Yep. We have 29m visitors. Less one is ok

SCARYYYYY Byeeee 👋
My experience is different than yours. My wife of 51 years is Chinese Malaysian who is from KL. We have been back to KL many times for a month or more at a time and we were never treated badly by anyone. We thoroughly enjoy the Chinese food - and don't have any problems with it. Even when I went exploring on my own while my wife was in our rented condo - I never had a problem either.
It all boils down to the currency exchange rate that you find it affordable.
Cause you're a family man. Not a solo one
Tq for your sincere review. We accept all the bad n good comments. I'm Malaysian n I love my country as it is. Tqvm
Thank you for your review. There are always So many positive reviews it's kinda refreshing to see a different pov.
You can continue with your style, no issue. But we still hv 29m visitors for 2023.
I agree with one of the comments above about internet. Stay at home. Dont travel. People travel to educate themselves and find good in other cultures. I studied and worked in KL for more than 20 years. Came home very later sometimes. And it s safe.
Btw, if you looking for perfectness, just stay at home lah.
We”all dont mind . Datang tak di undang pergi tak di halang , Ada tak bertambah pergi pun tak berkurang.

Wow peribahasa hebat. Mantap.

TQ for your visit..different people may have different idea.
KL is more on family traveling. I agree with you that KL is just an average city with skyscrapers only. You will get bored easily after few days of exploring KL because it is kinda small compare to BKK and other major cities. You need to spend lots of time exploring outside KL which you will feel fun and excited. Like Genting Highland, Cameron Highland, Ipoh, Penang, Malacca and Kuantan. Those cities have more UNESCO HERITAGE history and less hectic compare to KL.
I'd like to check out those places too. I'm not gonna write off Malaysia as a whole, just KL and Johore bahru I also didn't like much
because you only visiting the sckyscrappers only, hence thats all what you got... try to visit the city's parks, gardens, forest reserves, art galleries, museums, memorials, palaces and monuments that can be found abundantly in the city.. also, there is a free cultural show available in the city's tourism center on every Tuesday and Wednesday. Stupid tourist like JR Pssport obviously clueless about all these.. as you can see in all his videos, he just wandering around without any direction and place to go like a lost person....
No perfect cities in the world.... but we are very proud to served you as our guest.... up's to you to give us low ratings.... doesn't make us sad.... million of tourists flooding our country....and more to come.... thanks bro for promoting our country...
If a person wants a country that he visits and needs to satisfy and fulfill all his wishes.
Better you do a mental examination and just sit at home
depend, its up to you...if you have bee eyes,u can see honey and flowers, if you hv fly eyes, every part in the world you can only see rubbish and shit
I love most places I've been
We are grateful for all the foreigners that decide not to come here after hearing your review.....we are grateful for the ones that enjoy their stay but a little less visitors may actually help us not become over exposed...so lousy reviews like this may help....have a good forward journey....we assume we wont be seeing you again...ciao 👋
Thx for watching
You said the wifi is bad? Are you using free wifi or do you have a sim card and are using data? If you're using a provider, which one are you using?
Free wifi and sim card were both bad. I don't remember which carrier I used
29.6 million tourist 2023....
Malaysia is special. There are many foreign workers, approximately 3 million people in KL alone. So if you meet unfriendly people, then maybe they are foreigners. Malaysians are very friendly.
malaysians are veryu friendly and suck up to the white race as they themelsves are very racist . they are very discriminative and judgemental abt non whites from asia , india, africa etc. they malaysians to a lesser degree than thailand love status and wealth
I dont know you and your content, so I dont want to get personal. But I really dont like the title of this video. It seems to say that KL is a bad city, and that the people there are lying and not friendly. And if your main priority is WIFI and internet connection, you should probably stay at home (thats just my opinion of course).
KL isnt my favorite city in the world either, but I really like it for food, and for diversity. The mix of malay, chinese, indian and western culture is wonderful in my opinion, and as a woman solo traveller, I always like it there, and always feel safe there. I am sorry to hear that you had several bad experiences with people there. I dont think that this is common though. Hopefully, if you go back to Malaysia, you will have better experiences.
I'd like to go to Penang or another city. KL and JB were definitely not for me
@@jrp3333Welcome to Indonesia
I think he should skip malaysia altogether from this point on....the "bad internet" isnt going to change anytime soon....the "unfriendly women" are locals that will be here next time.....and all the lousy experience will still be here waiting....so give us skip...no need to go to other parts of the country...just move on unless of course giving bad reviews is your business ...then in that case we are prefect !!!
Thank you for your kind words. ❤
Thank you for your honest review. It is what it is, you either like it or you dont. Happy travels.☺️
Thanks 🙏🏿
I been there for a few times throughout the years. I agree with you. Islamic people do not like white people due to geopolitics right now. Wasn't like this many years ago. But now. it's not so friendly. I would avoid it.
The weather is the worst for me. Always hot and wet. Your skin is always sticky. If you're an indoor guy, then I guess you wouldn't care. Yes, it's like this in most south east asian countries, but I feel extra sticky in Malaysia for some reason.
It's true. they suspect we're all Jews. They're very anti semitic in Malaysia & its all been revealed in 2024. There's also been more minor terror related attacks/threats, I don't think it's a safe place to be in the coming years. Bad vibes
Are you invited, ?
What ever, Malaysia not for you, good for our country too
If not good also good for Msia. Not so crowded city would give city revellers some space of breathing😊
Thank you for coming to Malaysia. I'm sad you don't like Kuala Lumpur. I respect your point of view.
well.. glad u’re honest abt it… just curious though abt that dried fish thingy.. could it be anchovies..? because if u order a nasi lemak.. they’ll put anchovies.. peanuts.. slice of boiled egg… cucumber n sambal as the basic set up.. can’t think of other food with dried fish.. unless u eat malay style economy rice.. where dried fish is being sold as dishes.. but it’s up to u to hv it… i personally not a fan of kl… as the places that i used to frequent not there anymore.. so yeah.. if u hv no place to hangout at … what’s the point of going.. n how much food can one eats… u shd hv traveled outside of kl… jungle trekking.. white water rafting.. camping or stuff like that…
It could be? I don't hate it, but it seemed to be in most dishes I ate there even if I didn't expect it. I'd like to check out other cities in Malaysia
@@jrp3333 well.. beats me.. i can’t think of other dishes than nasi lemak… yeah.. u shd check out other places in malaysia… just bear in mind… our beaches are not like those in phuket or pattaya or bali or boracay… we don’t hv lively bars or bar girls.. just beaches.. chalets or hotels.. don’t get disappointed… 😅
@@jrp3333 i just remembered.. if u order pan mee soup.. they do include anchovies in it… 😅.. u still fish those thing out of ur bowl.. although the saltiness frm the anchovies still lingers… 😅
agreed with u... thailand has a lot more things to do. natural beauty much better in thailand or indonesia. Here in KL all concerete jungle.
Guys just respect je lar ..this is his opinion alone dont take it personally. Ramai je yg suka negara kita

