Holiday Bowl in Altoona salvaged most of the pinsetter equipment from the building. Lane 32 is wearing a deck shield from one of Splinters A-2 setters.
Shows how often I go there. I didn’t even know they demolished the building such a same that they couldn’t restore it back to its glory. I hate watching businesses get destroyed because nobody wants to put the time and effort into making it great again.
It's so sad to see this ongoing trend in our area. Businesses that have been around for so long shutting down and being demolished. Usually they're replaced by a drug store, bank, or (as another poster said) a Dollar General or some other "invasive species" of chain business.
Unfortunately it will probably turn into a dollar general location sadly it looked like they got it ready for the next day's opening and it never happened...
Hello! How terribly sad. Nothing ever stays the same. Changes are going on everywhere at a alsrming rate. I'm not a big fan of it, and I'm grateful that you have documented what once was. 👍💙

Agreed! That building was almost perfect when I filmed it too.

Yeah it definitely seems like any trace of the good old days is being erased rapidly.

Another dollar general... I'm not surprised.

I agree. I am not a fan of the fast changes that are constantly taking place. Any trace of normalcy seems to be getting erased rapidly.
Man that's to bad. Someone could have reopened it and gave people something to do. Was almost perfect inside.
I agree man. Happens way too often
I drive past here almost everyday! So weird that it's no longer there.
Agreed
The owner was murdered in the building in 1980...blunt force trauma w/a bowling ball. rip Elwood.
This was my drunk teenage spot. 😭
What’s the sad music at 1:56?
It's a beat I made myself.
