Do whatever you can to keep the rust away, and spend whatever it tale to keep the paint and interior looking good. We are coming into an era where the "forever vehicles" must me cared for. I will be selling my 6.7 (with DPF) truck, and paying MORE for a similar condition 5.9 - perhaps with P7100.
The takeaway honest truth is that anyone who buys the Dodge truck with the Cummins, especially those wise enough to go with the manual transmission, were destined to be very happy for a very long time. Those older trucks with their lower horsepower are in fact as good or better for actual hard work (even if not winning drag races).
Have had my 93 since 94 going on 30 years now. wouldn't trade it for any 2-5th gen. But I also have a 2nd gen 12 valve (95) it has cracked head, put some blue devil in it, and it's been holding up for over a year now, I have a new head, just need to time to repair. Thanks for watching.
@@TheBlueCollarPreacherthe older mechanicals were so much more reliable than all the technology laden new trucks. The Duramax and Power joke just don’t have the pedigree of Cummins.
@@TheBlueCollarPreacher 400BC being one of my faves, there’s a Mack DM800 just waiting for a transplant but my wife would shoot me if I brought it home 😆 thanks for the vid brother
What a great video. Surprised they put this much effort into it knowing the new Ram was just on the horizon. Some interesting takeaways: Average buyer made $39k. That's $85k today. Tough to buy a new diesel pickup on that salary today. Only 11,900 pounds of towing! There are half tons at that level now. 400lbs of torque...isn't the current Cummins Ram around 1100? How times change.
Usually these individuals marketing products like such tend to sprinkle lies on the truth and use fancy terms like "heavy duty" and such. This guy does that, but only with the transmission options
I have had my 93 model since 94 bought with 23 thousand miles on it. My Getrag lasted over 25 years with 2 clutch changes. It's when you start giving them more power than they can handle, is when they start breaking down, my 5th gear is whining, but still there, I lost my 4th synchro due to over loading my 25ft goose neck with about 10 tons hauling it up and down hills in UT, and WY. Not the truck or trans fault, but mine. I plan on rebuilding my trans hopefully this summer. Thanks for watching.
That video was a pleasure to watch!! Thanks so much for taking the time to do that and upload it here to youtube for all to appreciate. Cheers!!
Thanks for watching, more to come in the near future.
This engine saved the truck division, as Chrysler was thinking about axing it due to low sales, and money needed to redesign them!
Now computer chips killing them, glad my old 1st gen doesn't rely on them. Thanks for watching.
Proud to say that I still have my 1993 Dodge W350 4x4 with 5 speed manual !
Same here bought mine in 1994 with 21g miles.
@@TheBlueCollarPreacherwow only 21 gazillion huh😂

Not one set of gay wheels in the whole video , I love it
It was like going back in time for me, trucks all brand new showroom condition. Thanks for watching.
Dateline: January 2024, FirstGendodgegarage marveled that “no gay wheels” were present in Dodge’s 1992 Dodge Ram sales presentation video!
an old cummins commercial, the only suitable place to throw around the word gay and no one freaks out
That was a great video, thanks for your time in putting it out, I appreciate your effort. American Iron All the Way !

This is when the diesel wars began. Dodge opened up a can of whip ass.
Like how Dodge kept this bodystyle running from 1972-1993 For Dodge Full size trucks and Dodge Ramchargers.
The longest lasting body style as well. Thanks for watching.
Really wanted that dodgezilla to stick huh. Still trying to find a 12 valve and nv4500 to replace my 360
Look for a 2nd gen donner
@@TheBlueCollarPreacher been trying but everyone wants 10k for a rusted out pos
Cool video, thanks for uploading!
Thanks for watching.
I used to have a 1992 W350 club cab, man do I regret selling it....:(
It seems like the older trucks were so much tougher, because after all, they were trucks not fancy cars with a bed and a 500lb payload
16:04 somebody mixed up the tapes those ain't 5.9 rods!
I'm sure it was just stock videos from somewhere, Thanks for watching.

lol intercooled power
Only problem is they didn’t warn anyone about the POS chassis it is in.
They weren’t bad at all really
Prior to 1992, yes, but 92 and 93 bigger and better frames. Thanks for watching
That is the guy from @TFLTRUCK?
That was my 1st thought lol
I don’t think Roman looked like this guy in 1992. He probably had more hair than this guy.
If only they would’ve know about the wonderful drip rail rust🥲
Yes, I had a crewcab I was going to build but ended up selling it due to the dreaded drip edge. Thanks for watching.
