This movie makes my heart run fast, as i am watching it all comes back memories of my own story, as young girl in Mogadishu when the War began. I have lost my parents and a only brother and i was orphaned as the result.
A year later trapped in the burning city hopeless and scared,me and some relatives who was caring for me finally got the chance to leave.
We arrived in Kenya although I have never being in the refugee camp,I had terrible experience in Kenya, Kenya wasn't welcoming Country and the police were going door to door hunting immigrants, although i was living with family members who were Kenyan citizens, with no document in hand we scapped once more to South Africa, and lived there for 13 years, from there i immigrated to the United States, but recently came back to homeland Somalia 🇸🇴
So this's not a movie, but really and result of War torn people, it doesn't matter where they call home, war is terrible thing, may God help those who are in similar situations 🙏
My heart has been taken for awhile 😢❤
May you find a lasting peace wherever you are
Dieu vous accorde la paix ❤
Please leave Somalia
God grant you peace
Cheers to those of us who read the comments before watching this amazing movie❤

I am Irish, from Dublin, & this film makes me proud of my people for our welcoming kindness.
Truly the people who were there for Ifrah did a wonderful job of building her up with loving healthcare & educational support, but to me the most important gift they gave to Ifrah after all she had taken from her, was the fact that they listened to her & allowed her to speak ...they gave her a voice, a home & a purpose. 💚☘
❤❤❤❤
I have always love to migrate to Dublin to work as a Nurse .

Wow! Watching this on International Women's Day, how timely! Thank you Ifrah, champion for Women! I cried when you sobbed in that hospital. Truly nothing is by chance, or coincidence, Ifrah being taken to Ireland was ordained, which better country than Ireland to understand struggle, pain and healing? Thank you to those good men and women from Somalia to Ireland who helped so many pple from war torn countries, THANK YOU!.....thank you also to men and women around the world who stand up for humanity!.
Itd good to shout out the problem of humanity god bless😢

I am writing from Kazakhstan 🇰🇿🇰🇿🇰🇿, I was very moved by the film to tears, I first learned about such a custom from the film “Desert Flower”, after watching it I realized what kind of torment the girls went through... I wish that all the girls in the world would never experience such pain...

Only who went through FGM type 3&4 can relate much to ifrah. I know how it feels been through the same had to run away with a child and seek asylum in Finland 🇫🇮. Thank you ifrah speaking for the voiceless such a phenomenal warm welcome from Ireland and Irish people 🫡.
Really? ... it must be so difficult for you

I found this movie very educative. My project in my final year was on FGMC in Nigeria. I liked that I did a project on it and just watching this brought back memories. Well done to the cast and crew and to Ifrah thank you for lending your voice for all Somalia 🇸🇴 women 🎉
Do Nigerians ladies too go through FGM
Wow, thank you IFTRAH for advocating for other women out there. Great job to everyone who made it possible for this movie to exist. God bless you all.
Much love❤️ from Zambia 🇿🇲
Am literally crying 😭😭 Am a kenyan and my community had stopped FGM by the time I got to the age of going through it.But girls from other communities that had not yet stopped it were really going through a hard time during that time of FGM💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔

I’m so glad it didn’t happen to you. It doesn’t matter if I don’t know you. I’m a 59yr old Native American woman from North Carolina who hopes this practice comes to an end. But how do you convince those people who are rooted in their beliefs. I’ve seen what religion and ‘beliefs’ can cause. I’m not religious. Anymore. I don’t believe that crap that was FORCED upon me. Bless you and your family.

