I used to think that Christine was overly mean compared to the rest of the group but now I get it’s because she’s the only one who actually talks back and defends herself when Nick starts going on his weird tangents about women
Edit: honestly I think that the podcast is always better when they aren’t focusing on relationships, especially considering how it’s the people with the least amount of experience always talking the most

idk about y’all but if i was maru and heard a bunch of guys who i thought were my friends talking about how they wouldn’t check up on me and only view me as a work friend i would be so sad. if you hold all your friendships with men higher then you hold all your friendships with women, there’s a problem. it’s fucked up to say that guys only keep girls around because they’re attracted to them. things like that are hurtful and diminish the other aspects that women bring to friendships. i really do like this podcast but there have been a couple times where i’ve noticed that a lot of the guys think that they’re so much different than the girls. sometimes they think they’re better. men and women are more similar than you think. it reminds me of when we were in elementary school and kids would tease each other for being friends with the opposite sex. the way you view male and female friendships is incredibly childish and sad. grow up. this podcast was super disappointing to watch. i hope maru doesn’t see this vid.

Why is Viet, the guy who’s whole thing is being in and out of jail, anger issues, broken-hearted in the worst ways possible, womanizer, etc etc - the most caring toward women??? I’m not surprised just confused why his respect for women is more than that of every guy combined on this pod rn. He would fight to protect a girl homie in need. Meanwhile Nick, who’s been friends with Maru for YEARS, is basically saying she means nothing to him and would never get involved to help a girl out at the club from creeps.
This pod and a couple more in the past have made it very clear to me that Nick is very two-faced and childish. If he’s not sexually attracted to you (as a woman), you are automatically below him. And if you reject him, he’ll hold onto that bitterness. Nick should just date his homies if he loves them that much and resents women that much. Figures why he’s the guy that gets the least amount of action.

Damn, not going to lie this podcast had me thinking about whether I want to keep supporting y'all. I've seen some red flags and questionable behavior from Nick and Sage in past podcasts but wow... this podcast showed y'all’s true colors. the way Nick constantly belittles his peers, mainly Maru, is so confusing to me, considering Maru is why he has the majority of his audience. Whenever he does some fucked up shit he validates it by saying it was a joke or by manipulating his way out of the situation. It's sad that Devin and Sean were the only respectful ones in this group. I hope that Nick and Sage apologize to Maru. Hopefully, Nick can learn from Devin and Sean to mature from his childish, two-faced behavior and learn to treat women with respect and compassion.

Devin and Sean handled this topic very well and it just shows the level of maturity between them and the others. you could tell they didn’t really agree but decided too keep quiet on the topic cause they know eventually the other guys are just gonna see it as an argument. It’s very sad thinking that just because we are girls we aren’t valued enough too be in a friendship and if we are we have to be unattractive to you or else it work.
I'll give Devin some props for at least saying they sounded a bit extreme, but he still said he mostly agrees with everything. I don't remember Sean saying much so correct me if I'm wrong, but in my opinion, staying silent is just as cowardly and insinuates that they agree/are on the same side as the others

Love that Devin spoke up at 1:58 saying he wouldn’t “cut off” friends that are girls when he has a girlfriend, and said that’s how the others were coming across. I genuinely see how compassionate and thoughtful Devin is, and he seems to truly value his connections with each member of the group. I agree that the other guys probably didn’t intend to be mean it and I’m sure they love Maru as a friend, but personally they didn’t have to use their friendship with her specifically as the prime example here, and it did sound pretty hurtful (if I was Maru I would feel hurt at least) .. still love all y’all but lately I’ve been having a soft spot for Maru.. just putting myself in her shoes 🤷🏻♀️

i know we don’t know what happens once the camera is turned off, but the way they (nick & sage) were talking about maru is really telling of their character 😕 sean has always been my favorite, especially with how he always backs up and reassures maru on her takes and opinions, which you can see in previous podcasts. devin too, he gained more of my respect after this episode. love them both so much!!!!! maru is so lucky to have the two of them 🫂

i gotta say i’m very proud of sean. he’s come a long way from when he came back to the pod. he doesn’t stop himself from opening up now and accepts that he used to not do that. it’s nice to see that bc i noticed i had the same problem and til now i’m starting to open up myself too.
A heavy reason why I liked this podcast a lot was that 1) I thought the guys were girls's guys in the same way girls are girls's girls (Idk if it makes sense), I would have never expected them to behave differently just because they are surrounded by only men (they just exhibit a mean and slightly misogynistic behavior, never seen before). The 2) reason was that I genuinely thought you all (including the girls) were friends first, coworkers second, that's what you guys have said in the past, but now, after saying several times that you guys (especially Nick) would not see Maru if not for work, then I wonder how honest that friendship is. All in all, it was a bittersweet podcast, it was entertaining for what is worth, but it also shed some light on some disappointing truths.
I think it went over your head. He meant that if they didn’t do the podcast they wouldn’t been as close as they are. It always happens in life I’m assuming your old enough to understand that when u get out of high school u lose touch with your close friends a little. I've been watching this podcast for years, since it barely had any subs and they first brought cynthia and maru on and I always admired and found the friendships between the guys and them so wholesome and genuine especially with nick and maru. Nick has been friends with both girls since elementary school and usually talks so fond of them especially maru since cynthia isn't on the pod anymore. He's said he sees maru as a sister that he has to protect before, and they were friends for years before this podcast even started, so hearing nick speak about her like that and saying he only nurtures the friendship because of work honestly makes me really fucking sad and doesn't even make sense when you look at some of the other shit he's said about her, it's really disappointing honestly to see a different side of this. It's unfortunate that there are not many examples of such healthy relationships in the media. It's absolutely possible to have close, platonic friendships while being in a healthy relationship. The basis of friendship should not rely on attraction or the lack thereof, but rather on genuine care and connection.
I felt like if I was younger and lacked the experience that I have now, I would've been slightly swayed to believe that some of the points made in this episode was valid.

It is possible to have multiple best friends of both genders.
