A battered and bruised soul landed in Ireland. The country showered on her compassion aplenty to heal herself, and elbow room to let her flourish as an individual. She, too, showed extraordinary strength by eventually becoming the voice for the voiceless! What wonders can a touch of humanity can work! Kudos to Ireland's welcoming ways and Ifrah's resilience!!

The same thing happened to me really , I also cried that moment but what makes me worry and sad was when the guy who was with her brought her Ireland instead of where she thought she'd be taken. Really it's a heartbreaking movie
What a story! Just watched this today and focusing on the positives, Ifrah is one incredible woman who have gone on to do incredible work. Long may she continue to be a success story and go on to make a difference to other women in similar situations as she went through. What didn't break her made her stronger. From refugee to finding citizenship in Ireland. God took care of her all the way 👏🏾 👏🏾

went through fgm when i was 6 yrs with razor blade too 😢 remembering it makes me cry .i was raised my grandma and she said it was traditional to do that i remember it was me and my sister and several other girls in our neighborhood.i remember the first girl they cut she was overbleeding coz she was cutted in a wrong way . some women holding us down to be cutted screaming with pain .they poured some herb there and they tied our legs together. and i was in the same condition as that girl who didn't pee remembering my smotach getting bigger and coz peeing was very very painful 😢and that ends with me never letting my daughters go through what i went through
Im from Uganda,,I feel sad and sorry to know ladies out there have to go through pain that is tougher and more horrific than the dying process itself.May your souls be percified and your lives blessed to save the future generations to come.
What a story!! Credit to the guy who helped her out of Mohadishu all the way to Ireland. I would have loved him to support her cause and become a total hero, but that isn't the case, so sad. Ifrah, the girl from Mogadishu is a story of coming from grass to grace. I hope she's been able to visit her aunt in Minnesota she's such a nice woman.
It’s her uncle. I hope his help was genuine and from the heart. But there’s another theory, In Somalia when a girl gets r_ed either the family send her away as far as they can or marry her off to her r_pist quickly, to avoid rumours spreading and protect the family’s name and reputation
I have been crying watching this movie. I am Nigerian and I have never experienced this. I pray God heals all broken hearts. I am proud of the people who took her in without questioning. I can't imagine people going through what she went through in her locality
Great Movie and Story. Thank You! I’m Nigerian from a large family of 31 children and I remember growing up I witnessed one of my sister going through FGM. Didn’t understand what or why until later on as an adult watching this movie brought back the memories.
I was completely unaware of the topic and my brain got numb after watching this movie. What a brave, bold and fearless Ifrah to talk and act about it! Hats off!
What a roller coaster of emotions for me. I am not Somalian but i can relate to her story. it is very vivid. The physical pain at 14 years and the emotional pain and fear that has followed me all through my adult life. it has made me cry a lot. i am hopeful that these tears will dry one day
I'm so proud of you, Ifrah! You're such a brave wonderful woman inside and out, not ashamed sharing your life to the whole world. It's just like you're an angel sent to inform and save girls of countries practicing FGM. This is my first time to know about FGM and very blessed to be educated about this. I support your campaign to No FGM. May the Good Lord blessed you with your beautiful advocacy and protect you as you go on with your journey ❤👏 A woman watching your video from Manila, Philippines 🇵🇭
I found this movie very educative. My project in my final year was on FGMC in Nigeria. I liked that I did a project on it and just watching this brought back memories. Well done to the cast and crew and to Ifrah thank you for lending your voice for all Somalia 🇸🇴 women 🎉
This movie deeply moved me, bringing back memories of the challenging times in Mogadishu during the civil war. Ifrah's strength and resilience are truly inspiring for women everywhere. No matter what hardships you face, never give up. I hope you find the strength to overcome your experiences and remember that everything is temporary, not permanent. Fardowsa from Utah ❤️❤️❤️
Am literally crying 😭😭 Am a kenyan and my community had stopped FGM by the time I got to the age of going through it.But girls from other communities that had not yet stopped it were really going through a hard time during that time of FGM💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔
I’m so glad it didn’t happen to you. It doesn’t matter if I don’t know you. I’m a 59yr old Native American woman from North Carolina who hopes this practice comes to an end. But how do you convince those people who are rooted in their beliefs. I’ve seen what religion and ‘beliefs’ can cause. I’m not religious. Anymore. I don’t believe that crap that was FORCED upon me. Bless you and your family.

