  • Hey everyone! In this video, I'm sharing my recent trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and why it didn't quite live up to my expectations. From the famous Petronas Towers to bustling street markets, Kuala Lumpur is known for its vibrant culture and modern skyline. But as I explored the city, I found it somewhat lackluster and not as exciting as I'd hoped.
I dive into what didn't click for me - from the crowded areas to the challenging navigation. Plus, I talk about my experiences with local food and tourist attractions, and why they didn't quite hit the mark.
Join me as I take you through my journey, share my honest thoughts, and discuss what I wish I'd known before visiting Kuala Lumpur. Let me know if you've been there and had a different experience, or if you have any tips for making the most of this city. Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more travel content

@@jrp3333if I may, try to get to know the psychology of the people more to understand what pisses them off and why. No one treats others badly "for no reason at all". Perhaps you were disrespecting without knowing/intending. Of course racist people exist everywhere and perhaps you got the brunt of it. But I would advise being a bit more inquisitive, conversational, and accepting of foreign customs to know better why some people may seem rude to you. Please do elaborate so I can know what exactly you experienced as I would definitely not want to experience such treatment. Thanks and happy travels!

My experience is different than yours. My wife of 51 years is Chinese Malaysian who is from KL. We have been back to KL many times for a month or more at a time and we were never treated badly by anyone. We thoroughly enjoy the Chinese food - and don't have any problems with it. Even when I went exploring on my own while my wife was in our rented condo - I never had a problem either.

I agree with one of the comments above about internet. Stay at home. Dont travel. People travel to educate themselves and find good in other cultures. I studied and worked in KL for more than 20 years. Came home very later sometimes. And it s safe.
Btw, if you looking for perfectness, just stay at home lah.

KL is more on family traveling. I agree with you that KL is just an average city with skyscrapers only. You will get bored easily after few days of exploring KL because it is kinda small compare to BKK and other major cities. You need to spend lots of time exploring outside KL which you will feel fun and excited. Like Genting Highland, Cameron Highland, Ipoh, Penang, Malacca and Kuantan. Those cities have more UNESCO HERITAGE history and less hectic compare to KL.

I dont know you and your content, so I dont want to get personal. But I really dont like the title of this video. It seems to say that KL is a bad city, and that the people there are lying and not friendly. And if your main priority is WIFI and internet connection, you should probably stay at home (thats just my opinion of course).
KL isnt my favorite city in the world either, but I really like it for food, and for diversity. The mix of malay, chinese, indian and western culture is wonderful in my opinion, and as a woman solo traveller, I always like it there, and always feel safe there. I am sorry to hear that you had several bad experiences with people there. I dont think that this is common though. Hopefully, if you go back to Malaysia, you will have better experiences.

The weather is the worst for me. Always hot and wet. Your skin is always sticky. If you're an indoor guy, then I guess you wouldn't care. Yes, it's like this in most south east asian countries, but I feel extra sticky in Malaysia for some reason.

This has to be one of the worst review by a travel vlogger, making discriminating and damaging remarks without any facts or examples and expect people to believe what you say.
You said “a lot of travel vloggers like to lie” - what proof do you have? If I am a travel vlogger, I would be insulted. Yes, maybe a few or some but a lot? Please do not make a sweeping statement without presenting any proof. Did you also lie?
“All the food here no matter what it is they put dried up fish in it” You are exaggerating - I have stayed in Kuala Lumpur for over 30 years and NOT ONCE was dried up fish in it.
    - “I felt like I’ve been discriminated against”
    - “I’m being treated in an unfair way by the women of this group, it’s non-Malay women”
    - “ I’ve being treated very rudely for no reason several times, just with a really bad attitude”
The above are 3 very discriminating statements with no supporting facts, no evidence and no examples. You did not even say how they happened, where they happened what were actually said or done to you. You then expect people to believe you?
As a travel vlogger, you have lost your credibility. Please learn from the more established travel vloggers like Ken Abroad or Tread the Globe.

I have many examples of where a certain race (not Malay) was very rude to me for no reason. You're right I should have included examples in the video. I've never experienced such rudeness in any country ever out of the 10+ countries I've been to. It doesn't matter whether people believe it or not. Not trying to convince anyone not to come here.
