Uh, you have the brush hog deck, so you won’t end up with a finished cut. You need the finish deck. Why did you think a brush deck would leave a finished look? I run a Ferris mower every day, and if I did a 360 in a lawn it would tear it up nearly as bad as that. I make 3 point turns all day. If I don’t, I tear up lawns. I’ve seen other videos about this mower with a finish deck on it and it seems quite good. But you do have to make 3 point turns to avoid tearing up the lawn. That’s just the nature of the beast. Take it back and tell them to replace the brush deck with a finish deck, that’ll change your cut completely.
@@TroyKearnsPodcast I would also have to say with that. You’re busting on a mower on how it cuts your grass when you know it had the wrong deck? Don’t blame the brand. You should’ve started the video by saying it had the wrong deck.
No need to trash talk Altoz. They are a great USA company. I have a TRX 561 finish mower with the same tracks and it does just fine. They also make a mower with less aggressive tracks for your type of flat land. With mine you do have to do 3 pt. turns and like any zero turn, going down hill is dicey depending on the slope and the nature of the turf. Once you get the hang of the 3 pts. it's almost like doing a circle. I've used it for 5 years now and have no complaints at all. I do mow about 8 or 9 acres of the 114 I have here in VT. I use the TRX for most of the acreage beyond the house about once a month. It's a very powerful mower and cuts through the tall stuff easily. I use a 54" GR2120 around the house (about an acre) every week. As others, and you, have noted, you were sold the wrong mower. The big 766 unit with the brush hog deck is just that, a brush hog...
You already know that they do not have a great product. For the price that they charge and what they offer. They are inferior to most things on the market and the fact that you love them that’s fine. The fact that they’re USA that’s fine. It’s a Kawasaki motor, that’s about it. It’s a good company.
@@TroyKearns It was $16K when I bought it. You can thank Joey Buttafucko for the increase. You also apparently can't read. Most of the comments below support the product. It is a machine for a SPECIFIC PURPOSE!!. DUH
This machine stands on a platform of its own, i love it. My all terrian deck leaves a clean cut. they made a side by side comparison and saw no difference . I dont stripe my lawn, but i do put this thing on some steep slopes where i can never put my ferris 72 deck mower on. Wet or dry it goes where you put it. The added weight option for the slopes is a must .
You are not counter rotating on tight turns !!! That's why you're tearing on tight turns, the same thing will happen with tires. I'm a retired mowing contractor that has owed many zero turn mowers.
I was looking at one of these because I my property gets wet and bogy and my Hustler Zero turn gets stuck a lot, I'll be looking for something else now, thanks for the advise!
Great video , an ->Honest video., a brush hog is Not a finish lawnmower and tracks have their intended use… I’ve had an X mark , got rid of it because of terrible dealer service.. then bought an Altoz and after 8 years got rid of it because of terrible manufacturer service (Same complaints dating back to when it was on warranty) so now I’ve moved up tow Scag Cheata 2 , and when I had a problem that mirrored the problem I had with the Altoz I called up the dealer and asked if maybe I was the one that was doing something wrong. The response I got was amazing. I described the problem and right away they said nope it’s sounds like you are doing everything right… when can WE come to you to check it out and if necessary bring it back to the shop. It turned out to be a faulty part from the manufacturer. Unfortunately I ended up in the hospital so I haven’t been able to mow more than a couple of times but so far the cut & service have been outstanding… wish me luck
It’s got the wrong deck and why would anyone think that tracks on a mower is a good idea. It does do pretty good brush hogging but why TF would you want to be right there while cutting said brush
it's what the dealership recommended for cutting my lawn, either way the tracks are terrible, it's an overpriced machine as well, there are too many negatives even if i bought the wrong deck
You need to ask a FARMER what type mower to buy. I have horse stables and mow pastures that look better than your yard. Consider looking a small cab tractor with an 8' - 12' mower. Faster, better, Air Conditioned and Heated (snow blade or blower) depending on where you live. And you can get a Bush Hog for the brushy areas. Good information in your video by the way. Happy mowing!
Give the company a break you have the brush cutting deck on it’s not meant for normal lawn, I’m sure this video stopped quite a few people from buying one
Guys look at his video, look at what he owns. Clearly more money than brains here. Bought a lawn more to do EXACTLY what he says its good at doing. Completely wrong deck, completely wrong tracks ( 3 different types ) and then shits on the company because he didnt do any research lmfao. Typical "I have plenty money looks good for what hes doing I want one too"
Wrong tracks and wrong deck for finished lawn needs. You didnt get the wrong mower, you got the mower configured wrong for what you need. That thing isnt some box store toy.
I have a feeling that you told the salesman that you wanted to be able to cut Brush with your mower. So that’s what he gave you. Not a finishing mower. And then now you’re going to bash a company because you got what you asked for. This is just what it seems like to me.
@TroyKearns Dealerships are not in the business of being you. They're in the business of selling equipment. Gotta be your own advocate in this world, man. It doesn't matter if you're buying coffee, a house, or a multi-million dollar corporation. Nobody is responsible for your spending, but you. I'm not sure what prompted them to sell you this mower... but it probably went something like "I want the best mower you have." and some other comment about how you didn't care about price. Choosing the correct mower has a price factor... but application is CRUCIAL. At the time these were released on the market, they were arguably the single most capable ZTR available in the US. That doesn't mean they were "the best", because there's technically no such thing. When you spend money, it's about "best" FOR YOU... and you're the only person who can determine that.

Yep they sold it to me I didnt know any better
@@TroyKearnsPodcast I’m sorry that happened, man. The salesman should’ve known what you were going to use it for. If he didn’t, he should’ve asked.

"It destroyed my lawn" sounds like old white people's problems. 😂
Don't worry about it. He probably uses toenail clippers on his fingernails and hammers in his wood screws.

The scagg lawn mower is way better

The tracks tear everything up

Thats the deck selection they sugges
Not sure, they dealership recommended it for my lawn, the tracks are as bad as the droppings
You don’t know what you’re talking about, that’s not a finish deck , and any zero turn mower will tear turf if you use pivot turns 🤨
it's what the dealership recommended for cutting my lawn, either way the tracks are terrible, it's an overpriced machine as well, there are too many negatives even if i bought the wrong deck

Thanks man
That's pretty bad. I own a small lawn care company and my cheapest zero turn is like 3,000 and it does way better than that
I have this lawnmower. I love it. Great investment. This guy tripping!
23k vs. a scagg, that is faster, stronger, not a good investment
You should get the same mower but the finish cut deck side discharge
The tracks are terrible, either way, I bought a Scagg, way better
I have to same mower, I love it .
Scagg
My regular ole spartan tears up the ground like that. You got a deck that is like a bush hog so yes it won’t have the prettiest cut
Yes, what the dealer recommended for my lawn...
Lmao, you're mowing your lawn with a tracked brush hog... On the other hand thats actually a really clean brush hogging cut.
Give the company a break you have the brush cutting deck on it’s not meant for normal lawn, I’m sure this video stopped quite a few people from buying one