I nearly didnt watch this movie but am so glad I did, What a truly inspiring girl Ifrah was and is. Am so glad you are continuing to spread the word of FGM and the evil it is for the girls. I have signed many petitions to stop this evil practice but never actually had a 100% understanding to the extent they cut and mutilate these young girls. Thank you for posting

Watching this from Johannesburg & Medical Doctor! I saw a whole ward of women at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre who were being treated for complications of Female Genital Mutilation in the 1990’s! To even think Gambia has reversed their stance to reintroduce this ghastly culture practice 🥺! A great film, deeply informative .

Am an African, and the tales that come alongside war, culture and tradition, is really tragic, I guess we are often plaque by the faults in our stars, as the myriad of our stories aligns to propel us to a greater height. A great story no doubt
Wow, thank you IFTRAH for advocating for other women out there. Great job to everyone who made it possible for this movie to exist. God bless you all. Much love❤️ from Zambia 🇿🇲
I am Somali, Female genital mutilation (FGM), which is a harmful practice that unfortunately still occurs in some communities in Somalia is true. It's important to raise awareness about this issue and work towards ending such harmful cultural practices which is even opposing Islamic teachings. Together we fight all bad cultures for happier life.

One of the bravest women in female's history. She fought the toughest battle and surely her hardwork is really felt and i greatly appreciate it as a fellow woman. I pray that we reach a point whereby we will record zero new FGM cases......i have learnt a lot from this story and i caught " if you educate a girl child, you have educated a nation"....lots of love from 🇿🇼🇿🇼🇿🇼
this movie makes me recall the situation I was once in in my country Sudan.... therefore, as soon as i came across this movie my tears started to flow my eyes alone.
What’s it like in those camps? I’m sorry to ask. I’ve seen pictures and thousands of people were just sitting on the ground, some holding their starving children. We Americans, even the poorest of us, should never complain about anything. Damn. 😞
Wow! I’m so glad her skirt hem didn’t get caught in the escalator. I remember the first time I ever stepped on one, in Chicago O’Hare. I was terrified being from a small farm in the middle of nowhere. My nerves are tore up watching this movie.
In fact, this movie has a very strong feeling. I had to watch it for three days, and every day I had to stop watching it first. cry tears of sadness and happiness. I have finished watching this film with a new perspective that everyone in their community should be the catalyst for positive change.
Hello Ifrah im watching from the Philippines 🇵🇭..Thanks a million for sharing your stories with us..Im so proud of what you did on how to stop this FGM for the generations to come..Never regrets crying while watching..
The movie is based on a true story and it's about every story and every pain the Somali people go through 1990 to date. More so the female gender. May Allah give peace to Somalia and it's people. Thanks Ifrah for showcasing to the world the happenings in Somali. You did it pro Bono and for the love of your people.
Am sure many many girls like me couldnt hold back their tears when they watch Ifrah Ifrah spoke for all of us those who went through fgm😭 We need girls like her in our society❤
To people who have been victims of war and FGM and lost dear ones as a result of war just know we love you and you're strong. I hope one day we would join you in a campaign to stop FGM in communities still practicing it. I cried watching this masterpiece and reality.
I had no idea what this movie was going to be about, I just clicked on it while looking for something to watch. It hurts so much to watch it I can hardly continue. I am an American living in Africa for 18 years now, I am white of European decent but grew up in a village in Alaska. So living in the villages here in Africa, in the middle of no where wasn’t strange to me. I had never heard of FGM so many years ago when I first came here. It was horrific and shocking to find out that my sister-in-laws were going through FGM, it was not made illegal yet, in fact it wasn’t that long ago that the country i live in now actually prosecuted people committing this crime. It’s better I don’t mention the country. I listened to my sister in laws stories and i can’t tell you how upset i was and crying, and I’m not even the one that had it done to me. I am a foreigner to a village that no foreigner had ever been to before, so it’s not like I’m going to stand up and say stop all this now in front of everyone, that would have been dangerous to my life. No one talks about this here much and I still live here, and finally over the last maybe 4 years they have really started to prosecute anyone who does FGM here, although I know some still do it. My husband became a doctor and he’s very good at educating people against this horrific tradition, he’s not afraid to speak out about it, after all he had to hear the screams of his sisters when they were going through FGM, he was so young. At that time, all I could do was be there for them silently. It’s amazing how many uneducated people there are that think FGM has anything to do with Islam. It is a cruel and horrific crime committed on women against their will by men trying to gain power and control for their own will.
Inspirational story from unrepresented women in Africa. hats off to your courage Ifrah for fighting this negative cultural practice of FGM. I salute you my sister.
Her picture caught my attention but I ignored the first. But since then I told myself I must this movie. I’ve learned a lot in this movie. I couldn’t hold my tears. How we humans can be so cruel to each other. I can only imagine the pain of FGMC. Thanks for standing and fighting this so cold culture. May God open the eyes of the people to chose the culture that doesn’t destroys the lives of others. May we love, care for one another. We need peace to reign in the countries.
IFRAH your voice touch my heart and make me cry alot too Because am also a victim of FGM and i know d pain and trauma too i went through because of FGM But now i know better Am from sierra Leone
The movie made me cried cos I remembered my somali friends. We talked about the topic but not so deep to understand FGM to this extend. Then I see it as a normal thing cos it is also practiced in my country. Now i understand it's effect after watching the movie. I wish I had watched it when I was close to both my somali female friends and Nigerians.
Oh this touched my heart and I'm so glad I watched it, I'm from South Africa 🇿🇦 Ifrah somehow looks like our very own actress Thuso Mbedu. I really had no idea such things are conducted out there ,yes I know some but not this, now I'm investigating to know more🥺oh the pain and trauma those kids went through. Some practises are not accepted at all, I wouldn't allow this no matter the belief or religion. The moment she asked "are you from Somalia?" Then they cried 🥺I cried too. I love the women they became❤️it was worth the watch, thank you.❤️

