Oh! I remember this show. It was hosted by David Sanborn (playing horn on this song). There was a bump before or after one of the commercial breaks that showed Debbie playing the trombone. One of those rare things that very few actually know about her.
"Calamari" is squid, this song is called "Calmarie." It's such a beautiful song, so smoothe. I love Debbie and she looks and sounds great in this video. Thanks bobby4000 for sharing.
David Sanborn looked so much like David Cronenberg back then, and Debbie Harry as a guest made it slightly spooky. I remember watching this late on Canadian TV and thinking that I was living in a cultural golden age.
Just my opinion, As to Dedorah Harry going solo I do not think she cared to much about being a huge hit. I remember in one of her interviews; that she just enjoyed making music. I happen to have all her solo albums, and think that she should have been a big hit just as Blondie was and still it
I don't think this is the version I heard on Night Music. I don't recall Sanborn's soprano sax scratching the chalkboard so in such disharmony with the singer.
I saw this when it originally aired and never forgot it. This is Deborah Harry at her hottest
She is the best.....period.
Love Ray your neighbor.

She's so beautiful and I love her voice. I have collected so many of her songs.
Debbie is absolutely beautiful.
And this song as well.
She is one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen!!
I was never much into Calmarie, but after giving this performance a try... I'm in love.

I was at this taping.

Beautiful. Like a postcard from heaven. Sponsored by MIchelob.
This woman can sing anything!
Her beauty even blows Madonna away!!!!
I think I have a new favorite song now. O mar e tao calmo, Solidao...
Era un programma stupendo, io lo vedevo sempre su raisat extra. Peccato che non vada più in onda.
A movie is going to be made about her life and the band Blonide. I hear Kirsten Dunst was chosen by Debbie to play the part.

She was hardly recognized for her solo work after Blondie! What a shame! She is stunning!
