I'm happy Aston Martin gets it's engines from us Germans, Aston Martin is very popular here, but the SUVs so far are weirdly rare. Here in Germany especially in Frankfurt and Munich i've seen more Lamborghini Urus than DBX so far, i don't understand why but considering that Aston Martin are pretty popular in both Cities and Areas around it (I can't drive through either City without either seeing a new or old Vantage as well as DBS & DB11s, but DBX? very rare in comparison, which is strange considering that the DBX is their bestseller apparently Prost & Cheers from the Bavarian Alps

Aston Martin are usually a little bit down on power and acceleration when compared with competition, so to see them come out with something that (nearly) wipes the floor with everything else is really special
AM cars are always slow up until now because they always had to compromise but now that Mercedes is handling most of their tech and powertrains, that should change from this year onwards.
Isn't that also because they're more aimed towards luxury rather than performance? I'd say their competition is more Bentley than Ferrari or Lamborghini.

Aston Martin has been testing this one on the Nürburgring the past Months, Dodge for some Reason hasn't tested the Durango Hellcat here, eventhough they tested everything else here extensively

I'm a huge BMW fan but I'd definitely buy this. I liked it before this new version, but I really like it now. It's one of those vehicles you won't see many of because everyone wants a Lamborghini or a jeep.
The Urus is not that fast compared to its competitors. It should be the DBX 707, Cayenne Turbo GT, Model X Plaid, Stelvio quadrifoglio, GLC 63S coupe, and Durango hellcat

707 is 707ps which translate to 697hp. It isn’t the most powerful production suv in the world because the Tesla Model X Plaid is 1020hp but if we’re talk combustion engine it’ll be the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat which is 710hp I believe. I might be mistaken I don’t know.

All thanks to the big pair of turbochargers they put in that they can churn out those extra horses. At first, I thought did they put in a V12 but I was wrong. It is the same engine. Just mind-blowing!! Can't wait to see it in the future drag races!!

Awesome achievement with a small budget to produce the best SUV in the world. Lets hope it keeps funding years of great coupe's for those of us who care little for trucks. I would like to see the first time one of these is perched on a rock or log flexing on that Carbon side panel.
They are trying to appeal to a larger market I suppose, but even at 3k rpm it sounds pretty decent, so hopefully it keeps that deep raspy sound when accelerating, but with restrictions getting tighter every year for efficiency and their v12s being relatively exclusive I don't think they could produce enough engines for the number of cars and meet the restrictions, that's my speculation

I prefer this DBX over majority of the suv's on that list. But I'd debate the audi RSQ8 and the urus as a competitive option. Those both look amazing as well.

While wheel size does play a role, ride quality and dynamics are mainly influenced by the chassis and suspension setup. Both the Audi RSQ8 and the new L460 Range Rover are available with 23" wheels, but the Audi's ride will be harsher because it emphasizes sportiness whereas the RR will be a lot more supple because it' suspension will be tuned for comfort. Although yes, larger wheels do present other worries, such as increased chances of curbing the wheels and making the vehicle less capable off road.

It depends really, but for example a Range Rover then is more prone to breakdown than any of the others. -Aston Martin DBX
-Porsche Cayenne
-Range Rover Autobiography (Long Wheelbase)
The question is based around comfort & durability, not so much range Because that's more of a trip plan issue.

Ps. If anyone else wishes to jump in, be my guest but I'm not looking for other vehicle suggestions although I am considering sourcing a Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6X6 & customising with much larger fuel capacity.
I prefer this DBX over majority of the suv's on that list. But I'd debate the audi RSQ8 and the urus as a competitive option. Those both look amazing as well.
I’d choose the DBX for sure, will have to keep playing the lottery. It’s the only way I’d ever afford one ☹️

PS stands for pferdestarke in German, which literally translates to horsepower (hp). 1PS = 1hp =~0.99bhp
So, 707PS or 707hp is 697bhp, which is also stated by the other person.

Can't imagine driving on our roads with these 23". Ouch.
While wheel size does play a role, ride quality and dynamics are mainly influenced by the chassis and suspension setup. Both the Audi RSQ8 and the new L460 Range Rover are available with 23" wheels, but the Audi's ride will be harsher because it emphasizes sportiness whereas the RR will be a lot more supple because it' suspension will be tuned for comfort. Although yes, larger wheels do present other worries, such as increased chances of curbing the wheels and making the vehicle less capable off road.

@@v12-s65 Absolutely true. My point, however is that 20" or 21" wheels on the same vehicle (ex. a Range Rover) are less likely to be curbed than 23" wheels. Just like how 17" wheels on a Golf are more prone to curbing than 15" or 16".

Never really liked the DBX to begin with but I was not aware that a power upgrade would launch it straight to the top of my favourite SUV list 😍

They've taken the best parts of the DBS superleggera and DBX and made something utterly beautiful. Fastest and most attractive SUV 😍

Jeez, all of a sudden the new BMW grills seem small. The last thing the DBX needed was a bigger grill. It's interesting to see that Mercedes let them build the most powerful iteration of this engine yet though.

Even though I would always pick the Aston, there's no way this is going to beat the Plaid X in 0-60.
Edit: just checked the specs. 0-60 in 3.3 secs. That's almost an entire second SLOWER than a Model X Plaid. Nice silver medal Aston.
I was thinking this. Carwow is usually far more reliable. Aston Martin at 0-60 3.3s is faster than the X Plaid 0.60 2.5s? I think Matt needs to explain.

well when you look at the individual parts that make the drive train then it's 10% Polish, 10% Hungarian and so on and so forth...but that was not the point.

@@Samosayummyyay out of curiosity, do you know that for a example a Mercedes or Audi is more prone to breakdown than a Jaguar? This is data from latest JD Power (US Survey). It depends really, but for example a Range Rover then is more prone to breakdown than any of the others. Is not really down to the country, but yeah I agree that generally speaking, and not only for cars, German engineering is very robust and sound