Taipei is my favorite so far
Is that an iPhone 13 phone being used and if so is it on the video mode or front camera???
The back camera I probably used for everything on iPhone 13 mini
the Indian food, the fruit juices, the location for cheap flights are all good. the misty heat is the biggest problem.
So what, our country not for you, I saw Japanese people, Islam people from other country feel safe and respect our culture. Weather we can't do anything about it, we Malaysian just accept it. Good for us, not many people come to influence our culture. Even I'm Christian religion from east Malaysia

You are unintentionally so funny for putting this out.
You should smile a lot so that you could feel much happier.
Thanks for the video I hate fish that sick putting it on everything
What type of dish is that? Fish on everything😂
nasi lemak le..!

In order to effectively review things, some review scores have to be not as good. Thanks for the video!
Thx for watching
Thats what you review. Thank you.....somehow you are talking in double meaning.....sometimes you said good...but sometimes you mention bad.....which one is right.?
Both
you sound 'grumpy' , 'lonely and sad'
Fish + cake - fishcake. Fish on everything
Aunties always brusque in manners LA
Kuala lumpur not "free" like thailand, cambodia, laos , vietnam, philippine and "bali".
I definitely wouldn't say Philippines is free. The most strict country I've ever been
I agreed on the wifi..we msian also complaint lot..😅 but i dont understand abt the ladies u talking about..not the malay lady than must be other..? Lot of different races here..we have vietnamese..mynmar..they look like chinese too..usually they are friendly unless u ask for sex that is when they are not friendly..😂
I look at your face, I know your personality/body language.
Aik mai mlaysia balik mamat ni....7 bulan lpas kata bndar malaysia tak best dan bosan...tp mai balik sni😂😂😂
Ya, wifi sucks big time!
This has to be one of the worst review by a travel vlogger, making discriminating and damaging remarks without any facts or examples and expect people to believe what you say.
You said “a lot of travel vloggers like to lie” - what proof do you have? If I am a travel vlogger, I would be insulted. Yes, maybe a few or some but a lot? Please do not make a sweeping statement without presenting any proof. Did you also lie?
“All the food here no matter what it is they put dried up fish in it” You are exaggerating - I have stayed in Kuala Lumpur for over 30 years and NOT ONCE was dried up fish in it.
- “I felt like I’ve been discriminated against”
- “I’m being treated in an unfair way by the women of this group, it’s non-Malay women”
- “ I’ve being treated very rudely for no reason several times, just with a really bad attitude”
The above are 3 very discriminating statements with no supporting facts, no evidence and no examples. You did not even say how they happened, where they happened what were actually said or done to you. You then expect people to believe you?
As a travel vlogger, you have lost your credibility. Please learn from the more established travel vloggers like Ken Abroad or Tread the Globe.
Because big travel vloggers will say anything to please their viewers. I don't have any viewers, I just make these vids for fun and speak from my experience. I have many examples of where a certain race (not Malay) was very rude to me for no reason. You're right I should have included examples in the video. I've never experienced such rudeness in any country ever out of the 10+ countries I've been to. It doesn't matter whether people believe it or not. Not trying to convince anyone not to come here. Just sharing my experience 😁 thanks for the comment
You are annoyed because he is telling the truth. I am a Malaysian and that specific group are known to be arrogant and rude. Why do you think the riots occured 56 years ago?
Why would he lie about such a thing?
The dried fish thing only when you eat nasi lemak but all dishes, something not right here😅

between characters, if you come to the country, show your friendly face. You who come to people's country should be the one to start saying hi and then you want to wait for people to rebuke you.