What a story! Just watched this today and focusing on the positives, Ifrah is one incredible woman who have gone on to do incredible work. Long may she continue to be a success story and go on to make a difference to other women in similar situations as she went through. What didn't break her made her stronger. From refugee to finding citizenship in Ireland. God took care of her all the way 👏🏾 👏🏾
I was in tears, sometimes smiling and laughing, then tears such a young, beautiful brave gal.we celebrate you ifrah and super proud of you.❤❤from kenya
I was completely unaware of the topic and my brain got numb after watching this movie. What a brave, bold and fearless Ifrah to talk and act about it! Hats off!
sincerely this is beyond a drama. i want to celebrate you Ifrah for the giant stride and your heart of Gold in spite of all contradictory evidences.
i as a feminist and a personalty burning with passion to save African CHILDREN IN NEED want to express how much i share in your dream for humanity.
love you dearly, sister
I am Somalian guy I watch this movie as I’m writing this message. My eyes are full of tears. I’m really sorry to all Somali girls took me back when I was young boy in our motherland we can do so much to help girls Ifrah. I’m really glad you bought this movie.
Thank you
🇲🇿 Assistindo de Moçambique-Africa….gostei muito da história, muito sentimental, admirado a coragem dessa mulher.
Hello Ifrah im watching from the Philippines 🇵🇭..Thanks a million for sharing your stories with us..Im so proud of what you did on how to stop this FGM for the generations to come..Never regrets crying while watching..
I am from South Africa and I cannot relate to what young girls in Somalia go through; however I understand their pain. May all of them heal from the pain and trauma they went through. Love from a fellow African sister ❤
This movie deeply moved me, bringing back memories of the challenging times in Mogadishu during the civil war. Ifrah's strength and resilience are truly inspiring for women everywhere. No matter what hardships you face, never give up. I hope you find the strength to overcome your experiences and remember that everything is temporary, not permanent. Fardowsa from Utah ❤️❤️❤️
I nearly didnt watch this movie but am so glad I did, What a truly inspiring girl Ifrah was and is. Am so glad you are continuing to spread the word of FGM and the evil it is for the girls. I have signed many petitions to stop this evil practice but never actually had a 100% understanding to the extent they cut and mutilate these young girls. Thank you for posting

Dear ladies let's break the silence.
Hero Ifra, ❤❤ i am from Rwanda.
This movie got me teary, first for the pain then for the victory in the end. A beautiful movie. I am inspired by this.
I was crying when she saw Somalian girl we are one nation religion, one language I’m so proud 🇸🇴🇸🇴🇸🇴🇸🇴
But different tribes 😢
That is why I like Brazil, women are treated with respect and there is freedom of religion and expression.
The same thing happened to me really , I also cried that moment but what makes me worry and sad was when the guy who was with her brought her Ireland instead of where she thought she'd be taken. Really it's a heartbreaking movie
Thank you Ifrah! You are one of the most amazing humans on Earth!
What a story!! Credit to the guy who helped her out of Mohadishu all the way to Ireland. I would have loved him to support her cause and become a total hero, but that isn't the case, so sad. Ifrah, the girl from Mogadishu is a story of coming from grass to grace. I hope she's been able to visit her aunt in Minnesota she's such a nice woman.
Brother
The guy who sent her in Ireland had a pure heart.
It’s her uncle. I hope his help was genuine and from the heart. But there’s another theory, In Somalia when a girl gets r_ed either the family send her away as far as they can or marry her off to her r_pist quickly, to avoid rumours spreading and protect the family’s name and reputation

Beautiful story, well acted, and a proud girl from Somali called Ifrah❤❤
My friend, is this a beautiful story or bad story?
Am an African, and the tales that come alongside war, culture and tradition, is really tragic, I guess we are often plaque by the faults in our stars, as the myriad of our stories aligns to propel us to a greater height. A great story no doubt
I just finished watching the movie! Thanks for sharing sucj important story to be known.
I had a roller coster of feelings and was afraid that may someone harm or kill her when she went back to Mogadishu.
Thanks Ifrah for turning your pain into an inspiring story. You are such a warrior.
May God bless you and help you in each step.
Greetings from Egypt
Such a splendid job! thanks to Ifrah. I joined my voice to the voices of millions of women and young girls around the world and says NO to FGM!
I cried all through the movie, for different reasons ofcourse but finally i was so happy for those beautiful young souls. THEY WIN WIN WIN
I am proud of you for standing up for what is right my sister.
Such a emotional but inspiring movie. No limit on how amazing one can become. Trust the process. Love and blessings to all the actors and Actresses. ❤
Woooow wooow woooow what a movie from the beginning to the very ends. This is what I call informative movie where you watch something and educate yourself more about other culture, traditional and reality of life. I will definitely watch it again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ movie standard

