I love how at the start of this video you mentioned Uganda instead of Rwanda. I guess you left a bit of your heart in Uganda. The best part though is that very warm and exciting welcome you got from the Managing director of that facility. If I am ever that side, I would love to spend a night there for sure. And it is quite affordable as well. Beautiful place with beautiful people.
You know the thing about every tourist that comes to Africa they think it's like one big same community aka a country, not a continent. As Rwandans we are mostly calm and reserved people a comparison would be like the Japanese or Chinese meaning if you don't know the language which is Kinyarwanda most people will not talk to you because they just can't or don't feel comfortable doing so. I've noticed that when visitors come to Rwanda or Kigali specifically and see that the official languages are English and French, they assume since it's the capital city people actually speak either, which is not true those are more of business languages, not our day-to-day language so if you can't even speak a word or two in Kinyarwanda just to get people excited to talk to you don't expect people to approach. It's just not who we are and it's not because of our tragic history of the Genocide it's just the way we are with people we can't relate with in the same Language. So you said we are a sad city because we don't name our streets, we don't need to because roads are just roads to us so we don't feel the need to name them. We identify places on the names of some important buildings located in that area eg: kacyiru kuri immigration/kuri ambassade ya banyamerika or Kwarwahama/ Kwarubangura and so on and so forth. Second, you want to justify the fact that Kigali is sad just because you had 2 bad experiences with lodge managers. First and foremost it's unfortunate that you encountered such bad customer service from people who are supposed to know how to treat well visitors since they work in the hospitality business TOTALLY unacceptable, and I agree that we have a big customer service problem across all areas that we must improve. Having said that that doesn't explain why you would label the whole city as sad having been just to few places around and not actually giving the full context in your video, you just mentioned the road naming thing, not the bad encounters you had. So sometimes we see on the internet some videos of black people going to other countries such as Belgium, China, the US, India, etc and getting some bad Airbnb experience or just that the Airport authorities have specifically targeted them just because they come from such and such African country so can we conclude from those videos that the given country mentioned is full of racist bigots or rude hosts. For example, if they had encountered that in a specific city is that city labeled as generally a bad city. But on the positive side, you got some good groceries that gave you a piece of home. So kudos to my city for that. As Joey Swoll famously says "YOU NEED TO DO BETTER"
Just read the beginning of your comment, and you said a lot of things that are not correct. Rwandan people are calm and reserved??? Man, outside of Kigali, that's definitely very far from the truth. Also, you assume that Chinese people are calm and reserved, another statement that is very far from the truth... And finally, it's been years since I am in Africa. I perfectly know that Africa is very diverse and that it is a continent, and I can recognize when there is a weird atmosphere in a city. It's very easy to see that there is a huge weight on people's heads in Kigali, and this statement has nothing to do with the bad treatment I received in my accommodations in Kigali.
And I can see from the comment section that some Rwandan people have a very hard time dealing with any criticism... Chill, it's not the end of the world, I find French people also sad, it does not mean I hate France.
All the people who say that Rwandans are cold and reserved didn't get together to start a conspiracy... It's people from all over the world who say the same things, but y'all are so defensive!! There must be some truth to the observation!!

Yves: "The soulless streets are sad." I do love it when you allow the profound/poetic part of your character loose. As you may remember, I'm from England where we have some fairly interesting street names, a tiny handful of examples being: Silly Lane Frying Pan Alley Dick Place Christmas Pie Avenue Crotch Crescent Spanker Lane French Ordinary Court Willey Lane Lane Road Butthole Lane Ha-Ha Road Rolling Down Hill Backside Lane Worlds End Road Fanny Street Hooker Road Cock-A-Dobby Dumb Woman's Lane There And Back Again Lane Slack Bottom No Name Street Semicock Road Lickers Lane Court Cocking Tom Tit Lane Bleak Place (Some may need looking up because they might contain words that are only used in England.) I know your time is super limited so coming up with high value click-baits-style video titles isn't always that easy. There is a whole science surrounding the several techniques but one easy one to consider would be to pick a phrase that either yourself or someone else in the video speaks out loud at some point. You probably already know about this basic technique but I always like to be helpful whenever possible. Keep up the good work buddy.

