I am able to open the hatch of my 19 Caravan without bikes on it. I hook the bottom straps to the bottom edge of the hatch door, not the underside of the bumper as some would. This is part of the reason I chose a trunk mount rack as it also leaves the back area of the car clear as opposed to a hitch mount rack that drops down. It also keeps the hitch free so I can tow my trailer with it on and loaded with bikes.
*I drove 20 hours across state with a **Latest.Bike** on this rack never budged. Highly impressed. Easy install one two go!*
Nice to watch a real customer installing (vs a trained person).
Thank you!! Makes more sense to me now… Great job
Reading note #105... Bottom straps MUST go to bumper METAL structure (underneath and behind), not the plastic, like your video shows.
Thanks! Just installed
Very useful. Thanks
Thank you. Im wondering if the truck can still be opened with the rack on, without a bike attached?
You have to remove the rack to get in the back.

Painful to watch. I gave up and wonder why I stuck with it for even 5 minutes!
Wow, you must be some smart guy!
Not once you mentioned the model number for this bike rack.
It is in the title.
Thule Passage 2
It's actually Thule Passage, the 2 is part of the "2 bike carrier"