I am from ethiopia 🇪🇹 but thank you for the awareness Ifrah, you are a HERO to representing all your somalian sisters. God bless you.
Thank you 😊❤ our neighbors ❤❤
I'm very glad to watch this movie. Thank you Madam Ifrah Ahmed for speaking for the voiceless. I'm Asumah Ibn Sulayman from Ghana 🇬🇭. May Allah protect our female girls from FGM 🙏
What a roller coaster of emotions for me. I am not Somalian but i can relate to her story. it is very vivid. The physical pain at 14 years and the emotional pain and fear that has followed me all through my adult life. it has made me cry a lot. i am hopeful that these tears will dry one day
May tears dry soon for all the girls and women at risk.
I don't know how much pain you must have felt, but as a woman, this is not right. I'm so sorry you underwent FGM.❤❤
❤❤❤, may the Lord God comfort your heart.
Am from Kenya and for sure Ifrah you are a heroine and a super woman ,much love
went through fgm when i was 6 yrs with razor blade too 😢 remembering it makes me cry .i was raised my grandma and she said it was traditional to do that i remember it was me and my sister and several other girls in our neighborhood.i remember the first girl they cut she was overbleeding coz she was cutted in a wrong way . some women holding us down to be cutted screaming with pain .they poured some herb there and they tied our legs together. and i was in the same condition as that girl who didn't pee remembering my smotach getting bigger and coz peeing was very very painful 😢and that ends with me never letting my daughters go through what i went through
I’m from Kazakhstan 🇰🇿 and have been living in such an amazing country Ireland for 3 years.
This is truly a powerful and inspiring story that brought me to tears. I wish that no woman in the world ever experiences such violence and that their rights are never trampled.❤
A great advocacy and movie, thanks to Ifrah Ahmed for giving a voice to women
Gods blessings for the young woman who have to endure this also for the young woman who already have . Thank you for caring and sharing.

I am Somali, Female genital mutilation (FGM), which is a harmful practice that unfortunately still occurs in some communities in Somalia is true. It's important to raise awareness about this issue and work towards ending such harmful cultural practices which is even opposing Islamic teachings. Together we fight all bad cultures for happier life.

What’s it like in those camps? I’m sorry to ask. I’ve seen pictures and thousands of people were just sitting on the ground, some holding their starving children. We Americans, even the poorest of us, should never complain about anything. Damn. 😞
Wow! I’m so glad her skirt hem didn’t get caught in the escalator. I remember the first time I ever stepped on one, in Chicago O’Hare. I was terrified being from a small farm in the middle of nowhere. My nerves are tore up watching this movie.

Ifrah somehow looks like our very own actress Thuso Mbedu.
I really had no idea such things are conducted out there ,yes I know some but not this, now I'm investigating to know more🥺oh the pain and trauma those kids went through. Some practises are not accepted at all, I wouldn't allow this no matter the belief or religion. The moment she asked "are you from Somalia?" Then they cried 🥺I cried too. I cried watching this masterpiece and reality.
Many, many years ago I learned of this and started reading and educating myself about it. After learning of this I asked a Kenyan man who worked with me about it. Although this is sad and terrible I am glad this movie was made to bring awareness and very proud of Ifrah for taking a stand and fighting against this.
Lemme tell you something... The tears I couldn't hold back... I'll use to share this awareness. Alhamdullilah!!

A battered and bruised soul landed in Ireland. The country showered on her compassion aplenty to heal herself, and elbow room to let her flourish as an individual.