From the video i can say they are respectful and very friendly people... the love their privacy and try to respect yours as well... that's how life is suppose to be.
May be too much bloodshade denies happiness. Someone told me about Germany, though highly civilized and beautiful country, there is a spirit of sadness observed in the people's face. That's why any society should avoid bloodshade on their soil and learn from thier mistake. No country should think that they are better of, it can happen. Such grief and guilt of past can be removed by mass repentance. Ruandan's should refuse to live in the past by exercising national repentance day for what has been done. They should regain their happiness. Let God remove the spirit of sandness from there and replace it with happiness. By the way i am impressed how Ruwanda is clean it's exemlary.
Rwandese are just like that especially in the cities. They think they have made it in life. They are proud People, but we can‘t change them. Some are very stubborn, but some how, I find the strength to love and accept them!
Bonne route

@@KinoYves Well you should also chill and accept our criticism back
All the people who say that Rwandans are cold and reserved didn't get together to start a conspiracy... It's people from all over the world who say the same things, but y'all are so defensive!! There must be some truth to the observation!!
@@jfk787agree with you

@@bonfacewachira3297 Iko sawa msee. If you can travel such a long highway and you can't even get a piece of litter, plus the whole stretch of the road is well landscaped and properly marked, what do we call that if not beauty? Tushangilie wenzetu wanapofanya vema.
The countryside is absolutely stunning, and so clean, no mountains of rubbish everywhere. Well done to Rwanda and it's people.

Stay safe
Merci de nous donner un peu de sourire et d'humanité dans ce monde de brute ♥️
You see even foreigners appreciate the traditional wearing of our ladies this another added value to us as Rwandans rather than fighting being naked on the street in the prejudice of it is our right! When you preserve your identity and value other people respect you.
My dear Rwandans are dressed. Have you seen our Ugandans? Hmmm!
This was nice... Kayonza looks beautiful. I noticed that they have very good and properly marked roads in Rwanda, thats a plus , Kudos.
Am proud of my country 🇷🇼🇷🇼🇷🇼♥️
I love that every bike we've seen here is a practical bike. So many people using them, and not just for having fun. And yeah, what lovely people 💙💛💚
Another great episode.. Nice job one more Yves
STILL FOLLOWING YOU FAITHFULLY FROM KENYA AND I FEEL LIKE IT WILL TAKE A LONG TIME TO EXPERIENCE A TYPE OF FRIENDLINESS AND CULTURAL DIVERSITY LIKE THE ONE YOU EXPERIENCED IN KENYA. YOU ARE ALSO VERY FRIENDLY AND POLITE AND COOL COMPOSURE WITH ALL THOSE YOU INTERACT WITH.GOOD LUCK AND SAFE JOURNEY.
What a nice and welcoming place in that Kayonza lodge. ❤️ it
The hotel owner is amazing. Her passion is out of this world.
Rwandans are friendly in their own way. They don't have to be compared to anyone they have their own history.
Yves: "The soulless streets are sad."
I do love it when you allow the profound/poetic part of your character loose.
As you may remember, I'm from England where we have some fairly interesting street names, a tiny handful of examples being:
Silly Lane
Frying Pan Alley
Dick Place
Christmas Pie Avenue
Crotch Crescent
Spanker Lane
French Ordinary Court
Willey Lane
Lane Road
Butthole Lane
Ha-Ha Road
Rolling Down Hill
Backside Lane
Worlds End Road
Fanny Street
Hooker Road
Cock-A-Dobby
Dumb Woman's Lane
There And Back Again Lane
Slack Bottom
No Name Street
Semicock Road
Lickers Lane
Court Cocking
Tom Tit Lane
Bleak Place
(Some may need looking up because they might contain words that are only used in England.)
I know your time is super limited so coming up with high value click-baits-style video titles isn't always that easy. There is a whole science surrounding the several techniques but one easy one to consider would be to pick a phrase that either yourself or someone else in the video speaks out loud at some point. You probably already know about this basic technique but I always like to be helpful whenever possible.
Keep up the good work buddy.
So much fun and funny!
And some countries have on humour!

We love you khino Yves. May you be blessed in your adventure.
So true about Germany, I was shocked when I visited Berlin.
It’s clean even the plates are clean nothing to put on that’s why 😂😂😂
Rawanda is such a beautiful country, nature, people so friendly..WOW..ViVa Africa .love to be there one day, God's willing..❤
Bonne route
He missed an amazing place, Nyamirambo, pedestrian ways of Kigali, ... I also felt bad when he just passed around Kigali 😔
Please come back when you're done with the trip, visit Rwanda.