God took care of her all the way 👏🏾 👏🏾
Multumesc Domnului ca m-am nascut intr -o tara libera si frumoasa unde femeia are drepturi si isi poate trai viata cu demnitate , isi poate fauri o cariera in orice domeniu si isi poate creste copiii in pace.Aceasta tara este Romania !❤❤❤
I almost all countries hit thru civil war or some of kind of unrest. Before the war Somalia especially Mogadishu was such a beautiful place ppl and women or girls had freedom and peace. I guarantee u Romania wasn’t as pleasant as it is now during the Soviet era or before that
This movie makes me quite emotional. Thank you Ifrah, a very brave girl from Somalia.

went through fgm when i was 6 yrs with razor blade too 😢 remembering it makes me cry .i was raised my grandma and she said it was traditional to do that i remember it was me and my sister and several other girls in our neighborhood.i remember the first girl they cut she was overbleeding coz she was cutted in a wrong way . some women holding us down to be cutted screaming with pain .they poured some herb there and they tied our legs together. and i was in the same condition as that girl who didn't pee remembering my smotach getting bigger and coz peeing was very very painful 😢and that ends with me never letting my daughters go through what i went through
Im from Uganda,,I feel sad and sorry to know ladies out there have to go through pain that is tougher and more horrific than the dying process itself.May your souls be percified and your lives blessed to save the future generations to come.

Brother
The guy who sent her in Ireland had a pure heart.
It’s her uncle. I hope his help was genuine and from the heart. But there’s another theory, In Somalia when a girl gets r_ed either the family send her away as far as they can or marry her off to her r_pist quickly, to avoid rumours spreading and protect the family’s name and reputation
@@Sadrian-hl5qtwhat that’s sad so girls like property i think a dog is better than a woman in those countries.

The physical pain at 14 years and the emotional pain and fear that has followed me all through my adult life. it has made me cry a lot. i am hopeful that these tears will dry one day
May tears dry soon for all the girls and women at risk.
I don't know how much pain you must have felt, but as a woman, this is not right. I'm so sorry you underwent FGM.❤❤

I cried watching this masterpiece and reality.
So do I...

I couldn’t hold my tears. How we humans can be so cruel to each other.

May we love, care for one another. We need peace to reign in the countries.
